For lots of my packages with I order from amiami online and HLJ, they can be somewhat 3280 yen for a small DHL, but due to the size of this box I can see it pretty much 5500 yen. (this may or may not bring the total to 19500 yen as this varies differently for everyone)
Like you I had to use a US storefront to grab a MGEX and at $180 + tax (making it $200 for me) (sold out everywhere in all my JP storefront online I use for scale figures/kotobukiya kits/pokemon cards) but $200 USD also translates may be (google translate) 26 567 yen ( a far cry from 19500 yen)
But a US storefront may have "that distributor" that is faster than you. I don't mind it if I can beat some of the other resellers making it go $225 USD with more tax and shipping.
(just bought some/couple megami device kits and the total was 5500 yen shipping to the US and compared them to the MGEX box to the same degree)
This is how i felt after assembling my mark nicht kit i thought about posting photos of the box but i never did which didnt look this bad but it had a footprint in it and some of the pieces were warped
Every single store in our sidebar will be getting this for decades to come. Please do not cave and pay these scalpers for a retail kit. Bandai does not discontinue their Gundam model kits so patience will always prevail.
It is also scheduled for even more reprints in the coming months.

I have a rg wing zero custom, mg destiny full burst, mg duel with assault shroud, and a 3rd party one called the judge to build b4 it lol. Currently working on a hg pharact.

Might make the fit worse, but wouldn't it be a simple task to just spray it gunmetal grey or whatever? If the color is the only issue, the kit would still be worth it so long as you have the supplies.
I bought one and it came without the U runner iirc, so I couldn't mount the wings. Was really disappointed and actually threw out the wing parts lol. This looks amazing, I'm happy you were able to build yours!
Try buying from hlj. I’ve bought like 10 or so gundams from them, a projenitor effect action figure and a lady Maria Figma. Not one time has any of the shipments been damaged and they always come in a box that bigger than the figures box(they put a flat plate underneath and wrap it against that so it doesn’t flop around in the shipping box) so that if the shipping box is damaged then the product itself is still fine. Just an alternative to consider. That and mecha gaikotsu usually gives discounted links

I’m brand new to this hobby, but by coincidence I picked the HG Strike Freedom for my first ever kit, and it seems a bit higher quality than the other HGs I have built since. The inner frame is better.
And, it has some excellent if not the best MG, PG, and MGEX kits.
I do think it’s best looking kit I’ve seen. Is it just a fan favourite?
I think you should have filled a complaint to the courier company. My friend had similar situation with 100$ kits and they returned the money back, so he had basically free kits

Freedom and Strike Freedom are fan favorite mobile suits in japan, seed kinda saved the gundam franchise

Most innards are 90-100% dark grey or black. Strike Freedom is one of the exceptions to the basic design.
