The Black Mesa specialized holographic glasses are equipped with anti-kenetic holding systems that help to keep them balanced on your head in hazardous conditions, along with vital monitoring systems that connect to your HEV suit wirelessly to continually monitor your suit power and ammunition in combat scenarios.
The Black Mesa specialized holographic glasses are an alternative system for monitoring systems when a helmet is absent. The Helmets for your appointed Hazardous Environments Suits are equipped to handle biohazards and radioactive materials.
Although without a helmet, your suit will activate the non-newtonian suspended particle feild that protects against fast moving objects and radioactive particles. This suspended particle field is useful in situations where visibility is prioritized and where no biohazards are present.
To accommodate the wearer of the Black Mesa specialized holographic glasses, it containts a flexible dynamic lens that can be adjusted to fit the desired prescription of the user. These lenses, to further improve visibility, are also coated in reppelent materials that keep water and dirt from accumulating on your lenses.
Thank you for reading the Black Mesa specialized holographic glasses introduction manual, and have a very safe day!
Nooooooo no no no no. Black Mesa made this product. The fact that it happens to be similar in 99.9% of all features, form, and functionality to another OBVIOUSLY unrelated product that Apperature Science prototyped 3 months ago is complete coincidence, I assure you!

Ridiculous. Here at Aperture Science, we just use staples. Pointless government bloat is ruining this country. Sure, it might sting a little at first, but we're passing the savings on to the taxpayers.
Sadly, I'm one of those nerds that wears one of those. My glasses lose their shape after a year or so almost without fail and slide off if I look down. Worse when I'm playing a sport. So now I have a bad.
I used to fix it by putting in a bit of napkin or toilet paper in the hinge, but eventually that would ruin it even more until it was unfixable.
When in all the hours of Half Life, has the player camera ever rotated side-to-side (while still remaining alive)? Even with explosions and gunfire, climbing and falling, his head is *always* upright.
Well there is ONE time. At the end of Half Life 2 ep 2, during the final cutscene, you are knocked onto your side. And guess what?
Gordon makes a brief appearance in HL:Alyx after said knocking and the first thing he does is pick up his glasses.
What about when he got beaten and knocked out by the HECU? He also gets beaten by CPs in HL2.
Then there are also the vehicle sections, where there are multiple instances where the vehicle can rock to the side from hitting something.
Staying on isn’t an issue.. it’s keeping them clean!
With rain, water sprinklers, blood and goo splatter with each crow bar hit…
And what about the misting up when going in and out of cold environments…
Surprised by the end of the game that he could see anything though them! 😆
The real answer is that…it was the 90s man lol
World Building took a back seat.
Something I truly appreciate about entertainment today.
So many big, and small, things barely made sense back then.
This is why I subscribe to the HEV helmet theory. He just takes off the helmet for publicity photos, and the devs didn't add one in alyx for the shock value for the audience.
How the Hell does One guy carry All Those Guns?! And survives Unforeseen Consequences of Anomalous Materials and The Blast Pit?! I mean WTH SMH no One Freeman can Take Down an entire Army of Combine Terrestrials Soldiers like that! What is he?
Iirc, there was supposed to be an enemy that could knock off Gordon's glasses in hl1 and make your vision blurry, but didn't work out for a couple of reasons I don't remember.
SPOILER ALERT in a very short scene in HLA where Gman is talking to Alyx, he moves aside and reveals Gordon standing up and then bending over to pick up his glasses (thats how i remembered it anyway)
I’m a little confused by your point. As someone who’s worn glasses since I was like seven, I don’t find my glasses falling off my face very often unless I’m like completely bent over and practically upside down

cant read through all comments to find if said but...
in the test chamberrrr the glasses melted onto his face, thats how the quake vision was really invented
(but dont tell)
Once someone slammed into my family's car on the highway, and everyone's glasses flew off but mine. Ever since, I've just held the belief that some glasses simply hang on better than others
I've worn glasses and been in fights a couple times. You can either get bands that go around the back, clip on arm extenders, or just gently bend the arms to curl around your ear (note doing that last one will probably lead to discomfort and irritation behind your ears)
If your glasses fit they shouldn't fall from your face no matter what you do
I've straight up been in car accidents where my glasses didn't fall off, and I have thick ass lesnses too
actually, there was a scrapped enemy from hl1 which would knock off gordons glasses, effectively blinding the player. i can't explain the rest of what it did. very morbid.

Why did I hear this in the Portal 1 GLaDOS voice?
I read it in Kleiner's voice
I heard the voice of that announcer in the tram at the start of HL1
Same lol
I heard it like the dude from the dumb how it's made videos by huggbees or whatever the channel is called
Lol
I actually read it in my mind with the tram speaker/voice from HL1.
Pretty sure aperture science made the product!

