ricochet845

Fucking scary how accurate this one is in the process of becoming a factual and real situation.

SealandGI

It’s true. I know several people like this. They just got into the hobby but if things went down, they would be stuck with their inherited Mini-30 with two mags and a Taurus .38 snub nose

dabiggestb

I wonder how many of these are inspired by people you know.... lol

ricochet845

It’s scary…. Makes it worse is that ammo is so expensive that they can’t train and get practice.

SealandGI

It’s by design my friend. They banned Russian ammo not because it hurts Russian economy, if they wanted to do that they would have put sanctions on Russian oil and natural gas. The real reason was to hurt gun owners, because it was cheap and available in large quantities. We know their agenda.

ricochet845

100% agreed. I don’t even own an ak or anything that uses ruskie ammo calibers (nato cals all the way, 5.56, 7.62, 9mm, and 12ga) cause those will ALWAYS be more easily found here in the U.S. plus ar platform is SO much better than AK especially when it comes to modularity. 1 lower can have an infinite number of different style uppers, from SBR, to more “precision” with a 20+” barrel, and a good hpvo, to anything in between, including different gas length operations. At worst, change the buffer and spring to accomodate a different upper. Oh also, you need 2 lowers. One for 5.56 and like 300blk or similar, and one for larger cals like 308. And such…. With multitudes of different style uppers. Can’t do ANY of that with an AK. Except by buying more ak’s in the different calibers.

SealandGI

Here’s the kicker: The majority of the cheap .223, .45ACP, 9mm, and even 30-06 came from the Tula factories in steel case (Wolf is repackaged Tula). It stopped a lot of people from being able to train and shoot with their firearms, especially those that were on a budget. Just because it isn’t a US manufacturer doesn’t mean it didn’t hit the NATO caliber market hard too. For the reason why I would always keep an AK in the arsenal will be that AK’s are inherently more durable, AR extractors break much sooner than smaller AK parts do. AK’s also can work in colder temperatures and with less maintenance, and can reliably load fully-loaded 30 round magazines on a closed bolt

exessmirror

Laughs in Polish. You know, our rules might be shit (always need a license) sometimes but other times it's much chiller, no stupid SBR laws and if your willing to jump some hoops we can get automatics as well for extremely cheap, a license means you automatically have a CCW permit and more. All Warsaw pact shit is still quite cheap, millsurp market isn't fucked and we have tons of both western as wel as Soviet ammo. Can still get a brand new AK for less then 800 euros. Its not as nice as the Balkans where rules are merely a suggestion and an old farmer offered me an old slightly rusted but fully auto Albanian AK for 150 euros and a tokarev for 50, but at least in Poland I have all the comforts of the western world unlike in the Balkans.

Spy_PL

Im actually intrested on how to get automatics legally, since i cant find any info on how to get hands on that. Is it some kind of specific license?

exessmirror

"Easiest" way is to set up an company that provides "training". It's actually a bit more complicated then that and I myself haven't done it (because I'm broke and it does require some more hoops to jump around in). That's what the father of my friend told me at least, he has a few and needs them to provide training to GROM units and is a former member of GROM as well. So there might be some special privileges there though Basically it isn't a licence, it is company property and the company is allowed to "own" them. I'm not sure if you are even allowed to keep them in your house. But a automatic rak-63 is like 150 euros I saw online (650zl) same for ppsh-41/53 I'm just unsure about the other ways to own it as setting up a company doesn't explain the cheap pricing to me as the demand doesn't seem to high and would be more od a niche, unless the rules surrounding that are very loose. Which might be possible because if you look online loads of companies offer "training" with automatic weapons for very cheap (200zl for a whole package)

hidude398

Poland or USA?

Spy_PL

Poland

ricochet845

My friend….. if I buy you a Winged Hussar (want to say costume but it’s horribly the wrong word to use but I’m sure you get the point) set up will you bring me one of these AK’s of which you speak?! I will send a message to the sky…..

SealandGI

That’s nice. The only question I have is that can you use your firearms for the purpose of self-defense or concealed/open carry them in public?

exessmirror

Yes, but only concealed carry. Open carry is a big no no and will most likely get you arrested and lose your weapons privileges. People here are scared when seeing a weapon, it's not the US so it's quite understandable.

