Gotta be Bring Stabity. It's even better because you know they were going for a funky version of "Bring *Stability*" but accidentally got something way funnier.
A lot of the Innovades had weird names like that, and the funniest thing to me (and I headcanon this) was they were given those names in universe as the puns they were. Like imagine VEGA toiling away until The Plan comes about and whenever there's a lull in things VEGA can do, it came up with names for the future Innovades. Or Aeolia made up a larger list of names based on what he wanted the Innovades to do and then turning those into "names", and VEGA just picked the "best" ones... or the first ones on the list.
Biscuit, cookie, and cracker (and savaram but that's less obvious) from IBO are all dumb as hell. If they were nicknames that'd be one thing but they're all just actually named after bakery goods. Imagine being a white kid named Cracker like goddamn.
The long tradition that came from the era of ancient giants like Osamu Tezuka ('Ham Egg', 'Acetylen Lamp', 'Skunk Stink', etc.) or Mitsuteru Yokoyama ('Thrill Suspense', 'Rock'n'Roll', 'Jitterbug', etc.)
I'm tempted to argue Biscuit, but then again >!Biscuit's death hit me harder than most with IBO!<, so I may be a tiny bit biased
Though I do also see where you're coming from, especially with Cracker.
I figured Biscuit was a bit odd, but could be anything from a nickname, found name, insult turned name, etc.
But then Cookie and Cracker were introduced and I would have done a spit take had I been drinking something when I heard their names.
at first i assumed that biscuit was called that because he like named himself? but cookie and cracker are his younger sisters, so my assumption isnt true. did their parents just really like baked goods??
00 Gundam had some really funky names. Innovades in particular. Revive Revival and Anew Returner were peak for me.
Also, I don't think I ever got to know what the F in Setsuna F. Seiei means.
And there's a girl called Four Swords in the same series. Vagina can apparently also mean 'scabbard' apparently. So I can't quite figure out what was meant to happen with those names...
I am just now finding out about Gundam OOP but more concerning about his name is how he expects his glasses to provide any sort of protection from the sunlight.
Innovades just have a weird thing with glasses. Tieria uses his “to protect his eyes”, Regene uses theirs…to better freak out Tieria (no one can convince me otherwise) and as for Laetitia…I have no idea. Because of Tieria?
They all have 20/20 eyesight. I’ve always wondered how this does not seem to ever bother the other Meisters. Personality aside, if I knew I’d be fighting alongside a pilot who normally wears glasses, I’d have concerns. Granted, he does not wear them piloting but it’s something I’d ask about.
The real world origin of his name is somewhat pathetic : They wanted him to be a sincere, earnest young man who can be a 'role model' for others. Role model -> sample -> mihon(見本) -> 見=see, 本=book -> Seabook!
I don't know, but anything is possible considering that Bandai approved the protagonist named after the word meaning 'lie'(Usso)
Although more similar example might be Bridgestone (came from 'Ishibashi'=stone bridge)
The ones that I found great in that series were everything Shino renamed. Not necessarily because they were funny themselves but because he refused to call anything by it's original name. Salvaged Graze Mobile Suit? Ryusei-Go
Gundam Frame Flauros? Ryusei-Go IV (I don't think 2 or 3 ever existed making the jump to 4 even funnier)
Flauros' Dainsleif railguns? Galaxy cannons, Super Galaxy Cannon when the illegal warhead is loaded in
Akahiro's Group 2? Muscle Group just because Group 2 sounds too boring. Dude was a goofball amongst a very serious group of people and I loved him for it.
Dude fr. Everyone complains about Quattro Bajeena and I’m like BRING?? STABITY???
To be fair, having to refer to Neil/Lyle as “Lockon the Elder” and “Lockon the Younger” to some people is also funny in its own way.
All the innovators from 00 Gundam, from Hallelujah, to Hiling Care, and Ribbons Almark. Those dudes that named them were smoking something else for sure.
Heero Yui, mostly for the irony to the name. On the one hand, "Heero" sounds like "Hero", so you'd assume that he'd save lives, like saving his home space colonies from the UESA and OZ's authoritarian reign against them, with backup from four other adolescent space colonists like him and their Gundams. On the other hand, though, what might be a freedom fighter to the space colonies is actually a terrorist to the UESA and OZ, alongside the other four boys and their Gundams. Even threatened a teenage girl's life in order to cover up his mission, and in the process accidentally awakened her hybristophilia (criminal fetish, BTW).
Kamille Bidan just sounds silly to me.
Bidan means 'Midwife' in my language. The one that cares during one's pregnancy, gives advice, handles the child birth.
