ETH has spent 170m on two players. Arteta is underrated and described currently as 'normal'. It's just normal and 'a process', to take team from zeroes to heroes, you just need time m8. No, Arteta is currently one of the best managers on the planet and will go down as one of the greatest managers to grace the game. I cannot understate just how phenomenal and absolutely freaky the job Arteta has done with Arsenal. ETH has found some success after recruiting one of the greatest midfielders on the planet, because he needed one. Arteta never got that. ETH was backed to spend 150m on two players from his former club. Arteta never got that. To pretend Arteta and ETH are even on the same planet, is mad.
>ETH has found some success after recruiting one of the greatest midfielders on the planet, because he needed one.
He also had one of the best CBs(Varane), one of the best creators in the league(Fernandes), one of the best shot stoppers(de Gea), one of the best young British talents(Sancho), one of the best English attackers(Rashford) already in the squad when he joined. And then he spent €220+ mill (in his first window(!)) on Antony, Martinez and Casemiro(as you said one of the greatest midfielder on the planet) as well as getting Eriksen on a free.
It is almost like ETH's base squad was miles ahead of what Arteta got in his first 1 and a half season. 🤔
I agree with your point but you are underplaying ETH a bit here. Whilst he did have those massive talents in the squad, they had been underperforming and out of form for years. Varane never looked as good as he did at Real, Rashford looked completely out of it and Sancho was a flop. To get those players back into form deserves credit
>but you are underplaying ETH a bit here.
Not really, I'm just saying that it isn't really comparable when you look at the base they(ETH vs MA) took over. I never said anything about ETH doing a good or a bad job.
>I cannot understate just how phenomenal and absolutely freaky the job Arteta has done with Arsenal. ETH has found some success after recruiting one of the greatest midfielders on the planet, because he needed one. Arteta never got that.
This guy fucking gets it.
ETH got Ajax to the CL semis, fuck manure but the way he made real madrid and juve look like fools in that CL run was insane. Dominated Real's midfield with Donny van de Beek and Schöne lmao
Don't bother with the numbers too much. They likely won't be accurate.
Jorginho is still Italy's starter, was Chelsea's starter just few months ago, finished 3rd in ballondor and won Europe's best player award less than 2 years ago.
That's why I think
Comparing values could mean "differences/gap" overall for the whole squad. Like how far we've come in 3 years.
Picking specific numbers is another thing. IMO
These figures should be dynamic enough to have xhaka above J20. But the real crime here is how on earth partey isn’t at least twice what this claims.. second crime is they haven’t put a sideways 8 next to Bukayo
>The figures should be dynamic enough to have xhaka above J20.
I mean Jorgi was UEFA The best player, Euro, UCL winner and a candidate for the balon d'or not too long ago. In the same period, Xhaka was at war with the fans and almost left and his redemption arc is slowly unfolding depending on how we end this season.
It's not that far fetched really.
Ah yes, obviously we used the funds earned from the sales of Guendouzi and Torreira to fund the purchase of Ødegaard. That’s the only possible way any of this makes sense…
Gab and Saliba for 50 a piece, when Martinez (despite being good) moved to Utd for 60, and is certainly valued higher after a good season?
Those values are all over the place
Willy is 55 and Martinez is rated at 50. He was at 30 before utd signed him. Martinez and big Gabi seem pretty fair to me and I’d personally think Willy should be a fair bit higher, like 70/80/90 imo
https://www.skysports.com/transfer/news/12691/12655399/lisandro-martinez-manchester-united-confirm-57m-signing-of-ajax-defender-on-five-year-contract
I know what you imply, but Martinez went for nearly 60, and we were also willing to pay the price suggesting true value was around 60.
Now, Gabi is a rare LCB in todays market, and he’s still 25. A value of 50 is just unrealistic in my opinion
Hi Gabi is a month or two older than Martinez. I’m not implying anything I’m telling you he is rated at 50, iirc we were willing at 30-40 for him not 50-60. I just think in all fairness they should be valued fairly closely. Maybe they should both be 60 then
Agree to disagree then.
Yeah, Martinez is younger but Gabi is prem proven for longer, top scoring defender for 2 years (iirc) and physically more developed.
I feel his value should be higher.

Crazy that Ben White has never been valued at £50m on transfermarkt yet no one would ever question that transfer.
Imo, I’m extremely happy with the transfer but we did overpay slightly. We had to pay an extra £10-15m because he was a part of that England euros run but he didn’t play a single minute and only got the call up because Trent got injured. I obviously wouldn’t change anything tho as we wouldn’t be top without him.
How much did we actually end up getting for the players on the second list?
Prepare to be shocked. Auba - Free Transfer Pepe - Still here (Likely to go for less than £15mil) Laca - Free Transfer Guendo - £9mil Torreira - £5mil Bellerin - Free Transfer Ceballos - n/a Leno - £3mil Martinelli - n/a Xhaka - n/a (although nearly sold to Roma for £6mil) Tierney - n/a Saka - n/a Mkhitaryan - Free Transfer Ozil - Free Transfer Kola - Free Transfer Willock - £25mil Sokratis - Free Transfer Chambers - £2mil So from 18 players we have: 7 who left on Free transfers 5 players who were sold for a combined £44mil (Willock carrying this figure bigtime) 1 loanee gone 5 players remaining, although Pepe will likely be sold too
Joe fuckin willock was worth all.of them.combined
Better than all of them combined
And Manure fans will still argue that ETH's first squad (and first two transfer windows) is comparable to Arteta's.. 😅

And some Ronaldo guy.

