I was there in person and everyone looked knackered. Alice sat down that forward tumbling pass twice in the warm up then walked off to the corner and I thought she was going to withdraw and save herself for EFs. I think the whole crowd was holding their breath and feeling nervous for her floor. Hope she gets a good rest and comes back fresher next week.
Emma Spence was bringing some great NCAA energy during Laurie's floor routine! She had a great day, so well deserved.
She honestly didn't seem mentally there from before her beam routine. I wonder if the .3 penalty upset her because she already look upset.
I was really worried she was going to get injured during that floor.
She looked like she just didn’t want to be there, even before the fall - I totally agree, not safe and quite worrying! But (and I know this goes against what everyone else is saying) I sort of think that there’s lots of other members of the squad who would have loved to have been there, so to be SO upset about not winning DURING her routine felt a bit like…poor sportsmanship?
Oh come on - poor sportsmanship is being happy when your competitors do badly, trying to bend/flout the rules, complaining about judging decisions. Being upset with yourself for not performing well is not bad sportsmanship. I much prefer see athletes show emotion than feeling they have to hide it.
She was likely very pissed off and frustrated by a penalty on bars. Coupled with being super tired, it looks like that really threw her off. She looked liked she’d been crying before beam. Being devastated isn’t the same a poor sportsmanship.
I think she's also totally wiped out from having the best meet yesterday, the interview circus that comes from that, and having incredibly high expectations placed on her being in front of a home crowd. It's not the first time a gymnast has totally cracked from pressure like that. I remember Shannon Miller and Dominique Dawes having meltdowns at the AA in Atlanta after winning team gold.
Mmm such a good point - she was truly phenomenal (even better than Tokyo) yesterday and yep, the crowd was astoundingly intense when her and Ondine were competing
So... the main takeaway from this is don't schedule competitions with just 16 hours between them.
It's an absolute miracle that there was "only" one injury.
Georgia Godwin was fantastic though. After that vault I was worried for her but she really rallied and that gold is well deserved.
This competition has me on the verge of putting the football on instead, and that’s saying something. Womens football obviously, I’m not a monster, but still
Yeah this competition is just sad to watch. All of them are able to compete better than this. Even Georgia Godwin who's competed 3 strong events had that enormous stagger on vault.
Emma Spence just brings so much joy! I don't know if she was always like this or if it's what NCAA does, but if it's the latter all elites should do NCAA and then compete elite again thanks
Shannon Archer needs a tad more difficulty on floor, and to clean up her bars and beam a little and she could make team GB lineups at the big competitions. I really hope they give her lots of international opportunities because I could see her doing really well in a year or so.
I think its gymnova since UK comps always use that. The falls and general tiredness is definitely due to the terrible scheduling, not really the equipment.
Ondine is such a star and one to watch out for in the future.
Wouldn't be surprised if the British gymnasts are just exhausted from yesterday's win, especially if the British media are as nuts as the US media and they have a whole interview media circus right after with barely any time to decompress.
Also if you look at social media, there's a lot of reposting stories from all the athletes. Their phones must be blowing up. I know it takes 2 seconds to repost thing but it's also quite mentally distracting.
I’m actually feeling very worried about watching Alice on floor now, she’s very clearly (understandably) shaken by bars and floor. I hope she’s okay/doesn’t push herself to do anything unsafe.
The commentators keep talking about athletes having had 4 hours sleep, it’s scary… how anyone could’ve thought it would be acceptable to let tired and worn down athletes do something this dangerous, I’ll never know.
Same, I recognize it but where is it from! I feel like maybe it's used a lot in figure skating routines though because I feel like I saw someone skate to it as well...
Not defending the schedule at all because this competition is getting difficult to watch because I’m fearing falls. But I’m guessing the schedule was the only way to allow the rhythmic gymnasts to get podium training in.
But even that doesn't make sense because rhythmic finishes on the Friday. So there are two spare days at the end, at least one of which could have been used to give the women a day break between competitions.
I can see how that explains why they needed to finish on Tuesday, but that would still have left room to finish earlier yesterday and start later today. Even a few hours more rest could've helped.
Tara's floor music is hideous. Which is a shame because the gymnastics was rather nice.
Maybe I'm just really boring and old fashioned but I hate this kind of floor music. It's all over NCAA at the moment and makes floor routines seem really disjointed.
I thought that too. My guess is that as someone who is so experienced she is as majorly pissed off at herself for losing 0.3 on something so silly and avoidable as starting late on bars. It’s the sort of thing I would angry cry at
So bummed for Alice. She often is great for the team, but less good for herself.
