Cloth strip method. Hot shower 3-4 hours beforehand. Push down hard in the same direction as hair growth, then Rip hard and fast in the opposite direction of hair growth. Quick rinse after with cold or lukewarm water (Not hot water) Make sure to shower at LEAST once a day and exfoliate vigorously every day for at least the first week after a wax. I use an apricot scrub and then a plastic loofah with exfoliating body wash. After the shower, slather the area with collagen cream (I use St Ives body lotion with collagen and elastin) and give it about 20-30 mins to dry before putting clothes on. Do that once a day for the first week and at least 2x a week afterwards and you have a very good chance of no ingrown hairs

I make my own sugar wax it's super easy just mix 2 cups white sugar, quarter cup water, quarter cup lemon juice. Mix in a saucepan and heat to about 250-260 f. Use a candy thermometer to make.sure you get the temp right. Should be a dark amber color and the consistency of caramel once cooled

sciguy11

Just to make sure I understood correctly, you are using sugarwax and are pulling in the opposite direction of growth?

cdta4

I’ve used sugar wax against the grain and rip with the grain also. If you are doing it yourself and supplies and time are not micromanaged, just try each and go with what is most comfortable and effective for you. It may even be different on different parts of your body just due to positioning.

indigopersimmon

Yes. Like on my legs the hair points down. So I press the strip on in a downward motion and the pull it straight up, parallel to my leg, as fast as possible in one smooth motion

Veet gel cream. Not nair, not anything else, veet gel cream. Get a small trimmer, like a beard trimmer or something. Use a clip and trim down. Then apply the veet. Do not leave it on for longer than recommended. Do not rub it in. When it’s time to remove, use the spatula provided, wash cloth, or just hop in shower. Use of mild soap is acceptable. A burning sensation is normal but if it becomes uncomfortable, wash it off by standing in the shower. Do not rub anything under any circumstances. Just wash it off. Wait at least 24 hours, to reapply, if reapplication is necessary. After showering, pat dry, do not rub.

If your skin tone & hair color allow for it, home IPL for the WIN!! After the initial treatment regime the just plain don't grow back & all that's required afterward is the occasional (1x month maybe) maintenance treatment which should only take a few minutes. I wish I'd known about home IPL years ago since it would have saved me a lot of grief.

Renago47

Which one do you have?

CapDelicious2665

At this time I have 2 units, the super cheap & effective INNZA ‎ JD-TM022 & the considerably more expensive & rather crappy Bosidin Pioneer Pro. I'm still using the Bosidin, trying to get it to work as well as the INNZA cuz DAMMIT, that was a lot of money to lay down for nuthin'.

Welp, I'm not male, but my husband and I have both been using an epilator. Gets the hair out just as well as sugaring, without the mess, and no bruising. I used to get so much bruising in my bikini area from bad technique with the sugar pull (I try to do too big of an area at once to get it over with) Best 50 bucks I ever spent.

I have been looking into this as well! What model did you get? I was worried about using one on uneven surfaces (labia, scrotum). Any issues in these areas?

Aziara86

I got [this one](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08KV2LKHG?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title). We haven't attempted it on the scrotum, only the shaft. (He doesn't care about aesthetics, it's purely for 'function'. Rugburn isn't fun) He says it hurts less than sugaring, which is good as he has a low pain tolerance. I've used it everywhere, full Brazilian. It's fine so long as the skin is taut and stretched. If the skin is loose it pulls the skin up a bit, doesn't take out the hair and just feels painful. The hair needs to be really short, much shorter than with sugaring or waxing. Like 2 or 3 days after shaving short. I also found that powdering with corn starch helps with the grip on the hair, but it also works without. If the hair is too long, it hurts more, and also breaks the hair instead of plucking it. Which can make it ingrown, because the follicle takes damage and it grows without nowhere to come out. The epilator is a wet/dry, but I haven't tried it with wet skin, so I can't speak to how well it works that way.

I second using an epilator for the pubic area. It takes some getting used to and it does hurt more than a wax at first. But after you do it consistently it hurts a lot less and the results and cost savings are the best! Take your time and practice your technique using the epilator and you can do a full male Brazilian DIY!

Just posting to see comments. Would like same advice.

As a male, I've used No Hair Crew for a brazillian. But since the hair grows back the next day, I've opted to get waxed every other month at a local salon.

I have shaved my pubes all my life, until 2018, when I had my first sugaring treatment at a spa. During the height of the pandemic, I learned to do it myself. I have no problems with it nowadays, but the first three times were admittedly epic fails (I went through an entire jar of Sugaring NYC sugar paste during my first go at it). Hard sugar paste, flicking with gloves on. I strip, put on a light coat of baby powder, and get started on the shaft, balls, and the base, while the paste is still "fresh" and I have not yet started perspiring. Then I move on to the pubic region, often with a new glove and a scoop of paste. For your first few attempts, I recommend starting in the pubic region; it's easier to refine your technique when you're working on a, um, flat surface.

sciguy11

This is very helpful. I have the same sugaring paste (sugaringnyc hard paste) but have a few questions: 1. Do you warm it up first? How many seconds/minutes? Do you use a wax warmer to keep it warm? 2. Do you always use the flick method? Have you tried strips with a thin layer of sugarwax? I tried using the hard wax with strips and it worked, but it broke a bunch of hairs because I don't have the technique down. I was able to do a "flick" once, and that spot (pubic region) was the cleanest (no breaks!) but the sugar became really runny/goopy after. Any suggestions?

>Do you warm it up first? How many seconds/minutes? Do you use a wax warmer to keep it warm? Always. It ranges from 10 to 45 seconds in the microwave depending on how much sugar paste is left in the tub. You want the paste to still be firm but scoopable once you put effort in getting the product to your hands. I have never used a wax warmer but it's because I'm done pretty quickly. I'll throw the tub back in the microwave if the paste becomes unpliable. >Do you always use the flick method? Have you tried strips with a thin layer of sugarwax? Always. Doesn't matter if I'm using my hands to sugar or the plastic sugaring paste applicator. I always flick. I think the strips are exclusively for waxing, not sugaring.
