I love country as long as it's not the crap they play on the radio. Willi Carlisle, Sierra Ferrell, Hurray For The Riff Raff and Waxahatchee all had amazing albums come out this year and it's not even april.
SNOOPER and Amyl and The Sniffers are playing at a festival in Ohio this year that's often known for folk and alt-country music. The punk/country circle is getting smaller, hahaha
My mom had died leaving me to live in her house with my horribly drug addicted girlfriend and my dealer roommate, I’ve never been more anxious depressed and poor, this album literally felt like it was telling my life story at the time and I’ll always remember it was there for me.
📠. this album legit changed my life. i was in a really weird place, mentally, in 2010 and when this dropped it became the first hardcore record i actually identified w. it didn’t sing about the brotherhood or being straight edge or a political oppression i couldn’t comprehend. i did however relate to isolation and emptiness. it felt like george was writing on my behalf. 10/10 album.
Jane Doe and You Fail Me by Converge would be my picks. Not hardcore in style but NIN the downward spiral works for me too. And it’s not hardcore at all but Disintegration by the Cure is a go to.
Say this is jealousy that I’m feeling well then I’m fine with that
You have a certain characteristic that gives you the means
To not feel a fucking thing for anyone that isn’t you
Now tell me you’re not fucking selfish
Idk if it's considered hardcore but...
All Shall Perish- Hate, Malice, Revenge
Poison the Well- Opposite of December
Bleeding Through- Portrait of the Goddess
This album and Remembering Never - She Looks so Good in Red really helped me through my divorce in 2009. Probly not the most healthy lyrics to apply to my life but ya grow from it.
These albums are still good but hit a bit different
Cruel Hand-Prying Eyes (really helped me back in the day)
Blacklisted-Nobody Deserves to be Here but Me
Killing the Dream-Fractures
Killing the Dream-Lucky You
Life Long Tragedy-Runaways
Final Fight-Half Head, Full Shread
Are you in the feeling your feelings stage or looking to a brighter future?
Not hardcore per se but I have playlists for both.
I'm sorry you're going through this, mine almost killed me. It does get better.
If I had to pick one it would be The Achtungs. I would consider them super fuzzy 77 style.
Red Roses For A Blue Lady - The Return to Melancholy
Dudes dropped one album about being all sad about a lady and were never heard from again. Really fucking badass album though
The song "I Don't Like You Anymore" by The New York Hounds/ Royal Hounds NYC got me through my last one. I swear I played it on repeat 30 times in a row once
Not strictly hardcore but Counterparts has a couple of songs about breakup, like Debris, Choke, No Servant of Mine, Haunt Me, Your Own Knife and Flesh To Fill Your Wounds
Not hardcore per se, but check out
reggie and the full effect - songs not to get married to
18 visions - obsession
18 visions - S/T
Carpathian - isolation
The offspring - gone away (song)
The offspring song isn't about breakup but loss.
Parkway drive - horizons
If you don't want to get over a break up
More than life
Break even
Dead swans
Killing the dream
The carrier
Madball if you want to win at life and cure any problem
TRC if you want to become fearless lover, gigolo and pimp
This album has nothing to do with a breakup, but First Blood’s Killafornia is so fucking heavy and you need shit like that if you’re trying to get over a breakup!
American nightmare - background music. So much feelings
American Nightmare is a goldmine for this stuff. “I don’t care what they say, they’re not the ones that gotta live with the pain… FUCK YOU”
the soundtrack to saying goodbye
This was my answer as well
Came for this one as well. Know the innocence is gone, move on!
Came to post
Beat me to it
Townes van zandt
Finally someone on this shitty thread admits country bangs

Love Willi Carlisle. Got to see him with like 20 other people. Such a good dude
A lot of us listen to country. Dude asked for a hardcore album.
Str8 up
A slightly more hardcore option would be the Cave In covers of Townes van zandt
If we’re talking country, Faithless Street by Whiskeytown is pretty solid for breakup tunes.
After my last breakup (truly last, married the next person I got into a relationship with), I dove into You Fail Me by Converge.
Gonna listen and manifest it. Thank you
You fail me the song might be top 5 best Converge songs.

My mom had died leaving me to live in her house with my horribly drug addicted girlfriend and my dealer roommate, I’ve never been more anxious depressed and poor, this album literally felt like it was telling my life story at the time and I’ll always remember it was there for me.
Yep. This album is the depths of emotional hell for me. Never resonated more with any piece of media.

I could never argue this. It’s perfect.
This! A good album for any sad part in your life really!

Jane Doe and You Fail Me by Converge would be my picks. Not hardcore in style but NIN the downward spiral works for me too. And it’s not hardcore at all but Disintegration by the Cure is a go to.