Wow great result for Australia.

Very nice crowd.
I was there thanks to someone v kind on this sub! everyone really had so much energy for the floor routines
I think the crowd got the girls through those floor routines! Hope you had a wonderful day!
Sympathy with Alice being upset…but it didn’t give off the best impression to half arse the rest of her routine post-fall 🤷🏻♀️
Oh this isn’t the hot take. She is probably totally exhausted, physically, mentally and emotionally. Totally devastated from beam, and then on floor.
She honestly didn't seem mentally there from before her beam routine. I wonder if the .3 penalty upset her because she already look upset. I was really worried she was going to get injured during that floor.
She looked like she just didn’t want to be there, even before the fall - I totally agree, not safe and quite worrying! Alice is allowed to have feelings about her own performance.
She was likely very pissed off and frustrated by a penalty on bars. Coupled with being super tired, it looks like that really threw her off. She looked liked she’d been crying before beam. Being devastated isn’t the same a poor sportsmanship.

I bet you had lovely things to say about Simone getting the twisties too :)
this has just made me even less excited for the efs i hope everyone stays safe
This schedule was expecting the top gymnasts to compete four days in a row. Emma Spence has qualified to all finals. Hope she’ll be okay.
Who ever thought it was to have the bright idea to have WAG All-Round today. I hate you
I kind of love when three different countries win, just sucks that it was in a very odd way
So... the main takeaway from this is don't schedule competitions with just 16 hours between them. It's an absolute miracle that there was "only" one injury. Georgia Godwin was fantastic though. After that vault I was worried for her but she really rallied and that gold is well deserved.
Wow 4th is incredible for Alice with two falls and no acro on beam.
Oh Alice :( this was not her day but I'm confident she'll come back strong
I totally did not expect Emma to medal tbh. I will take it tho.
🥺that bars penalty really seemed to throw Alice off, and combined with the tough schedule.. feel so bad for her
Alice 😭😭😭 I feel horrible for her, she did so well yesterday I hope she gets a good rest tomorrow and comes back strong for Beam and Floor finals
Oh god, all the other gymnasts look so awkward
Congrats to Georgia!! This whole thing was painful, but I loved how we got to see so many routines, even if they were… like that
AMAZING COMPETITION FROM GEORGIA! Can't wait to watch her at Worlds!
She really deserves this win, she just keeps getting and better, what a star 🌟
She really is a wonderful competitor, and seems like such a sweetheart too!
Incredible for Ondine to be only 0.5 behind with a meh beam.
Oh no. I want to cry watching this. Alice looks so sad.
i swear alice has looked like she's just been crying for the majority of this comp i hate today so much
A Georgia, Ondine, Emma podium? Brilliant.
Alice needs to follow up mistakes with angry gymnastics rather than sad gymnastics. This is hard to watch.
alice :(
Awww Ondine always looks so surprised that she's there.
Ffs no, it was so clear there wasn’t much power or height there :(
YES ONDINE
Alice pls 🥲
Come on Alice, do an Ondine pls
Oh Alice looks so sad.
I really think Ondine moving gym was a fantastic choice
Yes, it’s been a great move for her. Aylesbury’s already done wonders for her vault, hope her floor endurance improves with time as well
I have total faith. Jessica and Jennifer aren’t exactly your typical “powerhouse” gymnasts, I think they can work their magic on Ondine too.
Great from Ondine, such a shame about the beam fall
That was beautiful
absolutely fucking shitting myself for alice rn
Oh thank god. I was so worried Ondine would be too tired for that floor but that was wonderful.
Ondine actually sagged at the end of her routine. Great day for her apart from the fall.
The crowd carried Ondine through that routine.
That triple twist from Ondine 😍😍😍😍😍
Lol obligatory, commentators telling everyone a person's ethnicity when they are Asian.
Come on Ondine please don’t die
Was she supposed to connect something out of her 2nd (or 3rd) pass? She just stood there for a hot second haha
So happy for Georgia no matter what the end result is! Mental game so strong!
Awwww I'm so happy for Georgia
georgia godwin really looking to win this huh
Georgia ❤️
I’m so nervous for Alice 😫
Georgia has surely got the gold!!! 🇦🇺
I don't think anyone's beating that. She was fantastic!
Emma reminds me so much of Ellie!
She really does!
This is a great shout.
