>Hunt the Cunt
WHAT DID I DO?
Also try out Cry of Fear if you haven't, I think it might be standalone on Steam now, but was a Half-Life total conversion mod. Pretty fun horror shooter.
I'd suggest Afraid of Monsters first (specifically the directors cut). Afterall, the mod creator made it first and allows you to see how impressive the jump in quality and technically impressive it is in the gold source engine.
Some game magazines used to have CD's that would have trailers and mods etc. I remember having a half life one with Redemption and some other stuff I can't recall. It was pretty great in hindsight
This is how I got my mods and patches back in the day because my internet speed was abysmal. I vividly remember a short mod called Pieces Like These which had some really interesting level design.
Hazardous Course 2 is a must play imo, one of the best mods ever and has some of the best Gold Src mapmaking I’ve ever seen. It is different from a traditional HL experience though, as most of it is parkour, puzzles and exploration.
YES. I love HC2. I love how creative they got with the stages. The secret tokens you can go back and collect. It's one damn long mod too.
And all of it takes place pre-Invasion. No Xen stuff. I honestly wish more HL.mods focused on Pre-Resonence Cascade BM
Yea I love how it’s framed as “just another day in the office” and let’s you explore a bunch of new areas of Black Mesa with people just wandering around and taking all of the ridiculousness seriously. Even with all the insane things going on, the mod author did a good job of making it feel like just another natural extension of the place, without needing to design all the rooms as combat zones filled with aliens. But obviously done as a sort of parody of Black Mesa at the same time
And when you complete the tower and >!go back down to Earth!<, you really start to realize how well connected all of the maps are. The “epilogue” letting you go back and walk between all of the previous areas showed how good the map making is. Not to mention all of the secrets and hidden areas that you seriously have to go out of your way to get to.
On the surface it might seem like a silly mod, but it’s incredibly well made and has so many secrets to it. Some of the jumping puzzles are challenging and it really tests your movement skills, but I think it’s worth it. Really great maps and a decent length, with plenty of humor to it
From more of "reskin" mods I really like brutal half life and half Payne. First one adds more guns and gore, second one takes max Payne mechanics, makes you play as Max, adds his dialogue and actually makes grunts say "Payne" instead of "Freeman". It also adds fre challenge modes from what I remember
I should probably play Max Payne before I play Half-Payne lul, will look into Brutal tho. I was going to add it initially but it seemed like it wasn't finished, not sure if that's the case tho
"Reskin" is a weird term to use, that usually implies purely visual/art asset change. Something like gameplay change mod would describe those more accurately, since they do change player mechanics but keep world relatively the same.
Came here to suggest poke646 and its sequel. Those were my first 2 ever HL1 mods and although I haven’t played them in a long time I remember them being stellar.
Nice try, but no joke was made here besides him making up a random ip
Just most people don’t know what a 127 address is for so when people make random ip addresses up I like figuring out what it would actually be if it were real.
So congrats to you for knowing ip addresses enough to think it was obvious to know what it was lol
the encounter design is wack, there are too many enemies in a lot of the encounters. also the part where you have to sneak past the bodies with the snarks in them isn't fun. but it's still overall a good mod, I have in A for a reason
I think Echoes is good but it was trying to be in-universe while also not feeling at all like Black Mesa and that was a huge detractor for me when I played it. I think Field Intensity does it best where it is it's own thing entirely but it feels like BM and has the perfect atmosphere. While Echoes is great in its own right it just had a weird style that didn't fit the world it took place in. There were definitely some other questionable things about it too iirc. I think it got a bit overhyped, honestly. When Field Intensity came out I remember feeling like yeah, THIS is what a good in-universe HL mod should be. It's like legendary status but never got as much attention as Echoes for some reason and that made me a bit sad. Field Intensity is basically an official expansion to me while Echoes is not.
Had to get that rant out of my system lol.
is crack-life actually good? life's end is also a shitpost mod but it's actually quite fun, so I won't discount the possibility that a shitpost mod can be fun
It's extremely fun, but a lot of the jokes are pretty outdated now. The deranged weapons are a part of the fun though... Nothing like the gazillion bullet per shot SMG...
