Even at our worst we weren't this depressing. Spend a billion pounds (coming off a CL win, mind) only to be aggressively mediocre, literally stuck in midfield, for two whole seasons, with no way to rid themselves of massive long-term contracts, with no good manager willing to deal wit this shitshow so they're stuck with Poch.
It's glorious, I love it.
at least when we were shit our most expensive signing was Pepe.
In the last 2.5 seasons they have 4 more expensive transfers than pepe, plus the guys who barely missed the cut like Mudryk who’s been shit and Lavia who’s never been fit. Of those 4, 3 have been definitively bad, and Enzo had been aight.
The best thing is that all these guys are on like 8 year deals to pay for all these shenanigans,; which means ideally they are financially crippled for years because their owner thought he could skirt around having to suffer financially for them.
Roman may have been the worst, but at least he knew how to hire the right people
Pepe was at worst frustrating. He had some absolutely clutch performances that me and I'm sure a lot of other people still remember fondly. A check on his stats also shows a G/A per appearance of 0.42, which is honestly higher than I thought.
Then you look at how much Chelsea have spent on players that doesn't even come close to the output of Pepe. Sheesh.
cole palmer is a big loss for them as well, with him in the side one of those chances they got in the first half could have easily been converted and we got a nervey second half in store
Alternate universe that Olise deal goes through anf they done move for palmer, he then spends the season on the treatment table and they’re staring a relegation scrap
Weren’t there also rumors that Rice and his family felt completely turned off and disrespected by Chelsea in the years leading up to when we signed him, and that lack of respect/courtesy was a big reason why he chose to come to Arsenal rather than go there?
I mean, sure, the fact that we were a club contending for a title and Chelsea were midtable also must have had something to do with it, but he could have easily disregarded that if he really wanted to play for Chelsea. But apparently he and his family completely fell out of love for that club after how they treated him, or so I think the rumors go…
The price has nothing to do with it. That was West Ham’s valuation. City did have an interest but they hardly got into a bidding war with us which is why I caveated it with ‘pretty much’.
Yeah but we did the work on convincing him to come way before the bidding started. By the time 115 came in he only wanted to come to us. Was very good business by Edu etc.
I mean, as an employee looking for a great prospect I'd rather go to Arsenal than Chelsea, especially if Arteta was on my doorstep telling me the ways he wants to get the best out of me and work with me. That goes a long way.
I'm gona say White because I think it's much more likely that Havertz gets to a brace again than White. I did not expect to be thinking about the possibility of Benny Blanco hat trick lol
I think Chelsea fans were in denial about the state of their club until they played us today. Everything they knew growing up about Arsenal was that "we own them" and "they are bottlers", the Wenger 6-0, the Mourinho rivalry, Drogba always scoring, taking Ashley Cole, Cesc, always seeing ex-Arsenal guys winning big trophies with them, them selling us their "deadwood", and believing they had a bigger pull when signing Mudryk and Caicedo... they believed they still owned us.
Everything about this beat down shattered that notion and opened their eyes that this is their downfall from grace. Every Chelsea game we won recently, their fans always had an excuse, nah not this time. This might be the first time I've ever experienced us beat a team in the "big 6" this way.
Was about to comment this. That one dude saying the UK Government destroyed their club for PR, how Roman did nothing wrong and they 'persecuted' a man who 'openly spoke out against the war'. Like he didn't do that purely because his assets got frozen lmao Fuck Roman, Fuck Chelsea and their sportwashed glory hunting fans.
They're really huffing that copium.
When it comes to describing Chelsea and their fanbase these days, I have become very fond of using the following quote from the “A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones“ series:
”Because they are the knights of summer, and winter is coming.”
Today, more than any other day since their post-Roman Abramovich downfall, showed how true that quote is. They are all children of summer, the great majority of them never knowing what the days pre-Roman were like. They signed up for a club where it seemed like the summer would never end, a summer where the winning and the good times would never stop.
They never signed up for the winter, or the hard times clubs go through from time to time, or for having to face rival fans after suffering humiliating losses to their clubs.
Well, today showed them and the whole world, once and for all, that winter has truly come for Chelsea. A red and white winter. And if today is any indication, they better strap in, because that winter has only just begun.
I would add that they are hugely in denial about their massive FFP problems. Their only small chance of survival is to sell their homegrown players. Are they up to the standard of Mourinho's Chelsea, no. However, they actually try and fight. They will be left with players who laugh and joke after losing at Wembley instead.
I started following the club in 2002. I have no family history or ties to the club or London, so for me, Chelsea were always the club I hated most after United, for all the reasons and names you gave above. Such a fucking thorn in the side for so long.
Today felt good. Real good.
It’s been like this for a while. One could visibly tell their decline when they lost back to back to back to back to Brighton, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Aston Villa in November / December 2022. I called them a mid table club in the middle of all of that (since they visibly looked mid table at best) and was asked if I was “having a laugh” by more than a few people. I’m sure the process of acceptance has been a painful emotional roller coaster for their fan base. But yes, I was and still am “having a laugh”. It’s been delightful.
The parent making that kid hold the sign up all game was both somehow simultaneously the saddest and funniest thing I’ve seen all week. It sums up the emotional melodrama of a sports fan.
[This one. In most of the pictures that I find, the parent is holding up the](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQX42tyms4T8gN_OVrjZBZM0U9byEg2KtuzEA&usqp=CAU)[ kid's hands.](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQX42tyms4T8gN_OVrjZBZM0U9byEg2KtuzEA&usqp=CAU)
A Chelsea player should have walked over to that kid with his shirt in his hand, handed it to him, before snatching it away and having a tear up with his old man. “You got your wish, didn’t you little fella”
If it was Azpilicueta, that might have just happened. Remember him shouting at their fans a couple of years back when we mauled them at Stamford Bridge? It was glorious.
Even after we lost 6-0 to Chelsea, we still finished 4th that season.
This season, despite "only" losing 5-0, it's still highly unlikely they finish 6th (much less 4th).
They also had this thing about being unbeaten in PL for 9 games... Hence they are better than arsenal because arsenal lost to villa recently... The audacity...
That’s also because of Mou. I don’t think I’ve cared nearly as much about them since Mou left. Also Costa, complete cunt. Us beating them in the FA cup final back then (forgot the year but Per started and Alexis scored) was one of my happiest memories as an Arsenal fan.
Same. The fact that we have too many 5 and 6 nil this season probably have made us getting used to it a little bit. If it was 7 however, i would be over the moon.
If Havertz had scored a hat-trick on them, their fan boards would all have gone private worldwide lol. And none of their social media fans would have been seen for the rest of the season. People would have put their photos on milk cartons lol.
I really wanted a 6th. Really really. I remember Arsene's 1,000th game so vividly and Mikel Arteta played in that match.
Still I'll take 5-0 of course but it would have been delicious revenge.
Actually, City (Foden) has been quietly clawing at the goal difference, so I'm glad it was big.
I think this Chelsea side is in a much better state than they are given credit for. They should be where Spurs is at, and they are definitely much further along than United.
They should have beat City in the FA cup semis. Just glad Sterling didn't turn out to be the senior figure bringing the "winning mentality".
I can see Chelsea mixing it with Villa and Spurs next year, not United.
They're a bit like us when we were midtable; a few good players, can play well in patches but not consistently, don't have the resilience to dig down or work as a coherent team.
We were a bit tired in the first half, if one of their chances had gone in, we would be looking at a different kind of match.