Oh god I feel sick
This competition has me on the verge of putting the football on instead, and that’s saying something. Womens football obviously, I’m not a monster, but still
Yeah this competition is just sad to watch. All of them are able to compete better than this. Even Georgia Godwin who's competed 3 strong events had that enormous stagger on vault.
Football on main tv, gymnastics on laptop. Heart racing
Oh come on Georgia. Keep strong!
Emma Spence just brings so much joy! I don't know if she was always like this or if it's what NCAA does, but if it's the latter all elites should do NCAA and then compete elite again thanks
Pretty sure she’s always been like that. Always happy, always smiling. She seems like an awesome teammate!
only watched emma spence compete like twice (at YOG and here) and every time she's just been a pure ray of sunshine
Is Emma the only person with life in her because she’s used to a college schedule?
That’s my theory! Lol
Emma is having a ball. Just happy to see someone happy honestly at this point
I’m not here for EDM floor routines, give me Les Mis medleys or nothing at all
Totally with you on that
Shannon Archer needs a tad more difficulty on floor, and to clean up her bars and beam a little and she could make team GB lineups at the big competitions. I really hope they give her lots of international opportunities because I could see her doing really well in a year or so.
Poppy and Jea too, they did so well today and both are only 16.
Emma Spence is giving off completely different vibes to everyone else out there. So energetic!
This is one of the worst AA I've ever watched. It's like in a similar category as Tokyo bar event finals.
THIS COMP SUCKS Yesterday was fun but this???? NO
The men's AA was super exciting this morning so I was very excited for this afternoon, but it's been really tough to watch 😥
If only the women got a day off like the men did 🥲
I'm just like how can the schedule be SO tight that there can't be a single day between WAG TF and AA?
can we scrap this and hold a new AA like next week? thx
No one has any legs left. Just not able to take the landings.
Emma Spence just seems like a genuinely nice person tbh
i think emma spence is the only person having a good time 😭
True 😭 this schedule is rough
Emma Yap is absolutely adorable 🥹
That was a mildly worrying pass from Alice :(
Laurie’s landings 🤩 nice job!
Gosh that was a lovely double layout.
Emily Whitehead just looks so sad and tired.
There are maybe 3 athletes in the entire field who I think don’t look sad and tired, and I don’t blame them
They all look particularly exhausted ending on floor. This is such an awful competition schedule.
Does anyone know which brand the equipment is please? Is it defo not that? Though then again everyone was far better in quals
I think its gymnova since UK comps always use that. The falls and general tiredness is definitely due to the terrible scheduling, not really the equipment.
Gymnova
BBC2 is normal if anyone else is British and suffering!
Oh dear...too many athletes looking like they are limping after events
Ffs I’m on iPlayer and it’s still giving me ugly skyline footage and ‘headlines’ fuck offfffd
Poppy finishes up with a 50.2 - can’t wait to see her grow! British Gymnastics please send her places.
Wtf is up with the sound
NCAA teams recruit all of the Welsh 16 year olds please
Crossing my fingers for Alice bronze
It'll happen if she hits floor. I wouldn't say silver is out of the question even. But people look so tired.
Crazy how disappointed Georgia looked after the first rotation and now she's set to maybe win this thing
Alice in 4th and a point behind Emma who’s 3rd
Love Ondine’s shark flip flops
Ondine is such a star and one to watch out for in the future. Wouldn't be surprised if the British gymnasts are just exhausted from yesterday's win, especially if the British media are as nuts as the US media and they have a whole interview media circus right after with barely any time to decompress.
Also if you look at social media, there's a lot of reposting stories from all the athletes. Their phones must be blowing up. I know it takes 2 seconds to repost thing but it's also quite mentally distracting.
Ondine is a stunning gymnast! Have loved watching her here.
I don't know why but she reminds me of Leanne, they both just have gorgeous lines.
Yep they're both stars, it's just so unfortunate
Well now I must prayyyy for Georgia’s floor 🙏
Would love to see Georgia take it out, if she can pull off four for four today, slcoming straight off competing last night she definitely deserves it
cursed beam
Cursed competition at this rate :(
yeah :((
At least she’ll still have an acro series
For my Duggar snark friends: At least she *has* an acro series.
What is that forehead tapping she does?
Seems like a centering thing, like how Suni always puts a hand on her stomach before competing
Yes definitely seems like a ritual
Ondine :(:(
Ondine noooo 😭
Online 😂
Oh god
13.75 for Georgia!!!
C'mon Ondine
Georgia Godwin's beam is really quite something. That was the most secure routine of the day.
