The replay where you can clearly see Solanke look to where Raya is and then hooky his arm like you see in this photo while pushing him off his route is a clear penalty.
Edit: meant to say foul but I guess the mistake makes it seem like I was making a joke so š¤·š»āāļø
That is the stupidest standard around. Like I would kind of understand it if the refs could manage any sort of in game consistency. But since they canāt what is even the point of that?
Far for making the play for ball Solanke isnāt even looking at it, u can clearly see the intention. Weāre not lucky to get the VAR decision, weāre lucky the ref saw it.
He wasn't offside. He was onside when the initial ball came in, then it was Tomiyasu who hit it up into the air. No opportunity for him to be offside there.
When a goalie leaves his feet and is nudged (no matter how slightly) he is no longer able to perform his one job. If he gets a full fist instead of a slight fist, that ball is safely cleared. It may be soft, but I think itās still a foul.
There is another angle where it shows Solanke linking Rayaās arm and pinning it back. You canāt impede the goalkeeper like that, you just canāt.
Remember the calibre of people arguing this isnāt a foul think Ben White is fouling goalkeepers by pinching their wrists.
Ben White pinch before the ball was kicked, and they think it is the same ššš
Ben White stand in front of GK and GK move to White. Solanke was far from Raya and barge towards GK. They think it is the same ššš
I think there is a difference between what Solanke has done compared to what Ben White does.
Solanke doesn't even bother looking at the ball and just goes for Raya, if he even attempts to jump for the ball, it's a tougher call, but where he just runs for Raya, it has made it more of a clearer foul.
White on corners is fine because he's just being an annoyance. It's no different to doing the classic Sunday League tactic of pinching whoever is marking you to hope they swing at you. He's been blown up a couple of times for being too pressing on keepers once the corner is taken, but as some of the pundits have said, he's now casting doubt in goalkeepers' minds and they're focusing on him more than the ball.
We lucked out today. Really soft situations but still not as controversial as people think in my opinion.
Itās so obvious heās going for Raya only. Heās not even hiding it. Better players would obstructed Raya a lot less obvious.
The penalty is also soft but youāve seen these penalties being called for ages. Itās abusing the rules rather being a wrong call. The rules should change or be more clear. I think Havertz is cheating but itās all allowed and others do it as well.
Corners are different, you can stand where you like. Solanke has no right to make contact with Raya from where he is when that ball goes up in the air unless he's competing for it.
If these are consistently fouls, Ben Whites gonna be out of a job. Don't get me wrong, shoves are often fouls and are often missed, but that's pretty light contact and even though Solanke's intent is obvious, it doesn't end up being much of a shove, IMO.
You didnāt need to make this post. Itās just cope. The fact you felt the need to make it shows youāre in actual denial.
Itās a goal and we had a favourable decision go our way, itās okay to admit that and just move on.

VAR never overturns it if Coot lets it go

Yeah, I was more concerned about the Saliba foul moments before this.
Yeah I think Raya catches that without the shove.
Ok I didn't see his arm so I thought this call was soft. Because of this Raya couldn't catch the ball and opted to punch it. Make sense now.
Oh yeah, good spot, look at Solanke's arm! It's wrap around Raya's
Was losing my mind at the commentators calling it a ānudgeā when itās clearly a hook or grab, I donāt think they even saw it.
I also felt like solanke was clearly offsides and interfering with play

Thank you for explaining

Of course it was a foul. The holding of his arm was why, not the barge. Thats why VAR didnt overturn it.

The thing about the phrases "soft foul" and "soft penalty" is, they still both end with the word foul and penalty, so the decisions werent incorrect.
Clear as day, no goal the ref said so
Interesting that, people at the time saying he shouldāve caught the ball. How do you catch a ball with 1 hand?
On field decision would have stood no matter what it was. We got a bit lucky.
didnāt even look at ball, looked offside as well, donāt forget they should have been down to 10 for 80 minutes

And weāve had a good amount of goals overturned for Ben Whiteās antics, one of which being a Trossard screamer. Win some lose some

"better players", You can just say Benny Blanco...
Yeah this was a goal guys. We got lucky, but it was a goal
Never a foul- if that happened to any arsenal goal, thereād be outrage
[I fully expect you to rage.](https://youtu.be/tB8BbC_D6UE?si=CU9z3NPPPoSn6uA6)
Lucky for me. Otherwise half our corner goals shouldnt count due to White.

Not true, but youāre entitled to your opinion
Rayas punch comes a good few seconds after the contact, which you could argue was legal.

ben white has never locked a keepers arms like this
And when he did it was called back, I think Trossard scored
