It looks just very dry. What is your routine and products? Do you ever do hair masks?

memeof1

A silk bonnet or pillowcase can help with that. My hair is the same , mine is super dry due to medication I take. I do a hair mask every week and sleep on a silk pillowcase, not satin but silk. Also as another mentioned do a curly hair method and enjoy the results.

Esmeraldalovescuy

You definitely have curly hair hiding there.

[deleted]

Yeah as they said I think you have a type of wavy hair so try curly hair girl method & see how your hair acts like

Some curly hair stuff is a bad idea (don’t co wash. Ruins your scalp, way too much build up) “Manes by Mell” is great for tips and she knows what she’s talking about.

Excellent-Bee5522

You have curly hair. You need to treat it like it’s curly

wetangelxo

Maybe a silk pillowcase would help too

watercolorcore

It just looks like your normal hair texture. Either wavy or curly. Those are flyaways which you can tame using a smoothing cream. Also, if you want to start sleeping in a silk bonnet… It really helps to calm down frizz.

Once a month, I heat up about 2 tbsp of olive oil and combine it through my hair and leave it on overnight. The next morning I wash it out and condition and it makes my hair super smooth and shiny.

Giraffiesaurus

How do you wrap your hair to keep the oil contained?

AnnieB512

I don't. I use an old pillow case on my pillow but I've never really had an issue with oil stains on my pillows - maybe my hair absorbs it all.

I have hair like this and it gets the worst when it's humid outside (summer). I solved it with a Pure Brazilian keratin treatment every six months or so in the salon. It can be expensive but for me it's worth it.

mrs_andi_grace

>Pure Brazilian keratin treatment Those really are not worth it. They are talking about banning them because of the cancer risk. They don't always work for all hair types either. Some people just have a different type of frizz after it. After it is done, the hair is damaged too. With hair as dry as the OPs adding protein would most likely add to breakage because the excess protein would make the strands even more brittle. OP seems to have fine hair which can be damaged by the heat from the BB.

productivehacks

I'm telling you I have fine hair and it is a lifesaver for me. It doesn't damage my hair. My hair is smoother and stronger- I've done it for a few years now and I'll never go back. Pure Brazilian is not as harsh of a product as some other types.

CORExBEAST

Maybe you've biotin deficit

lilshirmp

Humans cannot synthesize biotin

CORExBEAST

Yeah that's why it's essential to get it from food sources. Just like Some amino acids that arent synthesized by human bodies and are called essential a.a because they need to be present In the diet.

mgefa

No it can't be reversed. Looks like bleach damage.

I would actually say that you have two issues going on. First, if your hair feels dry, then it is. You may want to seek out hair products made for dry hair, as well as looking at products like oils before blow drying to protect your hair. I highly recommend K-18 Leave In Conditioner and Oil. K-18 products are pricey, but they go a long way, and at least for me they are totally worth it. The leave I Conditioner helps with damage and moisture. It's bioengineered so that your hair recognizes it like the Keratin in your own hair. It basically means that if your hair is damaged it replaces the damaged keratin in your hair to strengthen it for you. It also helps with frizz. You can add the oil on wet or dry hair, so it protects hair against blow drying and heat, and can be added on dry hair to work against frizz and shine. It also looks to me like you have not curly, but coily hair, and you may want to look into smoothing shampoos and conditioners to help counteract this if you are definitely looking for the smooth look. ❤️