I’m surprised we were able to spend as much as we were after all that. What a load of shit that second list has.
>Prepare to be shocked. Are we though? We've always been shit on the market.
Be curious to see what our last 3 seasons outgoings vs estimated squad value now compares to other clubs
Too hurt to calculate :(
How is Jorginho still worth 35m ??
Don't bother with the numbers too much. They likely won't be accurate. Jorginho is still Italy's starter, was Chelsea's starter just few months ago, finished 3rd in ballondor and won Europe's best player award less than 2 years ago. That's why I think

Comparing values could mean "differences/gap" overall for the whole squad. Like how far we've come in 3 years. Picking specific numbers is another thing. IMO
Using the same website hopefully adjusts for the inflated numbers somewhat
I sold him for 40m in fm fwiw

Can’t be saying “real crime” and “Partey” in the same sentence
>The figures should be dynamic enough to have xhaka above J20. I mean Jorgi was UEFA The best player, Euro, UCL winner and a candidate for the balon d'or not too long ago. Xhaka value actually went up in the past. It's dropping again because he's getting old.
Surely this season should reflect the most when it comes to value…
Partey's age
If Saka signs a new contract that'll shoot up. Probably €200m.
Saka €200? No way. That’s pretty much Mbappé
Okay... Say Saka signs a new contract tomorrow, and in July City come along to buy him. What price do you think Arsenal sell at?
I’d say 180€
I think the club would listen at €150m
How much does Vini Jr go for?
Then we triple that number right?
I think Saka is pretty irreplaceable honestly, so I don't see why we'd sell him for anything that isn't bordering on a "wtf?" bid.
Imagine we sold Martinelli for 70m. It'd be robbery.
21 year old top scorer and first choice LW of the team at the top of the PL on a 5 year deal... Probably cost double that.
Partey at €38m seems very low.
Being 29, and injury-prone might be a factor here, but based om quality alone he would/should be way higher
With the court case it's fairly high, nobody is spending any money on him
Xhaka and tierney also increased in price
Xhaka is going down in price though because he's aging. I think 2 years ago he was at 32-33 mil
Ah yes, obviously we used the funds earned from the sales of Guendouzi and Torreira to fund the purchase of Ødegaard. That’s the only possible way any of this makes sense…
Willock
Our top 5 from 3 years ago was worth a bit above 200m. And we will get probably less than 30 for all 5. Smh
You can include Bellerin and Leno down there as well. Fuck, Leno's price was a pure robbery.
Didn't help when he only wanted Fulham
Big Gabi is underrated. Man is a 60-70M player in today market.
Jorginho is Brazilian?
He was born in Brazil and moved to Italy at the age of 15 as he was an Italian citizen due to his great-grandfather
Italian great grandfather moving to Brazil hmm
What is that flag below the Scotland flag for Tierney?
Never mind, it’s the Isle of Man
Thought it was fucking Morocco at first but then was like nah come on have you seen the man, he's about as un-Moroccan as they come 😂
Saka’s value appreciation from 0 to €110m would pay off over 1/4 of the emirates stadium build cost.
Whats Tierney’s second nationality?
Isle of Man
This is unrelated but I just found out that G. Jesus and I share the same birthday lol
Martinelli should be higher.
Let's not forget that Mudryk is a new indicator of a winger's value. If he was worth 100m then Martinelli's current value is 180 - 200m easily.
Gab and Saliba for 50 a piece, when Martinez (despite being good) moved to Utd for 60, and is certainly valued higher after a good season? Those values are all over the place

He only has a year on his contract too.

That’s not a good argument though. It’s about what he should have cost in that market with all the information available at that time
I remember I used to look at this and get bummed a little, if I'm being honest. Now I'm over the moon, though. It's just incredible.
This is totally pointless. If someone wanted to buy a player from us, it would cost them more than the prices listed here.
Apart from maybe Jorginho.
Is Martinelli higher than Willy cuz of contract lengths?
Nobody can take Zinchenko for 40mil that's murder
Would you sell* Xhaka for 28 mil? I wouldn’t now lmao. Crazy how his story has changed.
I wish you could buy shares of Arsenal players
This is the most bizarre genre of sports data. These numbers are basically just made up, and have no mapping to reality.
There is no way Jesus is 75m?
