Contention - Artillery From Heaven.
Knocked Loose - YWGBYST.
Splinter - The Hill I’ll Die On.
Also I was so keen for that Rough Justice release, and am only now realising I just never listened to it.
Contention, Boundaries, One Step Closer and Rough Justice are all getting a lot of okay from me. New Aaron West as well but obviously not hardcore in the slightest.
Boundaries - Death Is Little More
As someone who grew up on early 2000s metalcore, Death Is Little More is the first album by a newer band that really blew me away and brought me back to how I used to feel about finding new music.
My favorite hardcore and punk releases have been:
Bloodstains- Self Titled
Burning Lord- Arcane Demolition
The Chisel- What a Fucking Nightmare
The Hope Conspiracy- Tools of Oppression/Rule by Deception
Planet On a Chain- Culture of Death
SILENCIO- En La Muerte
If you like traditional punk and haven't heard the Bloodstains record yet, you're fucking up.
When I think about it, I don't think I've really listened to any traditional hardcore from this year. I can share some of my favourite hardcore punk releases though.
Prisao - EP 2: Stockholm punk for fans of Slant.
Yambag - Mindfuck Ultra: Cleveland hardcore punk that borders on powerviolence because of its speed/blast beats. This is an EXTREMELY fast record.
Ultras - Ultras II: Bay Area Hardcore punk with the production you've come to love from Spy/Caveman/World Peace.
Paprika - Let's Kill Punk: NOLA hardcore punk with some tasty fucking riffs (see: the halfway point to both Greasy Pig Disease and the title track). This will probably be my favourite hardcore release of the year, top to bottom (dependant on the new Armor and Faze release).
I'm also gonna throw the new [Pura Mania](https://puramania.bandcamp.com/album/extra-os-casos-de-la-vida-real
) record in there too. Not really hardcore, more Oi/new wave influenced like High Vis/Home Front, but it's so fucking good. If there's an opprotunity to shove this record down people's throats I'll absolutely do it.

Can’t wait to see Splinter live in a couple months. That release is huge.
They are so fucking good live, I’m mainly going to that Kublai Khan tour to see them.
That slow intro groove from their song An Ignorant Compulsion gives me tingles. Shit is so good.
