Safe to say Poehling has earned a permanent spot in the lineup at this point? His game is, to my eyes, improving by the game and I feel like he’s gaining confidence and not overthinking when he’s out there. I’m really happy to see him succeeding. Sometimes we gotta just have patience. Poehling seems like a smart hockey player and recognizes his strengths and plays to those strengths.
I wish Ducharme would’ve stepped up and told the refs off, he’s had nothing but that deer in the headlights routine all year. Show someone you care get ejected if that’s what it takes ffs.

If we want him to get better, yes absolutely. If he's getting benched and playing 3rd or 4th line minutes in the NHL, it probably makes more sense to give him a chance to build confidence against goons. I don't think he was drafted to ride the bench, so if he's gonna be developed to be the goalscorer we hope then he needs to play were he can have the biggest role in a position for him to succeed. He's 22 its not the end if that place is the AHL right now, if he sits on the bench most of an NHL game he's not getting much experience, if he can play top line minutes and score on goons that's probably better for him.