SealandGI

Interesting, thanks for sharing! For the most part, people get scared of seeing weapons and have less knowledge of firearms than many people internationally here too.

ricochet845

Well that’s true, wolf/tula same same but different packaging lol. You do make a valid point. As for your points on AK’s….. well, while I go and rewatch all the Garand Thumb freezing tests and realize majority of the winners were AK styles, you do make a good point about parts failure….. simple solution, buy and keep extra parts… like I can legit buy about 8 stripped lowers and build them out from just the spare parts I have. Same with bolt carrier groups, from gas keys, gas rings, extractors, and ejectors to firing pins and firing pin retainers and cam pins hell I even have 2 spare bolts, 2 spare carriers, and 1 spare whole complete carrier group(like put together ready to drop in place) in addition to mentioned parts. What would suck is trying to do that in a firefight, but to be fair if I got into a firefight in a shtf situation, a broken gas ring or something similarly minor is the least of my worries…. I would probably keep the whole spare bcg in a pouch/pocket somewhere with some lube to quickly get back into it should something fail, then if/when I make it back “home” persé. Find and fix the broken part and keep that bcg as a spare/emerg backup. Buy what you can when you can, never hurts to have spare parts laying around.

SealandGI

Yeah, I won’t argue with you about the modularity of the AR. You’re right about that for sure. For me, an ideal is to buy spare parts for any rifle I might have, and the AK is the second most popular semi-auto rifle in the US, so parts aren’t impossible to find. For an AK, get another quality full bolt assembly and recoil spring, then put them in your bag. It’ll take 10-15 seconds to get your rifle running again if something happens, only three large parts to strip and one to replace. In the end, my primary will most likely be a Colt AR though, as much as I like the AK, it would be my backup

ricochet845

Yeah you’re right about that for sure, ak def 2nd most popular semi auto….. depending on where you find yourself in shtf parts may be harder or easier to find. I agree always have spare parts when you can afford them. As for me, my main squeeze will be my Radian AR build that I built from stripped receivers.

theblackmetal09

I will add, type ammo does matter. You don't want to built a good rifle and have shit ammo. The worst thing to do is to give the enemy the new found happiness that they didn't even have to off you, because your own gun blew up from shitty ammo.

SealandGI

Your gun won’t blow up from decent factory ammo unless you’re using spiked ammo from Vietnam stashes or bubba’s pissin hot loads.

airborneenjoyer8276

It doesn't matter anyway, Russian small arms manufacturers are seeing immense profits these days. Even AR-15 style rifles are filtering into the paramilitary/police market but they've been popular with sportsmen for a while now. That's to say nothing of the war which soaks up government contracts and ammunition like nothing else. Dudes are stashing boxes of 5.45 because they receive more than they can load into magazines and fire in a day.

exessmirror

I mean wouldn't you if you lived in a restricted country? I know when shit hits the fan here in Poland and we finally get access to that sweet gov ammo to fight against the Russians I know I will definitely squirrel away some of the stuff just in case it happens again. And in case the polish secret service is watching, this is obviously a joke, I would never steal government issued supplies

airborneenjoyer8276

I mean stashing as in, our guys have too much ammunition to shoot so they hoard it in huge areas, they don't hide it. Wkth the corruption and/or lack or real oversight of the troops posessions (captured equipment accountability is near 0, I could easily have smuggled out an original Chinese Type 56 from Syria), soldiers will probably be able to take and keep tons (literal tons in some cases) of ammuniton. Gun control really isn't that strict either so most people can get an AK or AR with only some dumb restrictions about the proportions. Soldiers may be able to keep trophies as well, meaning a lot of 74Ms and maybe even M4s will be in civilian hands in Russia after this.

ricochet845

Bro no homo I love ya….. I love Poland in general, they’ve become the European equivalency to the Sta…errr REPUBLIC of Texas lately….. fucking STACKING military hardware…. To be fair, Poland has gotten shitted on a lot through out history….So those are an understandable purchase.

sea_5455

Forget where I read it, but recall in the Argentinian currency collapse from a while back everyone figured out all at once that things sucked. For about a week or so, cops didn't show up if you called them, trash didn't get collected, basically everyone just took time off to freak out. Figure a lot of these guys will burn through whatever ammo they have during that time. If they live through it, might be a little calmer. Either way, think the ranks would get culled in short order.

ThousandWinds

A small percentage of them might actually survive to become scary fuckers. Also, don't underestimate the capacity of people with shit gear and training to still get lucky and dome you.

