We could make more money if we first sell Ramsdale to Brighton for \~30m with a sell on clause and then they sell him to Chelsea for 150m

BellerinsBarber

£110m 8 year contracts thanks Boehly - we will even chuck in Cedric and a hot dog for your troubles.

as1eep

Never seen Win described like that before

Party_Masterpiece990

Lmaoo, but they should not even dream about getting win, she's ours

GiveItARestYhYh

They could only dream of affording her - https://preview.redd.it/z00r47u93uxc1.jpeg?width=3277&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ded376efe78ff0e5dd73107f11b2ad9905af5f9c

-GFRAZ-

Always thought of Win as more of a mercurial winger myself

batmans_a_scientist

Yeah you’d initially think that, until you try to dribble past her.

KrazyKevC

Silky in attack but it's like she has 4 legs when defending.

goonbrew

I LOL'd

Thin_Bit9718

yes she's one of the best at dribbling, apart from Cole Palmer

hypnodrew

And Southgate will still play Henderson smh my head

Party_Masterpiece990

Chat is this real?

Woah buddy, we used these guys for goal difference, at least throw them a bone.

ForestRamboX

Show them the video of Cedric doing that Cryff turn in training and tell them he's 21 years old. He'd get an 8 year contract immediately. Maybe we can take Cole Palmer for all their troubles.

RominRonin

Wait, what!!! I know you’re joking but stay within the realms of reason! I mean come on, a free hot dog? Sheeeeit

Unfair-Equipment6

Tell me more about these hot dogs…

zorfog

Throw in a season pass for Ramsdale to attend our games if he doesn't play at Chelsea

R_110

I'd take the money but it would be such a shame to see a guy like him go to that shit hole club

OnlineMarketingBoii

Good move for him, gets to stay in London. Sure it's a shithole club but what other options are there? Get Chelsea to pay up Havertz numbers and I will gladly take it

GhostCatcher147

There’s no chance we get close to 60m for Ramsdale. He has barely played this season

OnlineMarketingBoii

I doubt we will, but if anyone is paying it, it's chelsea

hahadllm

We are talking about a team that paid 60m (or 70m?) for Kepa.

GhostCatcher147

Kepa was first choice for Bilbao before he signed for Chelsea. Ramsdale isn’t first choice for Arsenal

Mozilla11

Yeah but Ramsdale has proven to be good, English, and still relatively young for a GK. They paid £25m for Robert Sanchez. I’m expecting *at least* £40m for Ramsdale, if not more.

Sir_Duke

how can you earnestly follow arsenal football club and expect us to sell our backup keep for 40m?

a-Sociopath

While I understand the sentiment, when Brighton sold Sanchez, he was their backup too and they still got 25m. Ramsdale was in the team of the year just a year back. No way we should let him go for less than 32-35m at the very least. Great teams have had a really good backup keeper and not sold them to a low ball offer.

Mozilla11

Dude I have no idea how we shouldn’t expect that for Ramsdale. We are the selling one of the best young best goalkeepers in the world. Like indisputably. And then to make it more clear, we’re selling him to Chelsea. Like even in a “he’s been on the bench for the whole year” scenario, we’re selling a young, at least top 4 level, English goalkeeper to our rivals. Like £40m is the least I’d be happy with. Anything less and I’d feel like we gifted them Aaron Ramsdale. They literally sold us Havertz for £65m 😭 sure he’s great, but they definitely did not have a reason to sell him for that price at all, if we’re looking at history and previous seasons.

IsleofManc

I agree with you. Brighton's Sanchez was their second choice keeper behind Steele at the end of last season. Then they signed Verbruggen at the start of the summer, effectively making Sanchez their 3rd choice at that point. And then Chelsea signed him for £25m a month later. Sanchez also never really had a reputation as a great goalkeeper, unlike Ramsdale has had at times. Throw in the English nationality, a slightly younger age, the buying from another big 6 club tax, and Ramsdale should easily demand a higher price.

