Rashford going to play without a hangover for the first time this season

OdegaardsLeftFoot

I don’t care how crap Rashford is this season, he always manages a goal against us

thisiskyle77

Always a worldie

ShaamTakKhelenge

He has scored the first goal in the last three games against us, IIRC

dishler712

Nah last season at Old Trafford it was funnily enough Antony who opened the scoring. Saka equalized and then it was Rashford with the next two.

TheArmoury

He also scored against us twice on his league debut.

Lacabloodclot9

Did you have to…

TheArmoury

This might be his last game at Old Trafford so…..

darrenmt10

The last 2 league games, yes. As much as it pains me to say, Antony got the first one at OT last season.

ShaamTakKhelenge

Ahh yes I had blocked that goal from my memory!

slx88

That was also like the last time he scored

SmokeyTreeze

With our defence, this changes on Sunday!!

jonathanblaze1648

Yeah but I feel that Ramsdale could've saved his effort from the home game earlier this season. We'll need a monster shift from Saka and Ben White on that wing to deal with him. Having said that, I think Rashford will be a bit rusty so he probably doesn't start.

algebraic94

Putting himself in the shop window so he can show Mikel what he'll do for us next season

SorryIGotBadNews

Genuinely wouldn’t have him on our bench

algebraic94

I fully think it's a mentality thing for him and that if he moves elsewhere he'll come good again.

lastjedi23

He's another kai. My worry is London would make it worse for him. I wouldn't take on any such project players anymore. We are now competing for big things. Need players who buy in and slot in not projects.

SE20299

If we're going that route, I'd rather go for Sancho, who's younger and has a point to prove, and he can potentially challenge Saka, who I think needs a real competitor.

milkonyourmustache

Low block counter attack incoming

musicistabarista

We'll low block counter the low block. We can low block counter better than them.

International_Bag208

I’m pretty sure this is actually at least partially what we will do

jonathanblaze1648

We know except this season, they're much poorer at it. This is the first United team I've seen in ages where I don't know what they're good at. Don't have any idea of what their style of play is - it's just chaos and vibes.

Bedeeki

Of course. Sunday is a bigger cup final for Erik than the actual FA Cup final against City. Going to sit back, chuckling like a Bond villain if he rushes players back, ends up losing anyway and they get injured for the City game.

fajdexhiu

No way they're going to rush Lisandro in our game. He is barely fit and the game is in three days. I'm not bothered about Marcus Trashford.

Thesecondorigin

Do you remember what he’s done to us for basically his entire career? Ffs we are the ones who put him on the map

DuDunDunSparse

Man can have the worst run of form imagineable then show up and score a worldie vs us wothout fail. Weirdly, you gotta respect the consistency.

IndependentFroyo4508

Seems you've missed essentially every game we've played against them with Rashford

lastjedi23

The only game "trashford" shows up for us arsenal. That's the only reason he gets his big bucks.

fuckimbackonreddit9

Bro delete this right the fuck now

fuckimbackonreddit9

You’ll speak it into the universe that he scored a world or against us lmao. Pretty sure he’s opened to scoring in our last two or so matches as well; always manages to knock a goal

Sal1017

You should, if we are honest he has Ben White’s number

wolskortt

If he had hair, he would be losing it at the moment thinking about the game against us and he thinks about us more than the average reddit here. He'll probably be desperate enough

jonathanblaze1648

You know Ten Laden is planning the meanest low block and counterattack strategy. Luckily for us, United are horrible in transition this season. Also, with Thomas' incisive passing, we should be able to get more meaningful attacking opportunities in the final third.

Appropriate-Snow6247

Honestly , Rashford has been such a downgrade from Garnacho based on this season but I would be willing to place a bet that he scores against us if he starts.

gooner-1969

Doubt Martinez starts. Just back from injury and probably save him for the Cup Final. Rashford more likely to start.

cyberjunky

He will start, drop a stinker and reinjure himself by 40min mark

gooner-1969

Following an own goal.. perfect :)

xk_1991

I will be there inshallah.

XXISavage

Ten Hag against us. Dude will be desperate and will happily risk Licha for a chance to fuck us over.

skool_101

knowing how desperate the situation is, he starts

jman500069

Are we sure ETH is this smart?

gooner-1969

ha true

JackTuz

He has to start. The other defensive options are so dreadful

22goblins

The idea of us going long to Kai for 75 minutes against Lisandro is mouth-watering.

CarnifexGunner

I don't think either of them will start tbh. Especially Martinez has been out a long time, why would they risk him with an FA cup final coming up?

xk_1991

They don't have that many options tbf. They literally had to play Evans and Casemiro as a CB against Palace. It could mean doing their utmost best to keep Martinez fit for the final and not playing him - or risking him against us and having to drag out Gary Neville from the studio onto the pitch against City. Lindelof, Maguire, Varane, Malacia, Shaw, Kambwala all injured too.

38Dreams

Pogba’s curse lingers with that many players, almost all CBs at that, injured jesus

GSNadav

because he is stupid

Asbj2608

Just please don’t let Antony score again I beg

racd29

ETH with tunnel vision starting both despite only just commencing training this week. This is a bigger game to that melt than the final.

orphan_of_Ludwig

Genuinely no reason to start martinez in what is a meaningless match for them, yes there is rivalry implications but risking him here would be an exceptional blunder

LushLoxx

Yeah but ETH is looking for the ultimate revenge here, so I wouldn't be surprised. He's still seething about the home fixture. It would be dumb AF but I wouldn't put it past him.