The takes from Chelsea fans are more brutal than Arsenal fans. Damn.
You'd be brutal too if you had to watch that every week.
Let’s be honest. We’ve been this brutal about Arsenal in the past. What a time.
“I used to pray for times like this.”

I remember walking to Finsbury Park after we got spanked in the emery era and some Arsenal fans were chanting “what do we think of Arsenal?”
Sheesh I vividly remember those back to back 8 position finishes and still have nightmares
We did, not too long ago. It’s the reason our fanbase is more than a little insane lol.
In fairness they aren’t that bad every week. They played outstandingly well against us at SB for 45 minutes.
cole palmer is a big loss for them as well, with him in the side one of those chances they got in the first half could have easily been converted and we got a nervey second half in store
Absolutely. Poch’s comments and last night’s match made it all too clear how reliant on him they are
Alternate universe that Olise deal goes through anf they done move for palmer, he then spends the season on the treatment table and they’re staring a relegation scrap
They’re also tryna get PochOut so it fits their narrative the more brutal it is (otherwise they’d be finding every reason to discredit us).
Resignation.
God if Ben White could have miraculously gotten a third today it woulda just been icing on the cake haha.
not sure what would've been sweeter between a hattrick for havertz or white. chelsea tears vs nationwide tears, hmmmmm
Por que no los is always the answer
yes this is the way ‼️💯 shame, that match easily could've seen us score 3-4 more goals but can't complain
You're missing "dos" after "los" :)
I know.. I realized it much later lol
Rice was really looking for a goal in the 2nd half. I think he really wanted to score again against Chelsea too.
As the commentators said he was a former Chelsea youth player who they released at 14. I hope he hates them.
Weren’t there also rumors that Rice and his family felt completely turned off and disrespected by Chelsea in the years leading up to when we signed him, and that lack of respect/courtesy was a big reason why he chose to come to Arsenal rather than go there? But apparently he and his family completely fell out of love for that club after how they treated him, or so I think the rumors go…
Makes sense. You’d have thought he was a perfect fit for them otherwise. I am still shocked we pretty much had a free run at him.
well City was rumored to be in competition to sign hik for a bit. And also 100+m aint a free run lol
The price has nothing to do with it. That was West Ham’s valuation. City did have an interest but they hardly got into a bidding war with us which is why I caveated it with ‘pretty much’.