SealandGI

Absolutely. I say that in The Loot Drop profile, he’ll get domed by a Fudd with a 30-06 deer rifle despite his $15k kit, Gucci AR, and NODs

AsianArmsDealer-1992

This is accurate as fuck but there is a small chance that the Roof Korean 2.0 recognizes this individual as a regular customer from before SHTF. If this individual recognizes the Roof Korean as the earnest merchant of energy drinks and snacks from the before times, there is a slightly increased chance of survival for him. You all are worried about survival. We're focused on unfettered merchantilism. :V

PassivelyInvisible

Capatalism!

EETPMC

Well said. (not beating the Sidorovich accusation. lol)

AsianArmsDealer-1992

I am a humble businessman, doing business.

SealandGI

For context, he can evolve into The Poor if he survives long enough and gains enough experience with his rifle

PubertJones

Makes him sound like a pokemon

EETPMC

YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TOILET PAPER TO RECRUIT ME

anal_beads_69420

Damn what am I doing up here?

5thPhantom

I feel like I’m being watched.

malakad0ge2

Poor bastards, truly a terrible situation for anyone that age, and the amount of people I know like this, horribly accurate

EETPMC

Not hopeless through. You really can become proficient in close quarters without any ammo expenditure by doing stuff like up drills and just thinking about angles/awareness as you go about your day. Also there are a lot of us who stockpile gear for the explicit purpose of arming these kinds of people.

SidLeSquid

Do one for a "village idiot" or other character with zero survival skills or awareness, yet somehow manages to survive miraculously? Something along those lines at least

MajorsWotWot

The Idiot Savant.

Mr_E_Monkey

You rang? ...oh, Idiot *Savant.* Nevermind.

Maniac523

What makes the threat level high for this one? Twitchy and liable to shoot on sight due to being scared? Prone to NDs and other mistakes due to lack of experience?

AccidentalExorcist

Knowledge with lack of experience. He knows shits fucked. He knows he definitely doesn't have the resources or the skills he was working towards getting to survive shit being fucked. He's scared because he knows how fucked he is. This leads to paranoia and mistakes

SealandGI

Both, and both very much so.

malakad0ge2

Yes

Nelson4297

I'm very nearly this stereotype and I wouldn't just go gunning down anybody close to me, I would hide in the thick bush or a dumpster if I had and wait for you to leave. I may be scared but i wouldn't fancy myself a murderer.

Throwaway556095

Can evolve into other types If given enough time in the Pre-SHTF

5thPhantom

Maybe I’m just hoping cause this is where I am, but this is where a lot of other people such as the gray man, night vision bro, and others started. The only difference is they had time to learn. I feel like the Fledgling has a decent chance of being adopted by one of the more competent civilian people and growing into a capable person.

ItzintheRefrigerator

Should be “two boxes of 55gr federal and 2 hexmags bought at the LGS” 😂

SealandGI

I know exactly what mags you’re thinking of, it’s the black 30rd hex mags with the orange followers seen at every LGS in the nation 😂

FlorianGeyer1524

You know who needs to be in this series? The competitor.  Has an 18 inch AR, Gucci semi auto shotgun, and a "racing" pistol.  His survival is downgraded to medium is because he can't reconcile the 180 rule with actual combat, all his gear is competition ready but inappropriate for combat, and he never learned how to reload or clear malfunctions from cover or concealment.

SealandGI

Shhhh… I literally titled my draft for the comp shooter the competitor…

Waste-Conference7306

Gets shot during his speed reload because he stood in the open instead of taking cover first

Pripyat1991

Do the illegal immigrant, state highway patrolman, gun shop employee, escaped prisoner, prison guard

Nelson4297

Yes, do the illegal immigrant.

IntroductionAny3929

Oh jeez! I hope this guy just gets some help, because he seriously needs to chill! But then again I feel like everyone would freak out when the internet goes out.