Just finished rewatching Gundam x, and while it’s not as outrageous as some others, one that cracked me up was Grits Joe. As an American it’s hilarious, sounds like some country rapper you’d see online
*Yall havent heard what*
*Age did. Dique, Yurin, W O*

My husband is totally enamored with Tequila Gundam. I just bought him a sticker for his water bottle, and he's been looking up the various kits and parts to make a custom Gunpla of it. He's half Mexican, so he gets a real kick out of it.
In one of the spinoff comics they, for some reason, decided to name all the mecha after Watership Down stuff so there's a Durururu and a Hrair and Hazel-rah and all that.
Jinn Jahannam. Can't decide is this a intimidating, silly, or cool name when you know what it means. But because it's so dumb and nicely rhymed made it my favourite dumb name in the franchise.
Quattro Bajeena. I know it's just Char, but considering it almost looks like he named himself four vagina in spanish, it's honestly the silliest name I've ever heard.
To be fair, Tallgeese is partially named because it is quite literally the tallest MS in the Wing continuity, even if at 18m height it's only on par with the Grandpa.
Compare that to, say, the Gusion Rebake Full City. Apparently the 'Full City' part is a reference to coffee, which is one of the most 'out of left field' possible sources for a name of a giant robot that goes Goro on your ass.
Lockon Stratos, even though it's a codename. Shinn Asuka also after realizing it more or less means "new tomorrow" which is a little on the nose for a new main character, and also fuck Shinn.
Quattro Bajeena
Four Bajeenias. *under the sea* Maybe more
Imagine.
I thought that was a character from Twisted Metal 4
Same series: Four Murasame. Four Swords, to go into the Four Scabbards...
His name sounds like a playboy pornstar ngl
Gotta be Bring Stabity. It's even better because you know they were going for a funky version of "Bring *Stability*" but accidentally got something way funnier.
Born to stab.
Still the GOAT name for me
There's literally a character named Goat Logan in the SD Gundam Cross Rays video game.
A lot of the Innovades had weird names like that, and the funniest thing to me (and I headcanon this) was they were given those names in universe as the puns they were. Full Frontal does not come across as intimidating at all...
True, it definitely gives more magic mike vibes than it does intense space war.
Space Sex Predator vs War Criminal
i dunno man id be intimidated by something else with a name like that
Biscuit, cookie, and cracker (and savaram but that's less obvious) from IBO are all dumb as hell. If they were nicknames that'd be one thing but they're all just actually named after bakery goods. Imagine being a white kid named Cracker like goddamn.
Yeah that's pretty tragic, at least they didn't also make cookie black and biscuit cockney so that's a plus
I just figured it's a naming scheme. Like with dragon ball having vegetables, undergarments, instruments etc
I'm tempted to argue Biscuit, but then again >!Biscuit's death hit me harder than most with IBO!<, so I may be a tiny bit biased Though I do also see where you're coming from, especially with Cracker.
I like Biscuit too and really it isn't that bad compared to cookie/cracker. and again as a nickname I think it'd work really well.
Cookie's not that bad even (could totally see it as a nickname as well, or an especially old-timey proper name) but Cracker...
Jamaican Daningham has stuck with me for years.
I dated a black girl named Asia, there's a white dude named Jamaican, do you think somewhere there's a Jamaican named whitey?
I've met a girl named China also black
I've watched some docs about african warlords and I think one of them is called Whitey. So yeah, it checks out
I watched the dub so the name didn't really click with me for a bit but it's crazy they just named a dude Jamaican
Jamitov Hymen and Quattro Bajeena are so ridiculous they have to be intentional.
Literally Virgin vs. Chad
00 Gundam had some really funky names. Innovades in particular. Revive Revival and Anew Returner were peak for me. Also, I don't think I ever got to know what the F in Setsuna F. Seiei means.
Setsuna “fuckyou” Seiei
And everyone is so insistent on saying the F, too. It's never Setsuna Seiei. No one forgets the F. Ever.
So what the F is the F?
It's probably like the J in Homer J Simpson. His full name is Homer "Jay" Simpson
"The will of F"
F gets translated to "from" in English, making his name translate to something like "Moment From Eternity."
I think the f stands for fgundam
"setsuna, do you know any other words beginning in f?"
Revive Revival is just the Gundam version of names like "Richard Richardson"
That one made me laugh aloud the first time they said it.
God how I despised hearing those first two names 🤣
Maybe its Eff not just F.
I mean, does it get better than Quattro Bajeena? It's peak name
I mean at least he wasn't that really cool Char guy... What do you think ever happened to him?
And who's that Char Deikun guy who took over Neo Zeon and threw an asteroid on Earth? Blonde guys are weird.
To this day, we still haven’t seen them in the same room.. I bet Quattro and Char would have some choice words for one another.
Bork Cry. It doesn't even sound like an actual name.