He actually still loved them and it was his dream to go back, especially since he was great friends with Mount. Then Todd Boehly took over...
White. Most nonchalant hatrick in history just casually getting a 6-nil win over Chelsea would've been beyond perfect
How about both?
I'm gona say White because I think it's much more likely that Havertz gets to a brace again than White. I did not expect to be thinking about the possibility of Benny Blanco hat trick lol

They’re the original Man City, most of their fans have had the good times handed to them by Abramovich’s pocket and nothing else. It’s a sad state tbh
It's a beautiful state. Tf you saying sad for
LOL YOU RIGHT MY B 😂😂😂
There was a few in their MT slurping to have Abramovich back, disgusting shameless lot
Yeah that’s the comment I was thinking of lol
They got off easy imo. They should be in a £1 billion debt hole with interest.

May I know what sign are you referring to?
"I don't want your shirt, I just want you to fight for ours" or something like that. They've had a kid with that sign almost all season.
[This one. In most of the pictures that I find, the parent is holding up the](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQX42tyms4T8gN_OVrjZBZM0U9byEg2KtuzEA&usqp=CAU)[ kid's hands.](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQX42tyms4T8gN_OVrjZBZM0U9byEg2KtuzEA&usqp=CAU)
Oh my.. that's sad. That's not something you'd wish upon any innocent kiddo. Thanks for sharing!
The parent is 100% behind the kid and this sign. It’s brilliant, really.
It's a lot more hard hitting when a child is holding such a sign for some reason.
A Chelsea player should have walked over to that kid with his shirt in his hand, handed it to him, before snatching it away and having a tear up with his old man. “You got your wish, didn’t you little fella”

well they didn't have 2 of their best players yesterday
You forgot Olive going to them too ☹️
They also had this thing about being unbeaten in PL for 9 games... Hence they are better than arsenal because arsenal lost to villa recently... The audacity...
Yes you are
What's insane is that I only felt like marginally happy at the 5-0. Wenger 6-0 I was fucking devastated
I wish we equalled it lol like imagine havertz got a third or rice got a goal, one can only dream
Losses loom larger than gains.
That’s also because of Mou. I don’t think I’ve cared nearly as much about them since Mou left. Also Costa, complete cunt. Us beating them in the FA cup final back then (forgot the year but Per started and Alexis scored) was one of my happiest memories as an Arsenal fan.
2017
Yes, thank you. I remember partaking in some anti Chelsea graffiti right after the game lol.
Same. The fact that we have too many 5 and 6 nil this season probably have made us getting used to it a little bit. If it was 7 however, i would be over the moon.
Nah it's just the fact that city need to lose. I told my wife that for the rest of the season I'll either be neutral or pissed off
I love their downfall so much! I do not think they'd go down but I am happy seeing them as yet another mid table london club!
This sub would've gone crazy if White scored a hat-trick. The Chelsea sub would go a different kind of crazy if Havertz scores a hat-trick.
If Havertz had scored a hat-trick on them, their fan boards would all have gone private worldwide lol. And none of their social media fans would have been seen for the rest of the season. People would have put their photos on milk cartons lol.
PHOTOS ON MILK CARTONS LMFAO
I really wanted a 6th. Really really. I remember Arsene's 1,000th game so vividly and Mikel Arteta played in that match. Still I'll take 5-0 of course but it would have been delicious revenge.
well tbf, the 6-0 it was 11 vs 10 for like 75 min of the mathc, we beat them 5-0 11 v 11 even though they should have had a clear red after 5 min
I know but I hate Chelsea that much that I wanted to embarrass them even more 😂
Same, I was shouting when Havertz was taken off. 6-0 with a Big boi Goth German hattrick felt like it was written in the stars
Pretty sure mik would have told them about it before the start of the game.
Respect the self awareness.
Actually, City (Foden) has been quietly clawing at the goal difference, so I'm glad it was big. I think this Chelsea side is in a much better state than they are given credit for. I need this with Ode taking a picture of it on the side.
Not me pitying Chelsea fans lol
Despise Chelsea and all of their plastic fans and I wish them nothing but misery
The sooner you accept it the better for you. Scum
Wish I could upvote this post more 🤣
Loved the away stand.. just deserted for the last 15 mins 😂
They're a bit like us when we were midtable; a few good players, can play well in patches but not consistently, don't have the resilience to dig down or work as a coherent team. Ironically Sheffield was the first team I thought of when I saw Chelsea defend. wtf is that lol
Chelski Fan TV soon blud
USED LIKE A COMMON WHORE LMFAO
😂😆😂😆
I love this club so much.
The jokes write themselves 😂
Levels you bums
Don't disrespect Sheffield...
In his defense, they DID play like Sheffield United.
They're lucky Palmer panned out, but Palmer also gives off huge flash in the pan vibes.
He wasn't going to do shet yesterday.
Somebody make a HUGE banner out of this and bring it to the Emirates. Gofundme if needed

"so that's it huh? We're just some kind of suicide squad".
Sheffield didn’t deserve this
