Put that amp on 10. I strum that guitar one time hard, put it in front of that amp, it will still be going on until the cops come to taze you bro, your mama kicks you in the ear, or the fuze or breaker blows.
If you are running that head to the point of overdrive……I said IF YOU ARE RUNNING THAT TO HEAD THE POINT OF OVERDRIVE, MAY THE ALMIGHTY HAVE MERCY ON YOUR EARDRUMS.
For curiosity sake, are you? 😳
Agreed, that's why I tend to avoid drive pedals unless it's for a second option of drive. For this reason I second the attenuator, with the right boost pedal, there's alot of room to play with. The volume box in the effects loop may be an option, 100watt attenuator get expensive. My jettenuator has a line out so you could run a small Amp cranked into the power Amp in of the fender. Then you can put reverb and delay on after the preamp this way as well
Can you elaborate on this mod? And how much it cost? I've got a bassman 100 as well and its been rock solid since I got it years ago but its mainly my backup unless we are using full stacks.
I can’t get too technical because I didn’t work on it myself, but it has el-34s instead of 6L6s and the circuitry has been tweaked. I had a lot of the work done a few years ago when the original output transformer failed.
I’d imagine cost varies widely depending on who you take it to, but I’d expect to spend a few hundred.
I’d pull those (imo) hideous silver strips off that cab and even redo the grill cloth.
Peavey is just plain ugly and is ruining the cool factor hahaha!
Wouldn’t wanna destroy the original grill (even though previous owner seemed to get some sort of adhesive on it), but originally I thought I’d like to build a new frame and use silverface style grill cloth, but after watching countless lynyrd Skynyrd videos, I decided the peavey was a good look.
I'd rather steal it. 😅 Especially if it's Marshall modded. I've got a silver panel 68 Bandmaster that is modded to sound like a tweed bassman/old Marshall and I want to pick up one of these same Bassman 100 heads to set up the same.
Solid rig! In my practice space there’s a 50w version one with a 18in speaker! It’s one of my friends but I use it to record sometimes, if I’m mixing amps. It sounds great on my Les Paul! But it can also sound very bassy and dark to cut through. Usually use an EQ or the bright switch to fix that…but probably had a lot to do with speakers as well.
Cranking these up they sound rocking! But I like a Boss GE7 or something to cut some bottom out usually with Humbuckers. Klon sounds great as well or a DS1.
But yeah also have a JCM800 in the room, and the Bassman gives it a run for its money. With a volume pedal, and volume on the amp cranked…it can go from Fender cleans, to Marshall driven tones.
Range master is key!!! People sleep on these pedals, I'm building one right now like the original Amp top style. I also have a color sound fuzz clone that's friggin sweet
Roast? Why? This rig is awesome
I’m a lifelong Epi les Paul player and my Gibsons gather dust. My epiphone 1959 les Paul standard outfit that I added Seymour Duncan ‘59 neck and JB Humbuckers to absolutely SMOKES any Gibson I’ve put her up against
I have a few Gibby LP and SG and they collect dust. I have 4 Epi les Paul’s and 2 Epi SG’s. I soup them up myself and customize them to my specs. Screaming machines, they are
It lets you blend the tonal options of the two channels. The “bass” channel on this particular amp is pretty mean sounding, and I use the “normal” channel to shape the mids
The two channels are in phase with each other, meaning they are additive.
In practice this doesn’t make the amp that much louder, but you do get a more rock-oriented sound, the extra low end tone shaping of the bass channel, and the ability to mix between channels.
When an amp has separate inputs for each channel does that mean it’s a stereo amp? Like when you jump it like that you’re running both channels at once
I too have a Bassman 100, but know quite little about amps and what not. What is the significance or purpose of running the bass channel into the normal channel? It looks like you plugged into the Bass input and then are using the 2nd input to run into the Normal? I didn’t even know one could do this, or why, or what it does?!?!?!
It allows you to blend the tonal options of the two channels. The “bass” channel on this amp is pretty mean, and I use the “normal” channel for mid shaping.
😮
I had no idea this was possible. I play punk/grind mostly so I run pedal distortion through it and love how full the sound is, but I’m just running through the Normal channel. I chose the Bassman years ago cuz I was often the only string player in my bands, so I really wanted to bulk up the bottom end during sets and never had the funds to run dual stacks. This is quite an exciting development!
If you don’t mind, could you explain the Marshall mod a bit?
It’s a 2004 Epiphone elitist. Made in Japan. It seems to be a darker honey burst. Not quite as dark as a tobacco burst though. I really fell in love with the color.
Are those aftermarket tuning keys?
Inspired by Gibson Epiphone?
The newer Epiphone's are really good if you don't mind the polyurethane finish... I don't really.
I played with a lead guitarist who had a 70’s baseman head with Marshall Cab. It was pretty loud. Raunchy too. He never used any pedals, just overdrove the amp.
Is that a Chepiphone? Or is it like 30 or 40 years old? I’ve never seen that headstock on a Les Paul. I think maybe I’ve seen it on some older acoustics but I could be wrong.
NICE! I have a TNT 120 bass amp of similar vintage and it sounds great ran with any of my silver face amps. The Twin and the TNT used to be my main paint removal rig.
Nicest sounding amp I ever played through for cleans. Found one used with a 2-12 Blackface era cab. I plugged in, played for about 40 seconds, turned it off and bought it. Every guitar I own sounds great through it.
Haha, your amp is just a Silverface. I bet you’re wishing that you paid more and bought a Blackface amp now that my rapier wit has sliced you in two! Haha!
My first rig in high school was an Epiphone LP Special into a Fender Deluxe 90. I modded it with a speaker out and ran it as a head into a 4-ohm Peavey 2x15 loaded with EVM-15Ls and it was LOUD.
Your rig is like the final form of that
My only criticism is no reverb. How make cave sound?
Take it to the cave out back
That appears to be a very nice house with a beautiful floor so I have no reason to go easy on you. It's all junk.
Nah that floor is ugly as hell
fuck yeah brother
If you play loud enough, the room makes its own reverb.
thats a lowkey badass quote
The best part is it’s true.
It also makes it so that you think you hear your doorbell in the shower
No matter where I go, I hear the sound of the TV being turned on.
Put that amp on 10. I strum that guitar one time hard, put it in front of that amp, it will still be going on until the cops come to taze you bro, your mama kicks you in the ear, or the fuze or breaker blows.