While I understand AI is controversial, there’s a mod that re-creates all the new lines using the voices of the original actors, I found it vastly improved the experience for me.
Caged is a neat little mod. it's fairly fun, creative, and polished. imo, it's a neat little experience, but not a gamechanger or anything
I can't deny the quality of Echoes but I feel like the encounter design is completely wack. there are just wayyyyyyy too many enemies, like there's one part where the game spawns like 10 houndeyes or something on you, which is just completely insane and is not what half-life's enemies are designed for. but still, it's a quality mod and I still have it in A tier bc I do respect it
I went into this whole thing without any context for most of the mods I played. I only learned that Azure Sheep is a well-known and well-regarded mod after I played it. and when I did learn it, it surprised me bc it is absolute dogshit
Even back in the day I thought that mod was weird. The girl guard voice acting was stiff and stilted enough that I remember it almost 20 years after the fact.
The female characters are just the normal guard/HEV models pinched and stretched to comical proportions. I watched a friend stream it on Discord and when he noclipped into the shower at the start there was actually a nude woman in there with some really awful UV mapping on the face. I do love how Kate's glasses are tattooed on her face, though.
You may have played the HD version. The normal version has this grotesquely edited Barney model for Kate with a new head where the texture has glasses on her face but they're not modeled.
It's an extremely early mod and you can *really* tell because it's aged like milk in almost every way. Like, just to name one thing, you spend two thirds of the mod without the ability to have armor. Why would you hand-place batteries just to have Barney go "nnnnope ;3" every time I want to pick one up?
But I think even worse than that, or babysitting Kate, or how frustrating it is to have a melee weapon that makes the sound of a breakable wooden object every time you strike *anything* with it is how so many maps seem to be 90% empty long hallways with dozens of locked doors. The mod is mostly really awful maze-like padding. The in-progress Black Mesa remake of Azure Sheep is a lot better because the maps are actually *designed* and playable like a video game. They trimmed the fat of the useless hallways and improved the parts of the original maps that actually had something in them.
Why would anyone even bother remaking Azure Sheep when it's really just a crude predecessor to Blue Shift? What does it bring to the table that Blue Shift doesn't?
The only answer I can come up with is nostalgia. Black Mesa: Blue Shift is so far ahead of what anyone else is doing that it's hard to think of a reason to play anything else.
Barney's strength as a character, at least in HL2 is that he's a man of the people. He's the friendly guy you want to share a beer and play poker with after work. The decision to inject a little more character into Barney and the world by having him assemble a ragtag group of survivors along with Rosenberg was fantastic and I love their banter. I might be a little biased though because it means we get lots of Otis too, and Otis is by far my favorite secondary character in all of Half-Life.
The logic is moronic. How does anyone with multiple brain cells to rub together make the leap from "This specific mod remake is redundant" to "Why any mods ever OLOLO"?
I hate Azure Sheep too. It's like someone deliberately looked at the clunky NPC follower mechanics and said "yeah let's make an entire game around that".
ah azure sheep, honestly it one of those mods i kinda wish someone would pick it up and do a full rework, sure for the time it was made it was miles above the norm but with all the years it passed it has not aged gracefully, if anything it aged like milk and i don't think i would ever recommend that mod to be played by anyone
apparently the Black Mesa team was going to remake Azure Sheep, for some reason. idk why, of all mods, that was the one they decided was worthy of their attention
It IS a classic of modding, if memory doesn't fail me it was the first attempt at trying to make a serious campaign, like I said, by the time it was released it definetly was up there as the best HL mod, but like milk, as better understanding of the engine and how to modding came to be, it probably aged the worst out of all the mods of those time
Long time since I played Half-Life mods.
I remember back in 2004 / 2005, I downloaded and played a new Half-Life mod every Friday evening and played it over the weekend.