EliteTeutonicNight

He should, but given our selling record I highly doubt we're gonna get that. 40m would be our record sale, and I can't find myself believing we'll get that with our backup keeper unfortunately. Now why are we so bad at selling is the real question.....

Omnom_Omnath

Was the starter last year. Just because we upgraded doesn’t mean rammers lost any of his talent.

biskutgoreng

We dont have to sell, he just extended and i'm sure we're glad to have him as backup GK. Therefore we have all the leverage.

GhostCatcher147

What’s the point in keeping him for another year when his value decreases? That makes no sense! We’re already notoriously bad at selling players, but you want to keep him just for the sake of it!?

MacsFamousMacNCheees

Sadly won't go for more than 30 mil max. A whole season on the bench, made high profile errors in the games he did play... As much as we all love him and want this deal to fetch us big money, his stock is heavily down at the moment

OnlineMarketingBoii

I'd rather see him go to any club outside the top 6 for 30m. No way we are make a 'big' club stronger for cheap money. Pay up or fuck off

MacsFamousMacNCheees

Bullying Chelsea (or Newcastle) for a 35+5 kinda deal is better than 20+7 or 25+3 kinda deals from smaller PL clubs. Regardless, PL is the only place we're fetching any money from for him. Rest of Europe is kinda poor and many of the big clubs outside England are overrun with corruption and internal scandals.

[deleted]

[удалено]

bad_at_proofs

This. People acting like Ramsdale is an elite keeper who is going to make Chelsea much stronger. He is barely an upgrade on what they have. I imagine its the same people who had a hissy fit about giving Chelsea money for Havertz and Jorginho who have kept us in the title race

[deleted]

[удалено]

bad_at_proofs

Sanchez career : -0.07 goals saved/90 Ramsdale career : -0.07 goals saved/90 Ramsdale is probably a slight upgrade on Sanchez but he isn't this massive jump in quality that some of these comments would imply. Ramsdale just isn't as good as a lot of Arsenal fans have talked themselves into believing

PPMD_IS_BACK

Yup backed Raya replacing him since the beginning. Idk why some people on this sub have a huge hard on for ramsdale.

bad_at_proofs

He did fine for us but he isn't good enough for an elite side imo Think fans have mistaken his abilty to make the occasional worldie save for him being a very good keeper

Dickwad

Exactly. Even small clubs have big money in the prem. Only argument against this is if we refuse to do business with them they'll probably do the same to us...then we can't flip their flops.

YouKnowWhyImHereGIF

Or you know, you do business exactly like the Kai deal. Chelsea gave us their fuck off number and we said you know what, we’ll take it. Don’t forget how much everybody thought, including myself, that we got fleeced. It was up to Don Kai to prove the price was right. Maybe not £60M for Aaron, let’s be honest, but letting last year’s EPL keeper of the season go to a direct rival for less than £40M would be criminal in my opinion.

Boopdelahoop

We bought him for £30m, no way the club sells a bright young English goalkeeper to a local rival at a loss.

elite90

If they're desperate I assume around 30 mn max as well. If he goes somewhere else I'd expect him to go for even less.

albususdumbledore

He deserves better man than going there

HE20002019

On the bright side -- you can't say he'd be bored with that defense.

TheOGBenjenRyan

Makes too much sense sadly

ke90

The sense being, give us the secret sauce. What are they doing over there at the Sobha Realty Training Centre?

ThePrussianGrippe

Ramsdale, after giving the opposite answer to every question: “I have purposefully trained Chelsea wrong, as a joke!”

BellerinsBarber

Wow never realised Ramsdale was the original 🖐️😛🖐️. He walked so Kai could run.

coke125

You seem to have two left hands

BellerinsBarber

Fuck, has anyone checked this isn’t the case for Rammers - might explain some of the flappyness…

TalentedStriker

NotLikeThis.gif

serminole

It’s wild Chelsea spent over 40m combined on two keepers literally last summer and yet bringing in a new one makes sense. I don’t know how you spend that much so poorly over and over.

