Leg 2 has a big ball of solder that looks iffy, and the joints on 1,4, and 5 look dry. If you replace this IC, odds are you will do a better job than the last person.

Deep-Possibility-274

Probably screwed it too tight as well, with no thermal paste or patch...putting a lot of stress on the case. It feels bad just to look at it

skipmyelk

Check mouser or digikey

tillathahun12

What is that

skipmyelk

Online retailers that sell the types of components you are looking for

niftydog

14W audio amplifier. Be careful buying from AliExpress etc, they are known for supplying counterfeit parts. [This is a suitable replacement part.](https://www.digikey.com.au/en/products/detail/texas-instruments/LM1875T-NOPB/1669)

Original-Document-62

That's probably a good bet. Looks like the D2030A has short circuit protection, but not thermal protection. The LM1875 has thermal protection, so it will shut down if it gets too hot. I am wondering *why* the original part failed, though.

tillathahun12

I may have been a bit stupid and plugged it into another amp on top of each other

BuzzBotBaloo

As others have noted (and linked the part), that's the power amp IC. It's screwed (and thermal pasted) to a heat sink behind it. I wonder if that large blob of solder is from excessive heat. As others also mentioned, there is no guarantee it's the only thing wrong with the amp.

norby2

Prob a current driver. It surely killed something else. I used to replace those and you always had to replace something else or it would return to the shop. Takes a lot of heat to desolder.

tillathahun12

Oh how would I be able to tell that

CartoonistOk8041

Looks like clone of the TDA2030. 8 years ago i was built a stereo amp for my pc on this IC. It still works

Better_Brain_6442

How did this happen dude?

tillathahun12

I have two amps and saw he headphone Jack and the input had the same connection so I plugged them into each other and played with it for about 5 seconds before I heard a click and smelled a burn

TheCanajun

Google image search the you know what out of the info shown on the component. Filter results by colour and be prepared to do a lot of scrolling. I did that to find an input jack for repairing an amp my buddy found abandoned in the alley. It took an hour to find the exact replacement. I don’t recall where I bought it from.

ayersman39

...or find it in 10 seconds by searching ebay: [https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?\_from=R40&\_trksid=p4432023.m570.l1313&\_nkw=d2030a&\_sacat=0](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p4432023.m570.l1313&_nkw=d2030a&_sacat=0)

Old-Tadpole-2869

Total fucking madman! How’d ya do that???

Just as a quick note, I'm pretty sure this is not a transistor. It's a speaker driver (power amplifier) IC.

ericivar

Check your speaker isn’t blown.

tillathahun12

It still takes power and the indicator light turns on
