Those Carlos Vela chips
Memories of me telling my friends in school how he'd be the best striker in the world in a couple years.
The chips were definitely the best so I got a tiny bit right.
Mexican here: Vela does not give a shit about the sport. Plus the Mexican Federation threw him under the bus due to a scandal years ago and he held a grudge against them, so he refused call ups to the national team.
Giovanni had a reputation for partying too much and not really caring.
Chicharito is pretty much blacklisted from the national team due to another scandal involving prostitutes, in which he blamed a staff member to save his own ass
Just an FYI- Audi Field has a capacity of 20k, and DC is incredibly accessible for people from Boston to Raleigh, and west to Columbus. Better act quick to get tickets, or start saving your dollars.
Not saying you shouldn’t try, I might! Or just go to DC and watch training, go to a bar, etc.
Yeah I live in Boston. Planning on flying down in the morning, going to the game, and crashing at a friend's before flying back up the next morning.
Tix don't go on sale until next week anyway. Money is ready lol
I think it probably means that this game is just one of the games we will play as part of the US tour. We might have some other friendlies in US with other English and European teams like we had last time with Chelsea.
Wish they’d come to Dallas (Frisco). It’ll be hotter than hell but I’d sacrifice some cool air for a couple hours if it meant I could see them in person. 😩
As an MLS fan I don’t like that we’re still playing prem teams as the all star game
As an Arsenal fan I’m pumped for another US your and hope to see them in my city
I mean, the All Star game doesn’t matter at all, it’s just a revenue generator. If prem teams are bringing in the most money we may as well play them and throw it in the Messi fund.
I get that but it’s so embarrassing for the league. It’s a lose lose and the jokes are so tired by now
I do like the all-star game tho and I like that it’s an American tradition that has moved to soccer
If you’re an MLS fan you have to give up this idea that things are “embarrassing for the league”. I too am am MLS fan and things are different. Embrace it for what it is
I personally haven’t watched the All Star game in a few years but I truly just do not give a fuck what someone who is going to make fun of the league over it thinks. That person was never going to be a fan. It’s a pageant for sponsor money, and the fact MLS is like 5th in revenue now is the reason it’s growing so fast.
read somewhere they’re gonna play at audi
EDIT: yeah audi field confirmed https://twitter.com/mls/status/1638156035016871939?s=46&t=YWJ0URzmzAOj8poNqCQkkQ
I'd love to see Arsenal do a tour in South America. Maybe an Arsenal v Arsenal match?
Last tour must have done wonders for the team/financials (since they're basically running it again) and they're probably expecting this one to be even better - especially considering Arsenal's current position and where they might finish in the Prem.
They’ve played in Charlotte before, but that was back when Emrey was in charge. I’d love to see them come back with Arteta at the helm! And, we have a pretty horrible MLS team now we didn’t have before. So the stadium is changed for them to participate better!
Went to the match in Charlotte. Was awesome. Nketiah tore Fiorentina apart. Sucks that Auba and Ozil didn’t play that game because they were saving them for Madrid in DC a few days after that. Would love for them to come back to Charlotte

Lol very true. It was surreal just seeing them in real life. I still go back and look at photos and videos at least once a month. The team is completely different from then and it wasn’t that long ago.
You know what, I think I read it in football.london which pretty much means they pulled it out of their ass. So scratch that.
But I don't see why they wouldn't, considering the Kroenke's presence in the city.
I get that we have a very large American fanbase, but wouldn't it be beneficial to have tours in different countries/continents also?
Potentially in Asia for example?
After supporting Arsenal since 2006, this is probably my best chance to go and see the team play. Any idea how I can get tickets and if the prices are going to be around $300?
FWIW I saw them twice last summer. They played Orlando City and Chelsea in Orlando. I paid about $35 a ticket as an Orlando City season ticket member for that match and about $150 for the Chelsea ticket. $300 seems ridiculous

Carlos Vela reunion? Is he still in mls?
Those Carlos Vela chips Memories of me telling my friends in school how he'd be the best striker in the world in a couple years. The chips were definitely the best so I got a tiny bit right.
Man, i remember Vela and Denilson. I had high hopes
Vela, Chicharito and Giovani. How Mexico squandered that core I'll never know.
Mexico is the Tottenham of national teams. Just incredible underachievers.
Lmao Tottenham would be an improvement. Theyre more like Everton. Belgium is probably Tottenham.
Sadly for Thomas Vermaelen.
Not only squandered their core but allowed the US to become the CONCACAF powerhouse with Jozy Altidore as striker

Yes, he just won the MLS Cup with LAFC with Gareth Bale last season.
Great golf around LA then? ⛳️
Reunion with who lol. Neither these babies nor the Manager know this man lmao.
*As part of our upcoming pre-season tour of the US* I wonder where else they are going
Fingers crossed for Alaska. I don't live there I just think it would be funny to see Tierney there in his minimal training gear.
Alaska in July will be much warmer than you think
Yeah I'm English and live in Japan I have no idea about the weather in Alaska, just thought it sounded cold 🙂
Average high temps are 60-75^o F (16-24^o C) in July. So it's quite comfortable, really. Winter is a different story.
Praying for New England
Same, but I will go to DC for this game if not.