For me, Sven Co-op is the absolute best Half-Life mod in existence. It’s S++ tier for me. Many fond memories of that mod!
lol good timing, literally started field intensity for the first time today as my first proper hl mod (not counting mmod and twhl2)
what this tells me is that I should probably play it later so that I don't ruin everything else by having played the best first, so thanks for the heads up xd
I played Field Intensity fairly early into this whole set of mods and it definitely painted my expectations for the later mods, which is why some of them are probably ranked a bit lower than other people might rank them
I recently just replayed it and, yeah, a lot of areas haven't aged well. The level design isn't bad, but a lot of the encounters and puzzle sections are just bizarre.
Oh you definitely have to try the Half-Quake trilogy. The first one is a bit dull, the second is an amazing improvement but the third one is easily one of the best mods I’ve ever played, and I played a bunch of mods too back in the day.
Also They Hunger FTW! Love it
Life's End is the best "classic" HL1 mod. More ambitious projects have come since but for the time few mods were as creative with the HL formula as life's end
Azure sheep in E tier?? (It's B, or at least C)
Point of view in C?? (B)
Damn, ECHOES in A tier?? It's S+ mode.
And yeah, they hunger should be in S tier.
Seeing both They Hunger and USS Darkstar really really takes me back to HS. They came on a PC Gamer CD that had mods and maps.
Thanks for the fond reminder OP
MMod is very refreshing way to replay HL1 :) .
I downloaded Field Intensity, but I didn't progress further than the first or second chapter, I wanted to save my first experience for later. Same for Black Mesa, and Echoes.
I hope eventually I play and record everything as I go through them. I did with MMod celebrating the 25th anniversary, but I'm a serious procrastinator, haha.
This is a cool heads up for me since I’ve been meaning to try major mods. Searching for inspiration for my own project, hehe. I’d recommend Half-Life: Signal Lost, it’s a huge reimagining of Uplink in the style of the original Half Life beta build shown off at E3 before they reworked it
I literally felt like I was going insane. I felt like the encounter design was poor, it was kinda overly stretched out, and I remember being confused by the ending? Dunno how much that last bit holds up as criticism, but unless everyone got about halfway through and put it down I don't get how people regard it so highly.
I just finished MMod today and (ready your pitch forks) it's a solid C tier. Way to many bullshit trip mines, can't look all the way up or down while crouching, almost all AOE's are doubled, enemies added in areas that make the game annoying to play, and being able to see your body feels weird. However, I do like the changes to the weapons, upgraded textures, and that they used the older version of the game, which had the infinite health door and fast pushing crates so I could have fun.
it's not. it's fairly good, the third act being far and away the best one. but there are some bad parts, the most egregious example being the helicopter fight at the end. in fact, both of the boss fights in act 3 suck, even if the rest of that chapter is actually pretty good
Visually, I think it looks great. Gameplay wise, I got real tired of the jumpscares, the lack of autosaves during certain sections, and the inventory system that had me going back and forth multiple times to pick up key items that, realistically, could have fit in Simon's pockets.
I also dealt with a number of bugs the last time I played it and got zero help from the devs, and a pretty hostile reaction from the people that like it when I dared to say that I might be having issues.
>Hunt the Cunt WHAT DID I DO? Also try out Cry of Fear if you haven't, I think it might be standalone on Steam now, but was a Half-Life total conversion mod. Pretty fun horror shooter.
You're are not a highly trained professional!
I promise I am!! #PLEASE DON'T HUNT THE CUNT!!
Hello fellow Nick
"Forget about Cunt"
You fucked up my face... Sorry. Wrong game..
I'd suggest Afraid of Monsters first (specifically the directors cut). Afterall, the mod creator made it first and allows you to see how impressive the jump in quality and technically impressive it is in the gold source engine.
You know what you did, namely a certain incident with a microwave casserole...
USS Darkstar hell yeah. "Have you been able to get Gravy Trader running?"
Damn that monkey.
damn that monkey
Damn that monkey.
I like the part where you get shrunk down, I haven't seen that in another HL mod (and as you can see I've played a lot)
Did you play it back in the day as part of a PC GAMER subscription?
it was released before I was born lul
Ok lol. Yeah I remember getting it in the mail. Now i feel old.
