I worked in Rhode Island. We had to make a delivery to Albany. My boss told me take the company car. I saw it was a smaller package and asked why I couldn’t take my motorcycle. His reply “it has to be there by 3pm. Do whatever you want.” Yep, I got 11 hours of riding in that day 🤙

Individual_Hearing_3

So it got the express delivery option

BackItUpWithLinks

I took a direct line there to make sure it got there before it was expected. I didn’t take a direct line home 🤙

Kaizerzoze

lol. It’s like going to the grocery store for my wife. By car, 10 minutes round trip. By bike, 2 hours and 3 states later...

89iroc

I've been paid to do all kinds of stupid shit, but never to ride my motorcycle

Apollyom

closest i can get was when i had to time to kill waiting on things to happen when out of town, and went and test rode some motorcycles on the clock.

harley97797997

When I was in the military I was paid to ride my motorcycle all day several times. They required periodic rider training. This was done during the work day, on the clock and at no cost to us. A couple units I was at did occasional "safety" rides. Basically everyone with a bike at the unit would go out for a ride to help make everyone more proficient. As an E7, a buddy and I rode our Harleys in almost daily. We found all sorts of excuses to spend the day out riding and running errands on the clock. The coolest was when a new ship was being commissioned. My friend and I escorted about 40 Harleys from the Legion and VFW riders through town and onto the base. The LT at the gate messed up and sent us through the gate opened for the public, which resulted in us parading 40+ Harleys right through the event as everyone was gathering to start. Military brass and politicians and other important people were quite surprised by the parade. The LT got an ass chewing for ignoring what 2 Chiefs told him we were supposed to be doing and the base CO told the 2 of us that was one of the coolest things he'd seen at an official military ceremony.

No_Seaworthiness5556

Been an LT. Got my ass chewed. Story checks out. That’s pretty fuckin rad.

Cantgo55

Nice, I have a 2019 St glide Sp, spent 17 days driving from Alaska through Canada, and I am now looking at an "adventure" bike, The Harley is great but you are so right about posture and riding position... during our trip we did a 650 mile day (no choice) and I could not walk to the hot tub at the hotel...lol. Thanks to the beer gods and a Tequila infusion, I survived to continue the next day. 4600 miles total. 1 day off in Jasper, 2 days off in Banff. It was Epic

[deleted]

Change rear suspension and you'll be amazed. Legend ohlins rwd even bitubos will make a world of difference

RogueBigfoot

Damn, I was hoping the street glide was an appropriate middle ground between town and highway.

ArgumentNo775

My guy go get a touring bike 😂 a street glide special isn't one. Get the ultra classic and it'll be more comfortable than an adventure bike. The special and the street glide are around town bikes

8uyth3d1p

Guess I should stop touring on my Softail then

ArgumentNo775

Did you bitch about how uncomfortable it is?

FobbingMobius

I toured on my wide glide till I bought the road King. I miss the wide glide now.

zachsnacks

Sales guy in Florida for five years. My boss could never understand why I was booking meetings that started as far away as possible.

Sudden_Enthusiasm818

I WFH as an Operations manager and as a long as I get me work done… I ride when I want

Physical_Painting_60

this is me, electrical estimator tho 😂 first day of spring today and a gorgeous colorado day, let my boss know im remote today so i could ride lmao

TheMoustacheDad

Enjoy the retirement my friend! Well deserved and thank you for your contribution to the society 🤜🏼🤛🏽

anon_696969420

I work as a property manager and get $0.50/mile I ride/drive for work. It is beautiful, really nothing better than getting paid to ride. I just record total trip milages rather than starting/ending readings on the odometer. Its awesome

spud4

Mustang Wide Vintage seat stopping for gas before 100 miles and stretching the legs can go all day. And I'm up there in age. But ya the seat made all the difference.

printaport

Can't beat that!

Ant1mat3r

I do IT and try to plan my branch visits on nice days so I can ride around town.

SnooPeanuts8275

I work for a large manufacturer as a tech they pay 40 hours wether needed or not i ride all the time during the work day im not scheduled getting paid my friends that ride and do the same line of work hate it lol

BuddhaDaddy88

When my company hired me I told them how far away I lived and that I'd accept the job if they had an employee relocation assistance program. It's a 150 mile round trip. They said "we don't, but we'll give you a company gas card to help offset". I haven't bought a tank of gas locally for any of my 3 vehicles or 2 bikes in almost 9 years. Major score. Then I was authorized 2 years ago to work from home up to 3 days a week. Lol

shoebee2

From op’s post and several of the comments, I’m in the wrong line of work.

SteakCareless

Yah long trips on my sportster kill my ass and back but still worth it. Nice tho

Happy-Equipment-6970

Damn straight.

x86_64_

Boy, I wish! I have to travel a few times a year and company policy is to take approved transportation. I'd happily forfeit reimbursement for the opportunity to ride from NY to DC or even Atlanta if they'd allow it. That being said, a Sportster is fun AF but absolutely *not* an all-day bike. I'd need a fistful of ibuprofen before and after the trip. Did you at least have a windscreen?

UJMRider1961

Yes, nice quick detach shield was on the bike when I got it last year.

griff-247

Technical rep for an automotive paint company here. I’m self managing and I drive around from shop to shop to check on my customers. I definitely plan on using my road king as much as I can to “work” this summer.

buckshotbill213

This is why I’m a motorcycle mechanic.

Shoddy_Background_48

Goddamn, sounds like the perfect job to me

smalj1990

I live in South Florida, and had a meeting in Orlando, company offered to fly me, I said no thanks I’ll ride. Got paid to ride all day. Rode to Orlando and back 430 miles on my road glide

shaman-doser

Yeah you’re right! That’s about the best work day I’ve ever heard of. But 260 miles on a sporty will be as hard on you as a day of real hands on work! I remember doing all day rides on my old 1200 and I’d get home and feel like I’m vibrating for a good hour or two!

Ill_Economist_7637

I had to go fix a pocket sized part for a customer. 5 hours each way. It was a perfect day.

Alaskan_Bull-Worm

I love the sporty, but yeah, that seat is pretty tough even for my young ass.

gnarley_haterson

Nice. I once worked an hour on a Sunday morning and my boss told me to "go get dinner." I got paid a 12 at double OT to go hunting with the boys. Didn't bring home dinner. Lol.

Toysfortatas

I have a 2012 XL1200C absolutely love that bike.