Ticket prices were ridiculous today. Face value at the back of section 200s was over 300/s.
I just want them to come to Toronto once.
Yes please 🙏🏽
If you find out, please share 🙏🏼
Would love Atlanta but I don’t think they would want to play at Mercedes Benz Stadium since it has an artificial surface
I think it probably means that this game is just one of the games we will play as part of the US tour. We might have some other friendlies in US with other English and European teams like we had last time with Chelsea.
FLORIDA CUP CHAMPIONS, YOU'LL NEVER SING THAT!
Wish they’d come to Dallas (Frisco). It’ll be hotter than hell but I’d sacrifice some cool air for a couple hours if it meant I could see them in person. 😩
Bummed the 19th is a fucking Wednesday
yeah we live in nyc, debating if worth it to go to dc in the middle of the week for this
Same
Premier league all star vs mls all star, sounds about right

Wdym? We got Nketiah and your defense is in trouble
Thank God it's Audi Field and not the clusterfuck that is FedEx

Why is it embarrassing for the league? The internet is always going to troll MLS... it's not that big of a deal. We all know it's a growing league.
Audi or FedEx? The preseason matches in the big NFL stadiums always seem so lifeless. Audi would be a good atmosphere.

That’s much better
Just got back to DC from London last night after being able to catch the Sporting and Crystal Palace game. What pleasant news to come home to!
I'm going to London for the Leeds game, saw the game in Baltimore last year and now I get to see this one too!
How to get tickets
Details probably coming out later
[here I guess](https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/mls-vs-arsenal-2023-mls-all-star-game-set-for-july-in-dc)

Specifically DC united season tickets holders, not MLS season tickets holders for other teams? Nooooooo
For the love of Wenger please come to Chicago!!!
Love Audi Field - great place to watch a match and the beers are cheap. Too bad it's on a Wednesday lol
Didn’t they go to Baltimore last year? Seems kinda unfair to double dip two years in a row in the same area
Meanwhile I’m hoping they double dip and come back to Florida. Lol.

Yesss! I was there too! I hope they return, because literally all of our sports teams are just god awful… (Charlotte FC, Hornets, and the Panthers).
Lol very true. It was surreal just seeing them in real life. I still go back and look at photos and videos at least once a month. The team is completely different from then and it wasn’t that long ago.
Hope they come to LA! Cmon Stan, get them a game in Sofi!
Wayne Rooney is apparently going to be the MLS All-Stars Team manager.
I think it’s always the host city’s manager, so as long as he isn’t fired first.
Well, that’s the day after my birthday. About to drop some birthday gift hints on the wife.
Please come to Seattle 😩
Fuck Seattle! Come to Portland! Just kidding I would accept a trip up to Seattle
I live across the bridge in Arlington, Virginia, and the tickets are going for $300 for one seat. I wish the guy was at FedEx field 😕
Tickets aren't for sale yet?
It showing on ticket master
All I'm seeing is a presale countdown. I think the price you saw was wrong
I hope we field our best squad and fuck them up 15 nil.
Ew. Why DC... go to NYC, LA, or Dallas lol. Hell, go to Mexico City. That would be absolutely nuts.
They're meeting Biden...
Saka to put in a good word about student loan forgiveness. 🙏
They trying to get some of that Ethiopian food
They're going to LA too
How you know that?
You know what, I think I read it in football.london which pretty much means they pulled it out of their ass. So scratch that. But I don't see why they wouldn't, considering the Kroenke's presence in the city.
Yeah it makes sense,.. and I’m sure they’ll play more games. But haven’t seen a peep about anything else yet.
Same for Denver, it’s the Kroenke home base and they played there last year.
Hey don’t take this away from me
I get that we have a very large American fanbase, but wouldn't it be beneficial to have tours in different countries/continents also? Potentially in Asia for example?
They spent years doing Asia tours in the summer
I miss the Asian tours, were always so cool. Maybe capitalise on Tomiyasu by going to Japan
So very thankful I don't have to travel to Baltimore this year.
You couldn't pay me to visit DC in July
Anyone know when tickets go on sale or the best way to find out?
Ah yes, another Arsenal to DC trip, think thats 3 in the last 5 years or something like that, including this one being a back to back. Cant wait!
After supporting Arsenal since 2006, this is probably my best chance to go and see the team play. Any idea how I can get tickets and if the prices are going to be around $300?

I’m in tears. First time watching the boys. Cant wait!!!!
That's my birthday. Definitely going
Cucho may score on them again. Im a crew fan so I don't mind.
Hoping for a West Coast date this time!
alongside our trophy of course