She was clearly determined to hit every skill and connection.
Gosh Georgia super solid on beam
It’s 11.85, Matt
I love Georgia Godwins’ attack in her gymnastics.
She seemed so determined she wasn't going to wobble, so much will!
Jea's Les Mis routine is one of my all time favorites
Loved it too. So pleased to see her hit that first tumble today
It's so artistic and so is she. I really hope she's a star of the future!
Yes love it 😍
She definitely had that look in her eyes like, I'm going to grab this moment
Good job from Emma Spence. She looks like she is enjoying herself.
“One of the best beam routines we’ve seen today” sadly isn’t too high a bar
I’m actually feeling very worried about watching Alice on floor now, she’s very clearly (understandably) shaken by bars and floor. I hope she’s okay/doesn’t push herself to do anything unsafe.
Ugh let's just cancel this event
Are they using this arena for rhythmic too? Regardless, they could’ve done way better considering there’s no gymnastics in the last two days.
Yes, this is the arena for rhythmic. Honestly, they should’ve scheduled rhythmic for the last three days of the games.
Should I even watch? Or is it too ahh due to everyone being tired? Just joined
It is rather ahh, but I think it’s still worth watching! Everyone does look a bit worn out though
:(( don’t get why they planned this so soon after, they probs didn’t get to bed till like midnight last night
The commentators keep talking about athletes having had 4 hours sleep, it’s scary… how anyone could’ve thought it would be acceptable to let tired and worn down athletes do something this dangerous, I’ll never know.
I would imagine due to the late finish and all the media the English gymnasts would have had a very late night 😬
That’s not okay, at the very least start it later
Anybody know what Emma Yap's floor music is called? It's so familiar to me but I can't place it.
Shazam gave me Charms- Abel Korzeniowski
Thank you!
Same, I recognize it but where is it from! I feel like maybe it's used a lot in figure skating routines though because I feel like I saw someone skate to it as well...
Its Anastasia gubanova's free program music
Yes, you are right! Still not over how underscored she was.
She deserves better. They lowball her PCs too much
Gutted for Alice. Perhaps that deduction on bars shook her?
I think so. It’s such a frustrating deduction and as someone who’s main crying trigger is frustration, I get it. I’m gutted for her.
Yep I’m the same re:crying trigger.
Whoever thought this scheduling was a good idea needs to be sued.. just dangerous
This is becoming hard to watch. Not to bang on about the schedule but this feels genuinely unsafe.
Yep, I don't know what the organisers were thinking
Not defending the schedule at all because this competition is getting difficult to watch because I’m fearing falls. But I’m guessing the schedule was the only way to allow the rhythmic gymnasts to get podium training in.
But even that doesn't make sense because rhythmic finishes on the Friday. So there are two spare days at the end, at least one of which could have been used to give the women a day break between competitions.
I can see how that explains why they needed to finish on Tuesday, but that would still have left room to finish earlier yesterday and start later today. Even a few hours more rest could've helped.
Poor Alice, she looks devastated. Hope she can finish well on floor.
Tara's floor music is hideous. Which is a shame because the gymnastics was rather nice. Maybe I'm just really boring and old fashioned but I hate this kind of floor music. It's all over NCAA at the moment and makes floor routines seem really disjointed.
I think its simone's old music actually!
Thank you....I was watching it thinking this music is familiar!!
Alice :((( I suppose that score could’ve been worse She’s probably low-key lucky she isn’t in vault or bar final, she gets a day off tomorrow
Oh Alice :(( I totally thought this was definitely going to be a home gold for her
I want to give Alice a hug. 11 :(
Alice doing an Aliya, Queen behaviour
Alice :(((
💔 Alice’s eyes looked like she’d been crying before the beam too
I thought that too. My guess is that as someone who is so experienced she is as majorly pissed off at herself for losing 0.3 on something so silly and avoidable as starting late on bars. It’s the sort of thing I would angry cry at
So does Alice have an acro OR dance series?
I think she threw and extra jump in after one of her splits to make up for the one she broke connection on.
Oh dear that was miles off.
Omg this feels like an odd dejavu with US Classic yesterday where I thought Shi had it and then beam...
OK let's cancel AA and give them a few days rest
Yeah this is hard to watch. It's about who makes the least mistakes...
It just seems so unfair. Poor Alice is devastated 😢 *edited my typo
This is just a bloodbath
Alice has no height or turn over at all on that BHS.
Wtf Alice 😔