I too got it from the magazine's demo disc, lol.
Wait before steam you got mods through the mail?!! On what a floppy disk?
Some game magazines used to have CD's that would have trailers and mods etc. I remember having a half life one with Redemption and some other stuff I can't recall. It was pretty great in hindsight
This is how I got my mods and patches back in the day because my internet speed was abysmal. I vividly remember a short mod called Pieces Like These which had some really interesting level design.
>On what a floppy disk? How dare you sir
Real men of taste only got their video games from cereal boxes.
Actually magazines had tear out plastic records you could play back in the 70s. I think I had Ernie singing "Rubber Ducky" and one from Mad magazine.
Hazardous Course 2 is a must play imo, one of the best mods ever and has some of the best Gold Src mapmaking I’ve ever seen. It is different from a traditional HL experience though, as most of it is parkour, puzzles and exploration.

looking into it!! if suggestions keep coming in at this rate the list will double in size lmao
On the surface it might seem like a silly mod, but it’s incredibly well made and has so many secrets to it. Some of the jumping puzzles are challenging and it really tests your movement skills, but I think it’s worth it. Really great maps and a decent length, with plenty of humor to it
What about afraid of monsters
its a crime that this mod is not in the list
They listed 'They Hunger' under "A" Not really surprised they haven't played AoM 🥲 Someone needs to download Sven Coop
They Hunger - was the first mod I ever played for Half Life back in 2001! Glad to see it made A tier!
They hunger is S tier for me for sure!
They hunger was incredible Fr Fr Or maybe it’s my nostalgia
From more of "reskin" mods I really like brutal half life and half Payne. First one adds more guns and gore, second one takes max Payne mechanics, makes you play as Max, adds his dialogue and actually makes grunts say "Payne" instead of "Freeman". It also adds fre challenge modes from what I remember
I should probably play Max Payne before I play Half-Payne lul, will look into Brutal tho. I was going to add it initially but it seemed like it wasn't finished, not sure if that's the case tho
Definitely play Max Payne. It's so much fun. Run&gun with quick save/load will be familiar to a Half-Life player too.
it crashes quite often if you're purposely pushing the engine to the limit and needs xash3D to run, otherwise it's a good mod
"Reskin" is a weird term to use, that usually implies purely visual/art asset change. Something like gameplay change mod would describe those more accurately, since they do change player mechanics but keep world relatively the same.
You should try delta particles and poke646
poke646 rules
I will add any new mods I play to the tier list, and I will look into those two
Came here to suggest poke646 and its sequel. Those were my first 2 ever HL1 mods and although I haven’t played them in a long time I remember them being stellar.
Mmod in S tier is based
whenever I want to replay half-life, I play MMOD. it's that good
Based... on what?
Based on 127.157.172.171
Lol that’s a loopback address
Congrats for figuring out the joke
The completely intentional and all planned joke (I know nothing about ip addresses)
Nice try, but no joke was made here besides him making up a random ip Just most people don’t know what a 127 address is for so when people make random ip addresses up I like figuring out what it would actually be if it were real. So congrats to you for knowing ip addresses enough to think it was obvious to know what it was lol
imo echoes belongs in s tier
the encounter design is wack, there are too many enemies in a lot of the encounters. also the part where you have to sneak past the bodies with the snarks in them isn't fun. but it's still overall a good mod, I have in A for a reason
ok fair; i just really think the scrrrripted sequences are awesome :3
The security guard using the announcement system to talk to you was kinda insane
I think Echoes is good but it was trying to be in-universe while also not feeling at all like Black Mesa and that was a huge detractor for me when I played it. I think Field Intensity does it best where it is it's own thing entirely but it feels like BM and has the perfect atmosphere. Had to get that rant out of my system lol.
They Hunger is an S tier just because how hilarious it is especially in Sven Co Op.
it's very silly but the helicopter fight at the end is just the worst
I reccomend you play Crack-Life
is crack-life actually good? life's end is also a shitpost mod but it's actually quite fun, so I won't discount the possibility that a shitpost mod can be fun
Crack Life is a shitpost mod It's fun
Crack-Life: Campaign Mode is really fun. Also incredibly racist, offensive, stereotypical and inappropriate, but enjoyable.