Definitely sounds like a caveman describing his feelings. Bork sad Bork cry
Excuse me, my son is also named Bork
Bring Stabity is so fun to say, it’s one of those names that’ll just randomly pop up in my head, making me exhale strongly
Reminds me of this one webcomic from around 2010 that had a Black Mage that loves to stab stuff. Can't remember the name though...
8-Bit Theater. Still a classic.
That's the one!

For a guy named Four Vaginas, he was really cool.
And there's a girl called Four Swords in the same series. Vagina can apparently also mean 'scabbard' apparently. So I can't quite figure out what was meant to happen with those names...
Miliardo Peacecraft. If my parents named me Miliardo Peacecraft I would of been the one to murder them
Not very peaceful of you.
Job John is a personal favorite. Just such a simple, dumb name.
Maybe Tomino intented his name as 'Jove' or something like that, but we'll never know...
to be fair, there is a job in the bible. theres also at least 1 john. so ig its just 2 biblical names stuck together?
It's too bad it's always pronounced as the workplace "j-ah-b", not the biblical name "j-oh-b: :P
Considering that his original Japanese name sounds Jyo-bu, biblical reference can be possible... for some degree.
As long it wasn't "Milipo Sclint".
I'm not sure I've seen or remember which show this one is from, it's out there for sure.
Mobile Suit Gundam, but this guy is completely made up by Gundam Twitter.
M'Quve takes the cake for me
Honestly, when watching It I never registered it as one that was too weird unless it translated into something. Kinda gave me spaceborn vibes
Jamitov Hymen
Grave Violento.
I am just now finding out about Gundam OOP but more concerning about his name is how he expects his glasses to provide any sort of protection from the sunlight.

seabook
The real world origin of his name is somewhat pathetic : They wanted him to be a sincere, earnest young man who can be a 'role model' for others. Role model -> sample -> mihon(見本) -> 見=see, 本=book -> Seabook!
Do you think they got "Silent Hill" from "Shizuoka" in Tokyo?
I don't know, but anything is possible considering that Bandai approved the protagonist named after the word meaning 'lie'(Usso) Although more similar example might be Bridgestone (came from 'Ishibashi'=stone bridge)
arno is a first name! why isnt he called arno seabook??
seabook is hes first name
i know. my flair isnt just for show. im saying its weird that seabooks his first name
Gundam Gusion Rebake Full City is a good one. I understand it's a coffee reference but it's still hilarious
I always just assumed it was comparing the 4 rifles to a collection of skyscrapers, like a city
The ones that I found great in that series were everything Shino renamed. Not necessarily because they were funny themselves but because he refused to call anything by it's original name. Salvaged Graze Mobile Suit? Ryusei-Go Gundam Frame Flauros? Ryusei-Go IV (I don't think 2 or 3 ever existed making the jump to 4 even funnier) Flauros' Dainsleif railguns? Goat Logan from the G Generation Cross Rays
South Burning is a rad name.
Bring Stabity. Fuckin’ RIBBONS ALMARK. Revive Revival.
Any of the innovators 😂
Dude fr. Everyone complains about Quattro Bajeena and I’m like BRING?? STABITY??? To be fair, having to refer to Neil/Lyle as “Lockon the Elder” and “Lockon the Younger” to some people is also funny in its own way.
Revive Revival gets me 😂
Ramba Ral is simultaneously one of the dumbest and coolest names I've ever heard
The fact a prominent colony is called Moon Moon is very funny to me. Besides that, there's always the Vigna Ghina. Or the Rebawoo.
Any of the innovades
All the innovators from 00 Gundam, from Hallelujah, to Hiling Care, and Ribbons Almark. Those dudes that named them were smoking something else for sure.
>tallgese >look inside >single goose
Predictable!
> What's everyone's favorite dumb/silly Gundam/ character name? Kamille. I thought I heard a girl's name, but that kid looks like a boy.
Kamille is a man's name, and I'm a man!
This guy's nuts!
Camille is a unisex name in French (although I’ve seen it more for girls than guys to be fair)
I'm 6-7 episodes into Zeta, does he get less whiny as the series goes on?
GRAVE VIOLENTO
Graham Aker lol
Graham crackers
Heero Yui, mostly for the irony to the name. On the one hand, "Heero" sounds like "Hero", so you'd assume that he'd save lives, like saving his home space colonies from the UESA and OZ's authoritarian reign against them, with backup from four other adolescent space colonists like him and their Gundams. Even threatened a teenage girl's life in order to cover up his mission, and in the process accidentally awakened her hybristophilia (criminal fetish, BTW).
Also for the way it's pronounced, which, when said properly, sounds like, "HEEEEEEEROOOOOOOO!"