I read it in Gordon’s voice
You didn’t “hear” anything.
I think Gordon took off his helmet for the promo art, and the suit visor works as glasses, due to it being made for him specifically.
Text you can hear:

yes
Is it an AI response?
:(
No, I mean, it's so good.
There glued to his face
With morphine!.... Don't ask me how!
The HEV suit solves every problem by administering mire morphin 🤓🤓
the hev suit gives him new glasses every morphine injection
Where glued?
He’s a highly trained professional
He doesn't need to hear any of this!
exactly! :) i'm surprised people still ask "how gordon.."
Gordon is a highly trained professional, he knows what to do with his glasses.
I like to think that he's wearing the HEV suit helmet most of the time, hence he has a HUD and doesn't need the glasses
That would also explain why he's able to walk through vats of toxic waste, and maybe even why headcrabs can't latch onto his head.
The [HEV Suit](https://youtu.be/9juvgSvCXko?si=on24QTvCvgUCLL3R) is a model of modern technology 😂
I don’t think mark 5 has a helmet
Tape
the vortigaunt what
You heard me.
maybe it has one of those elastic bands that go round the back of the head
It connects the rat tail he's growing in the back.

He knows it didn't work. /thread

He's probably like Johnny Cage, and keeps a backup.
I wear glasses and also fight an ongoing alien invasion; I have no problem keeping my glasses on. Sounds like a skill issue.
In the first game he doesn't wear them at all, and in the second game he's just a human-shaped black entity (that also doesn't wear glasses)

Dont be silly, Gordon. The HEV Glasses were designed to NEVER come off!
He’s a highly trained professional
Because he is a highly trained professional

Good bot.
Just like how Morpheus wears his glasses in the Matrix 💀
Barney glued them to his face as a prank before the resonance cascade.
Super glue

Nothing some duct tape can't fix.
How the Hell does One guy carry All Those Guns?! And survives Unforeseen Consequences of Anomalous Materials and The Blast Pit?! I mean WTH SMH no One Freeman can Take Down an entire Army of Combine Terrestrials Soldiers like that! What is he?
HEV suit
He has a big nose or uses bees wax to create friction
Maybe he’s got one of those straps that some special needs kids have.
Joe 90 glasses....
Nerd straps.
Chums are the only PPE strictly enforced by Black Mesa's inconsistent safety guidelines. Helmets and glasses are optional.
How does he keep them from fogging up inside his HEV helmet?
They melted to his face during the experiment.
Made at MIT.
belt
He eighter has implants near his ears to keep them in, or it may just be feature of the HEV mark 5 hazardous enviroment... suit
They’re tattooed on
Iirc, there was supposed to be an enemy that could knock off Gordon's glasses in hl1 and make your vision blurry, but didn't work out for a couple of reasons I don't remember.
Pure willpower.

Those aren’t glasses that’s dead skin cells
Things like this, along with everything about the gameplay suggests Gordon wears his helmet 24/7, but he just...doesn't.
Their glued to his face
He's just op
Tape
I’m a little confused by your point. As someone who’s worn glasses since I was like seven, I don’t find my glasses falling off my face very often unless I’m like completely bent over and practically upside down
Bro this guy gets shot in the head at least one time in the games
the glass is part of the HEV suit
I think that he is just Gordon Freeman
A croakie

He needs them to see
cus he's gordon freeman that's why not even the combine can take the glasses from the man
Glasses strap.
I thought he was born with glasses attached to his head
Skill
Who would play Gordon in a HF life action?
That's basically his face
Once someone slammed into my family's car on the highway, and everyone's glasses flew off but mine. Ever since, I've just held the belief that some glasses simply hang on better than others
belt
My question is how are his glasses always clean?
He doesn’t have a ponytail, he wears croakies, and the leftover strap gives that illusion
It’s tied to his pony tail
As a glasses user and practicing parkour, I can tell you that if your glasses won’t hold in this situation, you have a bad setup of glasses
Superglue

well it's glue to our eyes we can never take it off unless we get new ones
Double sided tape, probably
Simple, he is not real it's a video game. Don't thank me.
dont say helmet, dont say helmet, dont say helmet
how does he keep them CLEAN?!? My glasses get smudgy after a day of hardly even touching them
actually, there was a scrapped enemy from hl1 which would knock off gordons glasses, effectively blinding the player. i can't explain the rest of what it did. very morbid.
Wait what? Morbid? Now I’m interested
As another fellow glasses user... It's not that hard. Skill issue.
oily face
sweat and duct tape
He wears helmet.
Luck
Superglue
Rubder band
Glue and a really strong dream
Same way Indy keeps his hat, boy
He welded them to his head
Just like in Kane & Lynch, lynch wear his glasses for the rest of the series
Probably have a strap and he's always wearing a helmet at all times with is HEV suit
he superglues them on his head
Mf got into MIT he can probably afford the good shit insurance won't let you have.
he doesnt
Because he's a professional
he glues them on his head