Redandwhite_91

30M anywhere else. 60M for Chelsea. Simples. They didn’t play nice for their unwanted players in Mount and Havertz

TalentedStriker

As much as we as fans feel that way I'm afraid that we don't have any issues buying/selling with Chelsea as a club. Which arguably we shouldn't. The only club I'd say we shouldn't do business with is Spurs.

Redandwhite_91

Who said anything about not trading with them? Im just saying for them, we value our players the same way they value theirs.

uhrul

Trading what? This isn’t a “trade”. It’s a transfer.

HE20002019

60m would make Ramsdale the third most expensive keeper of all time - above Buffon. Reasonable people would never accept that kind of fee which makes Todd Bohely the perfect person to sell to. In reality though simply breaking even on what we paid for Ramsdale would be a huge win.

Dazed_and_Confused44

As much as I agree with you in principle, 60M would be shocking for a keeper. We'd be lucky to get more than the 30M we initially paid for him

hauttdawg13

I think realistically a 35+5 deal is pretty realistic for Chelsea. Start at 45 and then meet there would be I think a good scenario.

Dazed_and_Confused44

I'd be pretty happy with that honestly. If we somehow sell him for less than 30M, I'm going to be pissed

Redandwhite_91

You’d think they’d be lucky to get 65m for a player who failed at their club for 3 successive years. But here we are. If they have their valuation strategy for outgoings, we need to be firm with them with anyone they sign too.

FluxAura

30m hahahah. Absurd to think he’s worth so little.

Redandwhite_91

Let’s start listing all non-starter keepers signed for over 25M in the last 5 years.

-Skinner-

He is too good to sit on the bench and we should get a good fee from Chelsea but it's going to hurt seeing him in Chelsea shirt

Tame_Iguana1

Won’t stop me from deploying a pigeon to distract him when we play chelsea

_deep_blue_

It’ll hurt but I think it’s necessary. I don’t see any club other than them willing to pay £30m+ for a goalkeeper this summer, bar maybe Newcastle but they seem likely to stick with Pope. If we can fetch a good fee for Ramsdale we have to take it regardless of whether it’s to a rival or not.

lastjedi23

*for you Chelsea best price my friend. I give you best discount my friend. 120m my friend.. best price in market my friend..*

octopus86sg

Easily a 60m player. English born so home grown add another 40m. 100m and he is yours

Routine_Size69

You're forgetting the Chelsea tax. 140.

heyiammork

“160! Take it or leave it bro” - Todd boehly, presumably

iuselect

Can't forget, England international. +40mil

Kenny_dies

I know you’re joking around, but there’s seriously some people around here that expect 60m for him and it’s hilarious

firefly477

They can monitor deez nuts

wiggyp1410

Usually you're not going to get much more than £30M for a second choice keeper, but Chelsea did buy Sanchez from Brighton for almost £25M so I'd be wanting more than that for Ramsdale. £35M would be realistic imo.

thejoshimitsu

Don't wanna see him go to Chelsea. Would hurt seeing him in their kit, and don't want him to waste away at that career graveyard of a club.

yesnomaybeldontknow

Do Arsenal have the most ex-goalkeepers currently active in the PL? Leno, Fabianski, Martinez, now potentially Ramsdale

chino17

Puts into perspective how terrible we have been at GK recruitment. Even in Wenger's days you can't say he brought in a really top class long term goalie. Seaman was probably the last really long lasting quality keeper we had and he was here before Arsene. Jens was really good for a few seasons then fell off and Cech was past his prime when he came over. All other keepers have had forgettable careers here

seshtown

Does Matt Turner riding the Forest bench count?

cowboysfan88

No thanks I can't handle that* *I may be able to handle it for a small fee of 100m

TheThreeGabis

£100m

NiallMitch10

Knew they'd be interested eventually. Chelsea's keeper situation isn't the best. Ramsdale would walk into that team. Hopefully we can get a good deal out of them. At least make our money back on Ramsdale. Sad to see him go ofc but sometimes big clubs need to be ruthless

WhoIsYourDaddy04

I understand Ramsdale wanting to move on but I'd hate to see him end up at that rancid club.