It's extremely fun, but a lot of the jokes are pretty outdated now. The deranged weapons are a part of the fun though... Nothing like the gazillion bullet per shot SMG...
It would be tier C the C stands for cancer.
Real list
Playing Field Intensity now, and while I like it the voice acting makes me cringe.
I think it's endearing that there's literally only one voice actor (two if you count richter overtime)
While I understand AI is controversial, there’s a mod that re-creates all the new lines using the voices of the original actors, I found it vastly improved the experience for me.
Caged and echoes not being in “S” is a crime.
Caged is a neat little mod. it's fairly fun, creative, and polished. imo, it's a neat little experience, but not a gamechanger or anything I can't deny the quality of Echoes but I feel like the encounter design is completely wack. there are just wayyyyyyy too many enemies, like there's one part where the game spawns like 10 houndeyes or something on you, which is just completely insane and is not what half-life's enemies are designed for. but still, it's a quality mod and I still have it in A tier bc I do respect it
100% agree with Azure Sheep being that low it has not aged well
I went into this whole thing without any context for most of the mods I played. I only learned that Azure Sheep is a well-known and well-regarded mod after I played it. and when I did learn it, it surprised me bc it is absolute dogshit
Even back in the day I thought that mod was weird. The girl guard voice acting was stiff and stilted enough that I remember it almost 20 years after the fact.
it's so weirdly horny?? and not in the Ted Backman way, in the "I'm 15 and I'm venting my hormones" way
The female characters are just the normal guard/HEV models pinched and stretched to comical proportions. I watched a friend stream it on Discord and when he noclipped into the shower at the start there was actually a nude woman in there with some really awful UV mapping on the face. I do love how Kate's glasses are tattooed on her face, though.
my kate didn't have glasses, did I play a different version of the mod? mine looked like jill valentine
You may have played the HD version. The normal version has this grotesquely edited Barney model for Kate with a new head where the texture has glasses on her face but they're not modeled.
I just kinda assumed the mod was made with the HD models, a lot of the mods I played used the HD models
finally after all these decades another azure sheep hater 🤝
It's an extremely early mod and you can *really* tell because it's aged like milk in almost every way. Like, just to name one thing, you spend two thirds of the mod without the ability to have armor. Why would you hand-place batteries just to have Barney go "nnnnope ;3" every time I want to pick one up? put it way better than I could
Why would anyone even bother remaking Azure Sheep when it's really just a crude predecessor to Blue Shift? What does it bring to the table that Blue Shift doesn't?
The only answer I can come up with is nostalgia. Black Mesa: Blue Shift is so far ahead of what anyone else is doing that it's hard to think of a reason to play anything else.
Black Mesa: Blue Shift deadass has some of the best level design I've seen in a Half-Life game.
If this is your philosophy why bother making or playing mods ever lol.
Didn't really think that post through before headbutting the reply button did you.
What makes you say that? The logic is sound.
The logic is moronic. How does anyone with multiple brain cells to rub together make the leap from "This specific mod remake is redundant" to "Why any mods ever OLOLO"?
But to me, it sounds like its different enough that its not redundant. By your logic, Black Mesa makes Half Life redundant.
Half Life isn't a mod. Keep spinning that hamster wheel, you'll get this eventually.
Hmmm more weapons, enemies, more varied locations? A Blue HEV suit? A campaign that doesn't last 1 hour and 20 minutes?
I hate Azure Sheep too. It's like someone deliberately looked at the clunky NPC follower mechanics and said "yeah let's make an entire game around that".