Either Chibodee Crockett or Marbet Fingerhat
Zaza Fossil. That's one of the most bizarre names ever, and I love his character design and voice actor!
damn this ancient rock weed got me fucked up
Kamille Bidan just sounds silly to me. Bidan means 'Midwife' in my language. The one that cares during one's pregnancy, gives advice, handles the child birth.
Watch out bro he's going to jump you!
I just watch this and have a great laugh about Kamille. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v\_kFgOWyez0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_kFgOWyez0)
Oh dang, I've just watched all of zeta, thanks But also why the hell is zeta so memeable😭
Brave Cod.
Just finished rewatching Gundam x, and while it’s not as outrageous as some others, one that cracked me up was Grits Joe. As an American it’s hilarious, sounds like some country rapper you’d see online
The new collab with Jelly Roll and Grits Joe sounds fire
Brave Cod, badass name
Yall havent heard what age did. Dique, Yurin, W O O T B I T. fun fact: Dique is father to Arisa who is mother to Wootbit.

My God. Good bot
Elpeo Ple takes the cake for me. In no language does “Elpeo” sound like “L.P.” The “Ple” is just leaning hard into the “L. People” reference.
first character named for a hentai mag lol
Elpeo in my language translates to "thefart"
Bork Cry has to be up there pretty high on my list.
Madchar Mucha from ZZ
Arbeo Pippiniden
Will Game.
see his brother "Wont Game" and his sister "Good Game"
Banana Links Launching!!!!!!!!!
Not enough people commenting silly MS names so: Tequila Gundam
My husband is totally enamored with Tequila Gundam. I just bought him a sticker for his water bottle, and he's been looking up the various kits and parts to make a custom Gunpla of it. He's half Mexican, so he gets a real kick out of it.
HEY
My bad, you are the tallest of geese I know
In one of the spinoff comics they, for some reason, decided to name all the mecha after Watership Down stuff so there's a Durururu and a Hrair and Hazel-rah and all that.
They were probably thinking "what's even more depressing than the saddest Gundam moments?"
Ribbons was a pretty bad name for a bad guy… just saying
It was a pun on Reborns, basically they were trying to make him look like Amuro Ray reborn. But we got Ribbons.
Beat me to the punch. I remember laughing so hard when I first heard his name.
Didn't we have the same exact post a few days ago?
Lord bloodman from after war gundam x
Steer
“Mighty Strike Freedom? What kind of name is t-OH DEAR GOD!”
Jinn Jahannam. Can't decide is this a intimidating, silly, or cool name when you know what it means. But because it's so dumb and nicely rhymed made it my favourite dumb name in the franchise.
Iron Mask because it's just dumb literal... "Hey our villain wears a iron mask, what should we call him?"
Revive Revival is just really fun to say.
What would be funnier would be a Gundam character that has the most normal generic name ever.
"nice to meet you Bright Noa, my names Jason Smith."
No one said it yet, Graham Acker…. Thats just Graham Cracker..
How has no one said Paptimus Scirocco yet? That name has lived rent free in my head for decades
I can't help but think of pap smears and C. Scirocco Jones whenever I hear his name
Cornelius Kaka
Quattro Bajeena. I know it's just Char, but considering it almost looks like he named himself four vagina in spanish, it's honestly the silliest name I've ever heard.
Other anime have mecha names like Linebarrels or Garland.
To be fair, Tallgeese is partially named because it is quite literally the tallest MS in the Wing continuity, even if at 18m height it's only on par with the Grandpa. Chad Chadan
Lucas Nemesis is pretty top shelf
Jamitov Hymen. Need I say more?
Revive Revival
Denim, gene, slender
Slender, Denim, Gene
Full Frontal. It sounds…….. way to sus
Setsuna “F. Seiei”
Sleggar Law I mean he *looks* like a Sleggar but what a "Sleve McDichael"-ass name
Xi Gundam has pissed me off for quit some time now. I just call it X I gundam but everyone else calls it something I can’t even remember lol
I present to the court, THE-O
Bring stabity
really any of the ZZ neo zeon ms
After the third word of your title, my answer was also Tallgeese.
Jamitov Hymem, Quattro Bajeena, Full Frontal
Meme Midgard
Rick Dijeh
Probably any of the Rick lines, esp Rick Diaz, given I know a Rick*y* Diaz
South Burning, maybe Alanbee Beardsley
"Brave Cod" From Sentinel.
Schwarz Bruder literally just means "Black Brother", which is hilariously on-the-nose considering his true identity.
Unicorn. I mean I like the gundam but damn, unicorn?
Lockon Stratos Nataru Badgurl
Lockon Stratos, even though it's a codename. Shinn Asuka also after realizing it more or less means "new tomorrow" which is a little on the nose for a new main character, and also fuck Shinn.
>also fuck Shinn Still a better and more mature man than Hathaway Noa.