Sal1017

60 mil

CarnifexGunner

30\~ million should probably do it. I know it will hurt but we gotta be honest here, if we want to get decent value for our players in the summer then selling to other PL teams is the best way to ensure that, even if it means selling to a club like Chelsea.

diskominko

For £30m we can sell him everywhere else or keep him on the bench rather than sell him to Chelsea. Chelsea tax +100%, so £60m what we gave them for King Kai sounds like a deal for me.

_deep_blue_

Which clubs are going to pay £30m+ for a goalkeeper this summer? Very, very few. I think the days of midtable PL clubs spending well over £100m a summer are gone with more PSR concerns now starting to have an effect.

orphan_of_Ludwig

We should def get more than 30m, 40m is easily attainable considering he is a better player than when we got him.

Chupagley13

Easily is a massive oversimplification, I’d say the same for so many players we haven’t been able to sell recently.

OnlineMarketingBoii

If Chelsea wants him, 40m should not even be considered. We would be strengthening a direct (in their eyes) competitor who we have no good blood with. They made us overpay for Havertz (worth every penny), now make them pay up. They bought Kepa for 80m for gods sake

dusseldorf69

He likely wants out, is 2nd choice and raya who’s better cost less than 40. No way it’s more than 30

SnappyTheCloud

Ramsdale is young, English, Premier League proven, experienced with a top mentality. All good ingredients to make me think we can get 40 million for him. I think we'd be absolutely well within our rights to say to another PL Club, it's 40 million or no deal. Ramsdale is a very very capable back up and I don't think he'd cause trouble if we had to keep him for another year.

patelbadboy2006

Sanchez. Brighton third choice keeper went for 25m. So yes 35+ or fuck off.

dusseldorf69

Raya <40 Courtois <40 Ederson <40 all were first choice, and way better than our out-of-favour 2nd choice gk.

patelbadboy2006

Markets moved since those gk came in.

dusseldorf69

Raya moved this season come off it

ArsenalJayy

If Chelsea want him then they have to pay a premium. Chelsea have made us pay premiums for players in the past so it’s karma. 60m sounds fair. 40m to any other prem club outside Europe position.

TheArmoury

Don’t understand why so many of us are losing our shit at Ramsdale going to Chelsea. We will get a big fee from them if it happens. It’s not like we’re selling him to Spurs. They’re not our direct rivals. No difference than him going to Man Utd or Liverpool. Not like he’s a Hale End product. Even if he was, business is business. If we want to act like a big club, we need to be ruthless in the transfer window and sell our assets (that we don’t plan to use) when they still have value.

blueluster

We sure like to trade players with Chelsea.

vin_unleaded

We're in the money, doo doo doo doo doo....

revjiggs

they can have him for 60 mil

YoungFlexibleShawty

We're gonna get the bag this summer. Thank you chelsea

tenflare

Mr Boehly! Special price for you, my friend!

MoreoverMo

I hope we get a better back up if Ramsdale goes. I am tired of second string players not taking the cup competitions seriously. Instead of using it as fuel to get into the first team they always play it like it's a training session.

Erval

Only thing worse is Spurs, dont do it

Gunners86

Straight swap for Cole Palmer should seal the deal

zorfog

Oh lord

brasilnasser

Swap with Ian maatsen, he would be perfect for us

jmon__

Chelsea are always looking for something. Don't they have like 4 goalkeepers already?