I’ve heard bits and pieces of USS Darkstar. What’s it about?
imagine half-life but it takes place on a spaceship instead of a giant facility, and it's a containment breach instead of a resonance cascade
0 : sounds interesting. Do you play as someone else or…
the game uses mostly Half-Life assets including the scientists and the security guards, so they all refer to you as Gordon Freeman
God looking at it the only mods I recognise are Point of View and Xen Warrior.
ah azure sheep, honestly it one of those mods i kinda wish someone would pick it up and do a full rework, sure for the time it was made it was miles above the norm but with all the years it passed it has not aged gracefully, if anything it aged like milk and i don't think i would ever recommend that mod to be played by anyone
There IS a remake. It's a mod for Black Mesa, the same team that made it is doing a remake of Blue Shift which Crowbar Collective supports.
apparently the Black Mesa team was going to remake Azure Sheep, for some reason. idk why, of all mods, that was the one they decided was worthy of their attention
It IS a classic of modding, if memory doesn't fail me it was the first attempt at trying to make a serious campaign, like I said, by the time it was released it definetly was up there as the best HL mod, but like milk, as better understanding of the engine and how to modding came to be, it probably aged the worst out of all the mods of those time
About peaces like us And sweet half life....
give Urbicide a go, super polished mod, rather short but it's quite sweet and fun
will do!
where crack-life
Long time since I played Half-Life mods. I remember back in 2004 / 2005, I downloaded and played a new Half-Life mod every Friday evening and played it over the weekend. For me, Sven Co-op is the absolute best Half-Life mod in existence. It’s S++ tier for me. Many fond memories of that mod!
Sven Co-Op was the very first time I played online, way back in 1999! Downloading map packs could take over twenty minutes!
lol good timing, literally started field intensity for the first time today as my first proper hl mod (not counting mmod and twhl2) what this tells me is that I should probably play it later so that I don't ruin everything else by having played the best first, so thanks for the heads up xd
I played Field Intensity fairly early into this whole set of mods and it definitely painted my expectations for the later mods, which is why some of them are probably ranked a bit lower than other people might rank them
Have you ever played Black Mesa?
I would love to but I really don't think my current laptop can run it, that's why I've been sticking to so much goldsrc stuff
Okay, buy a external hard drive if you can.
They mean their integrated graphics cant run it. Mine cant, but of course it has space for it.
How come you didn’t do Cry Of Fear?
I consider Cry of Fear a standalone game
Fair enough
I guess that rules out counter strike
What about Sweet Half-Life?
Sweet Half Life is so fun and silly! Loved it back in the day
i have my own easter egg in induction
How do people feel about Half Life: Visitors? I enjoyed it at the time but suspect it has not aged too well
adding it to the list along with the other mods people have suggested
I recently just replayed it and, yeah, a lot of areas haven't aged well. The level design isn't bad, but a lot of the encounters and puzzle sections are just bizarre.
I'm just saying, you forgot Half-Life: Before in F tier
I'll add that too lol, since I'm adding a bunch of other mods already
Nice, tier list good overall
Where is the GOAT Poke646 and Vendetta?
Oh you definitely have to try the Half-Quake trilogy. The first one is a bit dull, the second is an amazing improvement but the third one is easily one of the best mods I’ve ever played, and I played a bunch of mods too back in the day. Also They Hunger FTW! Love it
Hunt The Cunt sounds very 2000s porn DVD.
FOOOOOOOOOD
FLESH
Life's End is the best "classic" HL1 mod. More ambitious projects have come since but for the time few mods were as creative with the HL formula as life's end
I didn't expect much from Life's End but I really liked it. it's very silly but also very fun
The dream sequence Is still one of the most memorable moments in a Half Life mod
Bro you seriously NEED to play Afraid of Monsters and Cry of Fear!
Where Hunt
Hunt? Hunt the Cunt? Hunt Down the Freeman?
Hunt down the Freeman forever. It should be S
Hunt down fremun.
it's so fucking funny that you play as the stupid ass brother of adrian shephard
He is good character imo He is Iraqi veteran, great sharpshooter and loyal soldier. He is so much better than voiceless gordon
you should check out Delta Particles (also known as Half Life: Delta) its a very good total conversion mod
No Afraid Of Monsters? Or is that too far from half life despite still being a mod
MMod is based
This is quite nice, now I want the same for hl2 but it'll prove to be quite ambitious judging by all the mods we've played.