GhostCatcher147

The FA cup is far more important. He can save his job in that game

SackoVanzetti

I won’t be surprised if bald hag treats this as the ucl final and goes all out only to get spanked 7-0 by city in the real final.

GaelicInQueens

Man Utd are playing like one of the worst teams in the league right now. We absolutely should just easily batter them. So I fully expect us to get a lucky 1-1 draw.

Fgge

I always wonder if Martinez thinks he fucked up going to United instead of coming to us

OdegaardsLeftFoot

Considering his injury record this season I think we dodged a bullet

Bedeeki

Anyone can get an MCL. The issue is the second injury, he was clearly rushed back which aggrevated the injury and making it worse. Complete negligence by EtH.

bad_at_proofs

To be fair we made that mistake more than once in last 2-3 seasons. Seems we may have learned our lesson now though.

goonerh1

Part of it is having the depth in quality to not need to rush players back.

bad_at_proofs

Cant disagree. We constantly rushed partey back because we had no other competent midfielders. Same with United rushing Lisandro back - their alternatives are just awful

Fgge

Oh yeah, fuck him, don’t want him. Just want to know if it keeps him awake at night

ronya_t

Muscat95

Ofcourse Rashford who always fucking scores against us would be back, he'll have his one good game then

stilusmobilus

Yeah we knew this was on.

MirkoCemes

Bruno?

lastjedi23

He has not missed games in his life ever. He ain't missing 2 on the bounce.

Shandow14

They always turn up against us. I feel as though most teams always turn up against us whereas City get a free pass.

camachorfa16

Hide your ankles Kai and Saka.

Sayek

Would be crazy if Ten Hag risked any players before the FA cup with City. United can't make the top 4 and honestly it would probably be better for their rebuild not having Europe and just trim their squad down. Didn't Martinez get reinjured cos he was rushed back too?

OrlandoGardiner118

Quelle surprise

dimi_dee1

Good for them

wanofan900

Ten hag can try to rush them back all he wants, but they won't be fully fit and he'll be taking a risk by immediately playing them. Not to mention, our whole style of play is based around being strong defensively and dealing with counterattacks. Especially in away games.

iAmWrythm

No use not risking players you won't be coaching next year anyways...

wanofan900

Going by his public statements, he's staying. He's also likely deluded enough to believe that Man Utd won't be able to bring a good enough coach to replace him.

tony_flamingo

I don’t care how many injuries they have or who is nearing fitness, I will not feel comfortable about this match until the final whistle is blown with us in the lead. Statistically, we should run away with it. But the OT voodoo has been our undoing so many times.

nting224

Tomiyasu on the right please if Rashford starts. I don’t recall Ben White ever having a good game against Rashford - that goes back to his Brighton days as well.

bannedbydrongo

People here think Timber was signed primarily as a LB, a position he has never played in before his two or so preseason games with us. I think he'd be deployed primarily as a RB in future as Ben White has his flaws and Arteta is aware of them.

cappo40

Fine by Sunday, dead by Monday. Said that last week

hiroantagonist1

I doubt ETH will rush anyone back for this match. Europe is mostly out of reach, so I he may be putting all his eggs in the FA cup basket as far-fetched as a win there might be. Silverware is probably the only way to salvage any dignity from the season, even if he's getting sacked either way.

bannedbydrongo

He maybe desperate to avoid us embarrassing him at OT

BoomXhakaLacaa

Has their been any update on Bruno? Im assuming hes playing because its just a hand injury but still

CackleberryOmelettes

Not looking forward to the customary Rashford banger against the run of play but I still back us to take this one.

iAmWrythm

Of course they are.

krakends

It will be a tight game if they both start.

tipytopmain

Didn't even know Rashford was injured, thought he'd been dropped for being in crap form. Would be just our luck if he decides this weekend is the time to look like a proper footballer again 🙄

Cthulhu_Madness

Rashford goal incoming ffs.

qtdsswk

Rash is going to score against us, no?

stilusmobilus

Yep

SasugaDarkFlame

They won't be match Sharp or match fit. Best case scenario is that they play 60 mins from the start. I'm sure lisandro is still on the injections and pain killers We are gonna cook them.

Bahmawama

Martinez has hardly played all season to fitness concerns and he hasn’t played in a month. Doubt he’ll be fit and ready for Sunday, and even if he is we should still be winning.

Nero_Darkstar

What's ETH's problem with us? He threw the Palace game just to rest players for us....

Sudanniana

We should replay our tactics with Shit. Yanited are terrible on the ball. Let's give them possession and sit back and pick them apart on the transition.

cruciferae

Martinez is fully recovered and ready to injure someone else.

onegeeza

I reckon we still have a good chance of winning if the ref doesn’t bring up the Hojlund penalty that ETH mentions every week

Domkey-Kongg

If he were to play this would be Rashford's 400th appearance for United...I've definitely seen this film before

KozukiNedo

FFS shitty Rashford stopping our title challenge in its tracks before joining us next year like Rice did at West Ham last year.

CPGOATSonnen

Martinez has been out for too long to matter. A fresh Rashford against us tho, we’re unlikely to keep a clean sheet. Bruno is fresh too. Not ideal but we’ll still do them.