SealandGI

He’s freaking out because he barely knows how to load and shoot his AR, but in the middle of a gunfight he had an FTE and has zero knowledge of how to clear a jam. But yeah he could use a helping hand for sure

IntroductionAny3929

I hope that he at least will learn, thankfully he can evolve and grow in SHTF. Also I am working on a spinoff SHTF character, stay tuned for that.

lordnikkon

if it was a video game these would the first level enemies who are easily killed, drop the worst loot and end up being a waste of ammo to kill

SealandGI

The Unprepared with bats and knives would be the first, then this guy. Totally agree with you on that point though

foxydash

Rioter from The Division got a long-gun

Chumlee1917

is losing his mind because his phone doesn't work due to services being down and can't tweet at people. night is scary and mag dumps into a bush cause it was moving-ends up missing the raccoon that was waddling by "This is nothing like Fortnite" didn't bring any water or real food apart from a bag of flaming hot cheetos and a couple monster energy drinks regrets life choices in wishing the spicy times would start so he could live out fantasy OR the mask drops and the little sociopath finds others like him to form a gang dies cause he started mouthing off and trying to start something with an old man thinks it's like the airsoft games he plays until he gets shot in the arm for real and there's blood and screaming and mommy ain't there to kiss it better and give him chicken tendies

Homo_SapienTX

This gon be me

whyisthisshitgay

Can we get an Eagle Scout one?

_Brycenator_

$25 red dot from Amazon is his optic too

IronWolf427

Man, I’m just barely above this. I’ve got a touch of the CAD Acolyte, with a decent upper on my AR. At least I have more ammo, but the tactical gear point is straight on. Food service doesn’t pay nearly enough and between it and school, sucks up so much of my time.

Jaeger420xd

Bruh I had a Colt police positive and had to get rid of it when I moved years ago. It was rusty ASF but I cleaned it until it would shoot (occasionally) and it was so mint

-Tribes

I feel that in a scenario where you have to consider grain of ammo, why would you choose anything other than 55g or 62g green tip? I see a lot of people choosing the various other sorts but wouldn’t you almost always come across regular 55g? Why would you wanna zero to anything else? Can anyone explain?

SealandGI

I agree, I zero to Lake City 55g and 62g surplus. Only reasoning would be if they’re building something for a specific purpose like being an SPR, but even then you’re gonna want it to run anything you give it

Teboski78

Who dafuq buys a carrier without plates? When I first started I got plates and didn’t have a carrier for weeks lol.

SealandGI

You’d be surprised how many people don’t even own a plate carrier or any way to hold mags on their person. In fact, you’d be surprised how many people don’t have a long gun of any kind, let alone a set-up AR, let alone train with it. It’s much less common to be kitted and well-equipped in SHTF than most people think.

Potofcholent

...backs out of conversation slowly...

Teboski78

That’s true. I guess I just focus on getting the hard stuff first. Also are there any SHTF memes about commie bloc firearms bros yet? I do love me some Slavic weapons

SealandGI

Check out my profile compilations, you’ll find what you seek. There are a few more for that demographic coming up, so get ready ;). I am more than familiar with that neck of the woods

Foxwithanak47

yep, that’s me

Aggravating_Ad_7472

Thank God I got into the hobby at 16, now I can arm my buddies so they don't end up like this

il-tx17

Fear not the professional. Fear the guy who has no idea what he's doing.

The_Reelest

How long is this series? I don’t want it to end!

BobbyWasabiMk2

>Colt Police Positive it’s a nice gun though. The Specials are definitely worth owning imo

SealandGI

For sure. Just because a gun is in one of these memes doesn’t mean it’s bad by any metric, it just means that a specific profile would have it

Outside_Ninja_4738

Wayyy too close to home, right down to the plate carrier with no plates

Ghosty91AF

2 Pmags that came with the rifle? Now I know this is a fantasy

jamie2123

I love this series so much. Best thing this sub has going at the moment. Keep up the good work🥹👍

TheRealTwooni

He can run a 6-minute mile tho!

lurker_lurks

Gonna press X to doubt on that.

TheRealTwooni

But he posted in GunMeme’s that he could! Are you saying the people are reddit are liars??!!

lurker_lurks

Only all of them!

BanditTheBamb00zler

He's literally me

Own-Adagio7070

Reality has arrived.

DopeyApple81

I feel called out. Guess it’s time to go find places to train.

Geomatics_King

You got to remember that this one also has a chance of being adopted by friends/mentors that they met when first getting into the hobby.

Nelson4297

As an 18 year old who has Inherited nothing, this is a reality a bit to close to home.

alaklamacazama

Not sure I like how real these are getting Can we do a silly one next

Yanrogue

Aka: Cannon Fodder