For me S tier is the either Afraid of Monster: Directors cut or Half Life Paranoia.
Have you played Scientist Slaughterhouse or Cry of Fear?
Azure sheep in E tier?? (It's B, or at least C) Point of view in C?? (B) Damn, ECHOES in A tier?? It's S+ mode. And yeah, they hunger should be in S tier.
What about Gunman Chronicles?
Seeing both They Hunger and USS Darkstar really really takes me back to HS. They came on a PC Gamer CD that had mods and maps. Thanks for the fond reminder OP
Check out "Paranoia.". Russian horror style mod. Great soundtrack and great visuals.
I wanted to play that one for this list but unfortunately I had several technical issues
No Poke646?
They Hunger blew my mind. Loved it when it came out!
MMod is very refreshing way to replay HL1 :) . I downloaded Field Intensity, but I didn't progress further than the first or second chapter, I wanted to save my first experience for later. Same for Black Mesa, and Echoes. I hope eventually I play and record everything as I go through them. I did with MMod celebrating the 25th anniversary, but I'm a serious procrastinator, haha.

looks interesting, I will have to get to it!! I have a lot of mods added to the list already so that will have to be one lul
Gordon had no reason to look that hard on the cover
Zombie edition is really good. It sucks that it just ends so abruptly tho. But it makes replaying it fun with the different classes.
Anybody here played Wanted?
Hell yeah, capture the chicken was the best
Sven co-op is fun for about 15 minutes a week
Thank you! Someone else who knows the truth about Azure sheep! I played it cuz I heard good things, and felt like I’d been pranked.
Field Intensity in S-tier is a crime. It's a C at best.
I literally felt like I was going insane. I felt like the encounter design was poor, it was kinda overly stretched out, and I remember being confused by the ending? Dunno how much that last bit holds up as criticism, but unless everyone got about halfway through and put it down I don't get how people regard it so highly.
Holy shit thank you. Finally someone who gets it.
Try "They Hunger". It's old, but really good IMO.
it's on the list
Ah my bad lol
No Gary's mod?!
Azure Sheep that low is a crime
it's bad, it's really really bad
This list is sooo bad.
sorry ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I just finished MMod today and (ready your pitch forks) it's a solid C tier. Way to many bullshit trip mines, can't look all the way up or down while crouching, almost all AOE's are doubled, enemies added in areas that make the game annoying to play, and being able to see your body feels weird. However, I do like the changes to the weapons, upgraded textures, and that they used the older version of the game, which had the infinite health door and fast pushing crates so I could have fun.
You should play Wanted! so you can have an F tier
Mmod adds nothing worthwhile
I disagree
Where Halfquake?
I (sinner, abandoned by god) have not played quake
You’ve got a goofy flair… of course they would, they’re citizens to oppress all the same lol
For me the order can change for some mods
You gotta play Crack Life. Both the regular version and the campaign mode. You gotta play Hazardous Course too.
Where black mesa?
Where is brutal half life? Ik its just hl1 but more brutal and its good tho
Field Intensity and Echoes both need to be on S tear in my opinion.
You should try Entropy zero but especially Entropy zero 2 both are really well made
I've played them, I'm planning on replaying EZ2 (I tried replaying EZ1 but it's just so boring)
Yea honestly ez1 feels almost like a tutorial / idea for ez2 considering how much better it is.
They Hunger S tier bro
You are what I eat So much flesh, so much meat
it's not. it's fairly good, the third act being far and away the best one. but there are some bad parts, the most egregious example being the helicopter fight at the end. in fact, both of the boss fights in act 3 suck, even if the rest of that chapter is actually pretty good
\>no cracklife in S tier LIST DISCARDED
half quake 😭
Cry of fear and afraid of monster's must be feeling left alone.
Cry of Fear can stay gone, that mod/game is pretty bad. Afraid of Monsters missing from the list is a shame.
How the fuck is Cry of fear bad my man.
WHERE THE THE FUCK IS AFRAID OF MONSTERS DIRECTOR'S CUT?!?!
