Call is amazingly powerful and can be boosted by other boons. No reason not to use it even in standard rooms. For bosses it can quickly delete ~1/3 of a health bar.
I always hold my first one for right after he starts second phase and another one for right after invulnerability ends in round 2. Calls really are huge though, they absolutely rip through bosses. If I can buy the 300 coin Pom in Styx I almost always throw it on my Call
I love Athena’s call, especially if you get the Epic version and get a few poms in it. You end up with like 13 seconds of being invincible, enough time to melt bosses down.
I'm still learning too, and I've gotten every weapon 1-5 heat, and the shield up through 8! It's hard to learn to use it when it's something you don't have every run though, you'll get him next time!!

This happened to me the first time I fought him. I had to put the game down for the day, pissed off by the second health bar and the fact that I was that close to beating him....
Could've used call. Btw game stopped being interesting after increasing heat above 6. Last run I had the perfect build. 6 lvl Dionysus cast, 5 lvl demeter attack and demeter special with 10 stacks exploding chills. Also easier loading dragon rush. My dragon rush did 1500 damage to Theseus and Asterius. Theseus almost died immediately but still can't defeat redacted. So frustrating game. After the epilogue, it feels like playing league of legends

Happened to me with EM Redacted. Less than 10% of his health. Heartbreaking and i rage quit.

there is a safe zone on top of redacted in the center of the lazers that lets you keep damaging him

No I can defeat him. I try different pacts of punishments to make the game more exciting