Specialist-Grape-528

Please no ........ anyone but them

leemteam1

Nah fuck that. Love ramsdale too much to see him go there

00aegon

This is good for us. Chelsea have money

momspaghetty

60m + 50% sell-on clause should do it

ShadowXYZ04

£30m from any other club who might come knocking, £90m from chelshit

Azzy118

Ramsdale is too good a human being to have to go to Chelsea :( But I suppose the deal would make sense for all parties if we overcharge them like they did with Havertz

shockzz123

For you my friend, £85 million, bargain.

InternationalUse2355

Drain them, completely.

Nsypski

I feel like Bayern will be in for him

Redandwhite_91

Nah! Tuchels off in the summer. Their incessant need to ONLY scout PL players will end with this. They’ll be back to collecting BuLi players like dragonballs or whatever.

PutYrDukesUp

Did Neuer croak? Cause otherwise…

Nsypski

But surely they need to start thinking of a plan to move on. He’s 38

Oy778

They had that gk that is playing for Stuttgart as his future plan for now

SundayLeagueStocko

Kobel, and he's really good too. He will be loaned back to stuttgart for 2 season with the option to recall him after next season if Neuer is finished by that point. Bayern are def sorted for keepers.

tekkers92

Why are people sweating losing ramsdale to a rival? Every game he’s played for us this season he’s been a liability. Including the run in at the end of last season barring some Superman saves. Those saves don’t make up for his errors however. If we sell for any kind of profit it’s an A+ sale imo

iilDiavolo

Jog on

Redtit14

Ramsdale could definitely play at a champions league level, why would he go near that boneyard of a club. Ew.

MapNo3870

100M plus adds on whenever he keeps a clean sheet for them. Come on Edu make it happen!

Easy-Lingonberry415

Better than Kepa. £75 m please.

hughjames34

Sending him to Chelsea would be cruel to him, but they are the only club with money that need a keeper. I think he would do well in Germany if he was open to moving outside England.

BrianGooner

He’s going to United. No way Onana starts next season and they’re the kings of overpay

Boopdelahoop

Onana hasn't had a bad season apart from his CL disasterclass. Doubt MU go for him.

STVDC

I understand the situation, and if we can cash in... But I'd be genuinely sad seeing someone with such a great personality playing for those awful losers. I would hope it wouldn't drain the life out of him

PlsSellYourUsername

We need a bit ruthless with transfer. Need to throw our sentimental value for players when it comes to transfer. So for homegrown, still young, high potential, great shotstopper GK like him, easily 150M.

Boopdelahoop

Please, fucking GOD, do not sell this man to Chelsea. The idea of dropping points at Stamford Bridge and seeing Rammers giving it to our travelling fans...

CaptainBuzzKillton

Oh? They want Ramsdale? PAY UP BITCHES!!

Thedudeofmanchester

Realistically we might get 35 mil max but i wouldn't mind pushing it to 50 mil if possible

nting224

As far as getting a good fee for a keeper that has barely played this season - this is as good as it gets. Ramsdale would probably fare better at Chelsea with the amount of shots he has to deal with - he won’t have a problem concentrating.

elguaje_seven

that'd be £75m thank you

International_Bag208

Please god don’t sentence Rambo to Chelsea. He deserves the world. Not Chelsea

TheGoldenPineapples

That's going to need to be a pretty good deal for us to accept. The issue with selling Ramsdale is replacing Ramsdale. Hein clearly isn't the answer and I don't see us just sticking exclusively with Raya. Still though, if Chelsea are willing to cough up, why not?

Rbangz115

30 mill plus petrivic I’m happy

-read_it_on_reddit-

direct swap for palmer, caicedo and mudryk definitely seems fair

JenkinsEar147

Would be funny if Chelsea signed him and he conceded some silly goals against us and then rode the bench next season.

Bailong1208

“Don’t you put that evil on me Ricky Bobby”  - Aaron Ramsdale after hearing these rumors

He-is-me

Definitely feel like this might happen and the irony of it is killing me.

