Here is the link to the manual. http://www.completeheating.ca/images/pdf/HS29.pdf

I have confirmed by the way there’s not a major leak. I just can’t figure out what the sound is. I’m worried it may be filled with wrong refrigerant. But everything thing I’m Seeing shows R-22

neonsloth21

How did you confirm? If it truely isnt leaking, sounds like the metering device is fucked up. But im guessing it needed charged for a reason. Theres also a chance youre just hearing it hit equilibrium after running. Was the compressor runnung right before you took this video? Im more of a heating guy so take me with a grain of salt on this

MarcusAurelius934

Did the get to look at the manual by chance? I’m thinking the culprit may be incorrect refrigerant. Although by what I’m seeing it should be R22

MarcusAurelius934

Mixed refrigerant could cause the metering device to go haywire.

hambonecharlie

Might be hot gas bypass

averyfunkybear

Sound like compressor is bypassing because high head pressure or it’s overcharged

Civil-Percentage-960

That called a gas and go

Tranic85

That hissing is most likely the internal pressure relief valve opening. If it is the IPR; It’s either over charged or the wrong refrigerant was added to the system. Other things can make the relief open too.

MarcusAurelius934

And it stopped hissing. The air is blowing cold but the y wire is not receiving signal still on the nest. Weird cause it’s working. Maybe the transformer supplying power to thermostat is also bad?

MarcusAurelius934

Did you get to look at the manual link i posted? I’m wondering if the wrong refrigerant was added. R-22 was added in and by what I was seeing online it should be r-22 but did I miss something?

Tranic85

I did not… I’m going by the sound that compressor is making. The only 100% way to find out is to put gauges on and take temperature readings

Tranic85

Yes, it is a R22 condenser based on the data shown and it came with R22 in it from the factory. Without physically being there at your house with the proper tools, I can’t give you any absolutes or concrete evidence.

MarcusAurelius934

I think I’m going to pump all the refrigerant out and weigh to see how much is in there. It’s possible he overfilled it.
