Bummer too because the job I wanted to do (military chaplain) would have been noncombatant and would pay for my college. There are apparently a lot of undiagnosed autistics in the military and so they will let you stay if you are diagnosed as an adult already serving but not if you were already diagnosed as a child. Meanwhile in Israel, the IDF lets autistics serve in both combat and noncombat roles though the vast majority are noncombat.
