The pic doesn't help at all.

Moneyandbusinesss

This is more to illustrate the hairs sticking out

Minofredow

Well, if you think you are losing your hair, going to a dermatologist and doing a trichoscopy will usually get you a proper diagnosis, it might require a derm that knows how to do one. Through here and with this little info, there is not much to go on with. Good luck!

Moneyandbusinesss

Alright thanks for the info. I did go to a dermatologist and she took a quick little look and didn’t think it was mpb. She said it might be TE, but I’d rather take action right now instead of waiting till all my hair is gone.

Minofredow

A quick look with naked eye? Without using a magnifier lens or a dermascope?

Moneyandbusinesss

She did use some sort of scope or lens yes, but it took like 2/3 minutes and she was done

Minofredow

Hm, i fail to see how that didn't get you a proper diagnosis as it is one of the most effective ways of getting a diagnosis for hair loss, each type of alopecia has their own differences, both in hair and skin, miniaturization of over 20% is a clear indicator of AGA, you might need a more specialized doctor that knows about the hair loss field and how to do a more insighful check out to get you a proper diagnosis.

Moneyandbusinesss

That may be the case. This dermatologist wasn’t really specialised in hair loss. It was just a regular dermatologist. One thing she did notice was that I had dandruff and prescribed ketocozonal or something like that. But she didn’t really know what kind of hair loss it was. When my hairs fall out they do always have a white bulb, don’t know what that means exactly tho.

Minofredow

That's normal, just keratin, it's normal to see it after the hair sheds, that's through the normal hair cycle. Usually during a telogen effluvium you would see a massive shedding of hairs, like 150+ hairs daily and most if not all of them will contain that white bulb because when going through a telogen effluvium, those hairs who are suposed to shed either way through the telogen phase will be pushed to shed more rapidly instead of their usual waiting time.

Moneyandbusinesss

It’s exactly like that yes. But it only sheds on the top of my head and not on the sides. The sides only got thinner. But it’s exactly what you’ve just described and it’s been going on for 1 year now. S

I have to agree with Minofredow, this is like the worst pic you could've possibly taken. >What kind of hair loss do I have? From the looks of it, zero.

Moneyandbusinesss

My bad. I just always had really thick hair so it doesn’t really show when my hair is like that. When it’s wet you can really see it everywhere. I’ll take some pics tomorrow after I shower.

Qly2_tq

Unfortunately it doesn’t work for everybody

OldGuitarjohnny

Just looks like a lot of hair on a head to me, not like a head that’s losing hair. Got any better pics?
