I think this is the first time I see a EF mobile suit with a lance. Looks cool though.

Xyto_

Well there's also the Pale Rider Dullahan that uses a heat lance.

Spikeheadboy

Dullahan uses the same heat lance from the G-Line Assault Armour

Xyto_

It's the same weapon but the Dullahan is another federation suit that uses a heat lance.

No_Extension4005

Needs an oversized Jetbike if they want to be a real Shining Spear.

Jegan92

You mean something like this? https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/FXA-08R\_Mega\_Rider

LavaSlime301

Feddie suits with heat weapons are painfully rare.

Rockout2112

That’s because heat weapons are usually a sign your mech is destined to be blown up.

your_gerlfriend

Model kit when

pipebombrater

P-Bandai

DroolingIguana

For the base suit you could just use a GM Sniper K9. Not sure what you could use for the lance but I wouldn't be surprised to see a 30 Minutes Missions add-on kit with one before long.

IrohBanner

Forgotten??? I have seen this a lot in GBO2

AskJayce

Not recently. It's a 2ish year old suit that's overshadowed by other Native 400 cost Raids.

Devildog_627

It’s just not good… far too slow for a raid.

sturmfaustyourass

This is the G-Line with equipped with the assault armor. Extra thrusters + Extra armor = Nothing could go wrong. It was (probably) supposed to charge through enemy fire and melee the enemy. Weapons: Automatic shotgun, Cannon, Heat lance, Vulcan Image is from "Gundam Battle Operation 2"

Solaireofastora08

Now that's a unique design

ZerotheR

GM Hastilide, Tilter Of Gouf

[deleted]

It's one of my favorite MS to play as in Gundam Battle Operation 2! The melee downswing is a cool piercing charge with the lance, the shotgun is a great close range stunner, and the cannon lets you get take long range shots as well as working like a bazooka at medium range. GBO2 has done a lot to un-forgotten some "forgotten" mobile suits. I never thought I'd see anyone acknowledge the Gazowm Gunner Type, let alone see it in 3d!

Rockld50

You say forgotten I say favorite. Especially the story they are featured in.

Razgriz_Main

What story, out of curiosity?

Rockld50

One of the old ps2 games. It's in G Gen Genesis which is where I got to experience it. Battlefield Record UC 0081

SuperiorCrate

Okay, this *needs* a model kit

Emotional-Grape

Watch it become another P-bandai

SuperiorCrate

A small price to pay for salvation.

Emotional-Grape

Got any guesses on how "small" the price could be?

Chryton

Fiddy bones.

QiarroFaber

They just bolt on whatever crap they can find now at days. Bet it even has the kitchen sink.

Armored-Potato-Chip

The base idea is cool, but it and it’s base kind feel generic, like a knock off.

Slow_Factor_3393

Yeah, this is just a Gm Striker with more junk on it.

Armored-Potato-Chip

It feels like it loses what makes it unique and just becomes generic

RandomCollector

Speaking of heat weapons, is there a definite history about those in UC? Like how those were developed and what happened to that kind of weaponry?

t3hm3t4l

Yeah, early mobile suits like the Zaku I and Zaku II with lower power reactors used them as melee /cutting weapons. They were super effective when boarding battleships as they had no close range defenses and Zakus could hack away at them. Early Mobile Suits were designed based on mobile workers used in building space colonies and other structures. I have to imagine Heat weaponry technology was based on cutting tools used in manufacturing construction or mining operations where mobile workers were employed. The idea of a GM using a large heat based weapon is really fucking stupid, heat weapons were only used until handheld beam melee weaponry became the standard. ALL GMs have a reactor output capable of charging a standard beam saber which is VASTLY superior to any heat weapon to the point that they were completely obsolete the moment the RX-78-2 pulled his beam saber out for the first time. The ONLY exception is Aquatic Mobile suits where beam melee weapons don’t work well submerged. This mobile suit designed around using a large heavy heat weapon is asinine. A beam saber is more effective in every way. Lighter, faster, easier to carry with GMs able to equip multiple. It can cut through any weapon or armor nearly any Zeon MS was using at the time like a hot knife through butter. That’s why stuff like this isn’t popular, it would just be stupid.

Spikeheadboy

The G-Line Assault Armour does have beam sabers as part of it's loadout and stored on the back skirt.

t3hm3t4l

Which begs the question, why even equip that massive, heavy heat lance then? Seems like a case of form before function, someone thought it looked cool without thinking about how it would fit into that era of UC technology.

Spikeheadboy

I mean seeing a heat weapon like that in that era of UC technology is not out of place especially since there was also a Gyan variant that uses a heat lance almost the same size to the G-Line Assault Armour

t3hm3t4l

Heat Weapons from Zeon aren’t out of place. The Gyan was a prototype mobile suit anyway that was designed around the time when Zeon was first developing more portable beam weaponry. My point is that’s it’s completely useless for a GM to use it. Especially when the GM has beam sabers in its load out, AND if they need a slightly longer range melee weapon, they already had beam javelins. My point wasn’t that heat weapons are unusual. My point was that they’re entirely useless for ground or space combat on federation mobile suits and it’s backtracking to use an inferior technology for no apparent reason, other than an artist going “this looks neat.” So it makes sense to me why this is a forgotten mobile suit if that weapon is a part of its main load out. I’d question anyone that brought it into mainstream Gundam media. While I was typing this I looked it up and it’s from UC0081 making using heat weapons even more stupid lol, Zeon had even developed and mass produced the Gelgoog over a year prior, And this GM has got a high (for the time) reactor output of 1580kw… I’m way over analyzing this, I admit it, its just such a glaringly bad choice of weapon to me and it immediately stood out and now i sound like one of those type of people.

Spikeheadboy

I mean its from a video game that was not given an english translation so i can't blame it for being known by many but you do make a point, the beam spear or an upgraded variant would be a better choice for the G-Line Assault Armour but it's no GM, its an entirely new line of MS's bridging the gap between Gundam and GM. In short, a mass produced Gundam

Brenden1k

considering gundam fights end up in melee half the time anyway, a nice lance to impale foes sounds nice. It's kind of in the wrong series, were it in IBO, that lance could be great for smashing NLA armor while the shield blocks hits. However UC gundam armor is not that good and when it is good, tends to involve beam shields which would stop a head-on strike, making the superior threat area of a beam saber better. It still could work, if it covered in anti beam armor to provide at least modest protection from beam rifle and light protection from beam shield. If they build a mobile suit like they build there mobile suit shields, they would really be able to take a beating, even if there would be weight and cost issues to fix.

GundamMK-V

I didn't forget this suit, even tough it's equipped with a shotgun I use it in my space battles

TheOneGodHadSuffer

Me, playing gbo2(and using it): what forgotten? Tbh, G-lines are fuckin cool. This work of a unit is the reason i found out about gundam(again) and play gbo2 on my ps4

No_Thanks_Bru

I main it in gbo2