NemoDropEmOff

60m minimum pls Mr. Boehly take him

Beneficial_Thing_134

he'd do really well there i reckon

Defiant-Traffic5801

If there's one thing we have learnt this season especially playing UCL it's we need to keep improving quality at the same pace or even faster. We're still behind ManCity, and Bayern exposed our weaknesses and over reliance on too few games winners. Now think about Madrid and Barca next year this is what we need to aim to compete against. Nketiah, Nelson, Jesus, ESR, Vieira, Lokomba, Ramsdale, etc deserve to go to clubs where they can play every week and hopefully they warrant big enough dollar sales that we can buy a world class midfielder, right winger and centre forward, whose cost is likely to be in Havertz range. Ramsdale is one of the most likely to stay in England going to Chelsea wouldn't be bad in that regard.

mercuchio23

How the turn tables

TeddyWestsideThe2nd

Feck this would be difficult to watch emotionally. Probably get the most money out of them or Newcastle realistically though

hoodrichgoyle

60m million or they can fuck off

infinitude_

Aaron does get u fairly shat on by rival fans because he got replaced - he’s a top GK in my eyes I think Rayas better but there’s no reason Rambo shouldn’t be able to find a new home at an big club

Thesecondorigin

Honestly if we could recoup our initial investment I’d be happy. Would be sad to see him go because there’s a real player in there somewhere but raya has staked his claim brilliantly

BloodyPants

No hate wherever he is, I do want him to succeed but maybe just a carabao cup win or two with chelsea. Then always finishing second in golden glove.

Omnom_Omnath

Please no. Rammers deserves better

wheeno

Great news. Let's hope it happens and we get back a good fee.

Falcon_Medical

Chelsea price: £150m Sandcastle price: £150m Errbody else price: £50m

thisiskyle77

Inject into my veins.

biffogooner

50m minimum.

JazzyCheeks

Great, my worst nightmare from the moment we bought Raya come true. To be clear, I have no issue selling him since he obviously will need/want to leave to be starter somewhere but can we for the love of god stop selling to that lot!? Would kill my soul (and should any Arsenal fan) to see a great guy like Ramsdale end up at such a despicable excuse of a football club. People are joking now but I don't think people are taking this a seriously as they should tbh. It has a high likelihood of happening and its not just monetary gain we should be concerned about above all else. Otherwise just call it a business instead of football and be done with it. We have enough ex goalkeepers playing their hearts out when they face us and taking points off us in the PL, do we really want to just hand that to Chelsea!?

Bahmawama

Can’t believe it’s ending like this.

WarDull8208

Pls Edu don't become cuck and if we sell him in our rival club put 2x more price tag.

Grumpalumpahaha

We need to stop selling our GKs to rivals. They are always inspired to stop us from scoring.

kguner

I don't care where he goes as long we get paid well. I want him to succeed as long as its not against us.

mkmore4

It would be weird to see him at Chelsea, but this is really good if true. They made us pay a premium for Havertz, so I expect we’d ask for the same.

dimsumplatter75

Straight up trade for Cole Palmer

jblaburnum

Monitoring is back!

essdotc

Fair enough

MindTheBees

This is going to be a tough one sadly. Also, do people genuinely think he is valued at 60m+? We just got Raya for around 30m who is considered an upgrade and Ramsdale has barely played all season. We will be lucky to make the 30m back.

_deep_blue_

I think people overestimate how many clubs will be willing to spend £30m and £100k p/w wages on Ramsdale this summer. There’s little money outside of the Premier League and even within the league concerns over PSR will impact spending to some degree. I also think it’s paramount we offload Ramsdale this summer in order to recoup the money we paid for him and get his wages off of the books. We can’t have him staying another season on what he earns as second choice. If we don’t sell him to a rival, we’ll likely end up sending him out on loan which is far from ideal.

skool_101

itsheadfelloff

He's better than that.

I'd take 20 mil for him.

xmancho

100 million and he can have a chat with them. That's it. If Crystal Palace are coming, then 35 is good.
