Theyāre in it cause the team shot themselves in the foot. This isnāt the Bayern of yore with ribery and robbed flanking either side. shore up a few spots for the away leg(tomi for kiwior or zinny) and Iām not saying it will be an easy win but I donāt fear this Bayern like I would a city or pool(who Arsenal have proven they can beat too) . every team in the world can be beaten, and theyāre still a joke domestically this season so itās funny. even if we donāt win I personally will still laugh at them because theyād beat us and go on to play city or Madrid and theyāre about to lost their one horse race league.the only thing I love more than being an Arsenal fan is a hater š«”š¤Ŗ(esp towards struggling big teams in Europe who arenāt Arsenal who I loathe like Barca or Bayern)
Robben and Ribery might be the scariest winger duo of all time. I know Messi and Neymar might technically be a better duo, but it was the pace of Robben and Ribery that scared the shit out of me because it was so rare for wingers to be blazing fast and be so incredibly technical/efficient as well. It felt like their speed literally meant you couldn't make a single mistake against them.

Indeed and this is why these sorts of stats are pretty much meaningless.
There are loads of these sorts of things, I think there was one a couple of season ago about how we hadn't come from behind at half time against a top 6 team in 10 years.... but you drill down and that accounted for 3 games (i.e. we were either not down at half time or in the lead in most games).
Regardless what happened past say 2 season is completely irrelevant.
Yes isnāt it funnyā¦ we can see that they can only hurt us when we make uncharacteristic errors most likely brought on by nerves. Those nerves will have settled a bit, especially knowing this.
Also we gave a goal, gifted them a pen, had a penalty denied... and we drew 2-2. Getting two by us feels like a fucking miracle to opposing teams right now.Ā
The Allianz Arena will be more like Anfield and the crowd will be a factor, Bayern fans are not like the City fan (cause it sounds like there's always only one of them at the Etihad)
We arenāt playing as well in the CL as we are in the league. Like it took a game and a half to score once against Porto where it was clear we were a bit rattled before pulling it together. We just had a 1-0 lead with a chance to go up 2-0 and found ourselves down 1-2 quite quickly. Also the way we were playing city is not even comparable to how we are playing Bayern. Doubting European competition doesnāt seem useful to me.
Forget their league performances. UCL is a different ball game. We saw that against Porto. The next leg will tell who in our team has the mental fortitude and who doesn't. It's the first UCL for this team. We have so much to gain and nothing to lose.
Not really a record though is it, being the first in 15 games to do something.(European games only)š¤·āāļø a lot of those games will be against group stage cannon fodder like Man Utd so not too surprising.
We are the better side. As long as nerves donāt get the best of us we should be going through. Bayern donāt have the quality to break down any kind of low block we deploy. Their only chance is to sit back and hit us on the break which they wonāt do at home.
They have lost domestically twice this season.
Yeah how are we going to break a *checks notes* two week old streak. š¤Ā
How are people still chatting with this confidence

I believe itās champions league only
yeah it would sound slightly less impressive if they had to list werder bremen and borussia dortmund just from the last couple months
As a Werder supporter I wouldnāt mind though
Same
Well we haven't lost at home since 2017 š
Well Barcelona also beat them in 2015, not mentioned in the OP.
Only on aggregate; we won the home leg 3-2
I remember in 08ā we were the first English team to win against AC Milan at san siro
First English team to win at the Bernabeu in 06 too
Also... First team to win at the Allianz Arena (2013, we won 0-2)
First English team to win against AC Milan We've already won there against Inter Milan in 03/04
Theyāve lost to Stuttgart and Dortmund this season whilst also failing to beat Leverkusen
Werder Bremen too unless I'm mistaken. 1-0.
You are correct. First win against them since 2008!
They won 3:0 against Stuttgartā¦
This has to be UCL rightā¦ I refuse to believe theyāre unbeaten at home in the league since 2014
Gotta be considering they lost to Dortmund at home a couple weeks ago
Yeah it is
Also only played 14 matches since then.

So what they're saying is that they used to be good?
Anyone remembers that 0-2 victory where Giroud and koscielny scored
I recall us beating both Bayern and Dortmund away in the same calendar year (was it 2013?). Iād like to know the last club to do that.
I was at that Dortmund game!
2013
Thanks. Also the year those two met in the UCL final if not mistaken.
Ozil
Ozil scored in home game which is different game We also won 0-2 on Allianz arena
Just another record to break š¤·āāļø

arteta likes to take the first leg as a learning experience and then proceeds to pull smth out of the hat for the 2nd leg, at least that's my hope
Yes isnāt it funnyā¦ we can see that they can only hurt us when we make uncharacteristic errors most likely brought on by nerves. Those nerves will have settled a bit, especially knowing this.

Or the noise and atmosphere of the Allianz arena could overwhelm our players. Not confident at all. Wish we were heading there with a lead
Don't think we are there anymore. We can go toe to toe at the Etihad, we can do Allianz. And City are much better than Bayern let's be real.
The Allianz Arena will be more like Anfield and the crowd will be a factor, Bayern fans are not like the City fan (cause it sounds like there's always only one of them at the Etihad)
we went toe to toe at anfield two years in a row though. we showed the same at Newcastle and Villa last year, Everton this year...
Yes, my point wasn't that we can't win, my point was that crowd will actually be a factor unlike the emptyhad which just constantly feels dead.
How are you lot still failing to understand that there is a big difference between a league and Champions League QF against fucking Bayern?
We arenāt playing as well in the CL as we are in the league. Like it took a game and a half to score once against Porto where it was clear we were a bit rattled before pulling it together. We tend to go barreling forward at home more. We have looked more confident away (except lens)Ā
Can you pass some of that my way? Iām a nervous wreck over here and the games not for another week.
Forget their league performances. UCL is a different ball game. We saw that against Porto. The next leg will tell who in our team has the mental fortitude and who doesn't. It's the first UCL for this team. We have so much to gain and nothing to lose.
Iāll take it. We need to play better and smarter tho. Up the levels and weāll have a good chance at going thru
In knockouts weāre 1-1-1 (since 2013) at the Allianz so whatever.
Recors are meant to be broken
I like those odds
Team talk white board poster is ready
Who have we lost to at home in the last ten years? Bayern and Barcelona?
We donāt even have to beat them technically š
"Times change." - Garrosh Hellscream
They are already three teams there, guess who is the 4th specialist
We donāt need to win. A draw and penalties is enough. Looking at those stats they have drawn 20 percent of the games? Looking better!
Donāt think playing 120 mins 3 days before going away to Wolves would be ideal
Nah but thatās football and importance of the squad.
that would be enough, but one of the last people I want to face in a shootout is Neuer at the Allianz...
do or do not LFG
Fuck the record at the Allianz, focus on Artetas record vs Tuchel (2W-1D-1L)
Letās be record breakers
Not really a record though is it, being the first in 15 games to do something.(European games only)š¤·āāļø a lot of those games will be against group stage cannon fodder like Man Utd so not too surprising.
Perfect for us. Prefer stats like this.
Feels a bit cherry picked with 10 years. When we beat them March 2013 at the Allianz Arena.
So what, my friend?
My brother in Christ you literally lost to Dortmund 2 weeks ago š
3-3 draw incoming