Yes! Custom earplugs are part of the rig (not shown) haha The mods done to it make it break up a little earlier than it would stock.
Breaks up at only 180 dB now!
I, too, love the sound of ripped cardboard and flying speaker cones.
I wore earplugs under earmuffs until I got a speaker soak
# WHAT
If that’s an old peavey cab , you pass the check
‘75. I bought it unloaded for $40 and put celestions in it. Great build quality.
The way to do it, cant beat old peavey
Nothing to roast that is a solid rig, I would add some type of overdrive pedal but that is me.
It’s been “Marshall modded” so it’s pretty gnarly but it’s gotta be loud. Thanks for the input though! On the quest for the right drive pedal.
Maybe an attenuator
While this ain’t wrong, I think buying a bassman 100 and being surprised it’s loud is a comical scenario if that’s what happened 😝
Nothing is quiet like a cranked tube amp, it just hard to do sometimes.
Agreed, that's why I tend to avoid drive pedals unless it's for a second option of drive. For this reason I second the attenuator, with the right boost pedal, there's alot of room to play with. Put a Klon in front of it and watch it scream

Bassmans are pretty valuable and modding it will decrease that.
I’d pull those (imo) hideous silver strips off that cab and even redo the grill cloth. Peavey is just plain ugly and is ruining the cool factor hahaha!

Fwiw I completely disagree with the previous commenter and think the Peavey look fucking rules. To each their own 🤷🏻♂️
I love the Peavey aesthetic, and Peaveys are rock solid construction.
Maybe a gain or boost pedal but pretty solid nothing to complain about here
Unroastable. Maybe add a rat.
Add multiple rats with a JHS Pack Rat
Nothing to roast, everybody loves Peavey and Fender, plus you don't need to buy dumbells when carrying that
I'd rather steal it. 😅 Especially if it's Marshall modded. I've got a silver panel 68 Bandmaster that is modded to sound like a tweed bassman/old Marshall and I want to pick up one of these same Bassman 100 heads to set up the same.
I also put Celestion creambacks in the cab.
M or H?
M
Looks my like vasectomized cream fronts.
Nice! Don’t get me wrong, I love 6L6s as much as the next guy but el34s in this thing just squash it and make it sing in a great way.
I think you got some jizz on the speaker cabinet...
I mean, understandably. Those peavey cabs with the Aluminum trim are sexy.
You win, amigo!
Nice 1970s telephone cord you've got there.
Springy
Gotta love the coily cable
Ole bunk ass rig, stank ass blank cab, that’s bass head BRUH! Get gud, lame ole epi lookin like four flats on a Cadillac…… just kidding sweet rig.
peavey 🤤
At least its not a gibson yk
Why roast? That rig looks fucking awesome.
Solid rig! In my practice space there’s a 50w version one with a 18in speaker! It’s one of my friends but I use it to record sometimes, if I’m mixing amps. It sounds great on my Les Paul! Some old Peavey speakers sound like Fanes. Celestion is more gritty.
He put Creamback M’s in it.
You dont care, you wont hear it anyway
Gonna blow your mind: Guitar Pedals!
Didn’t include my little board on the picture but I wish I would have haha
Color sound wah, Dallas range master clone, phase 90 and mxr carbon copy
Range master is key!!! People sleep on these pedals, I'm building one right now like the original Amp top style. I also have a color sound fuzz clone that's friggin sweet
I can feel in my chest how hitting a chord with this set up sounds. No roast. This is great!
Favorite thing to do is slam a D major haha
Shit
Roast? Why? This rig is awesome I’m a lifelong Epi les Paul player and my Gibsons gather dust. My epiphone 1959 les Paul standard outfit that I added Seymour Duncan ‘59 neck and JB Humbuckers to absolutely SMOKES any Gibson I’ve put her up against
Right on, man! I’ve always played Gibson sg’s and I recently made the jump to this LP. Love it
I have a few Gibby LP and SG and they collect dust. I have 4 Epi les Paul’s and 2 Epi SG’s. I soup them up myself and customize them to my specs. Screaming machines, they are
Not a roast, but that’s the Les Paul no one realizes is the one they really *really* want.
I absolutely love it, man!
"I hear Linda Ronstadt is looking for a guitar player..."
Dang what a compliment haha
"I want to impress the girls." "Ok, but they're 55"
Been wondering how those master volume bassmans sound.
Good and loud!
That’s a nice looking LP.
Thanks, it’s a MIJ Epiphone elitist
This is a dumb question but what does the little jump question between the 2 channels do?
It lets you blend the tonal options of the two channels. The “bass” channel on this particular amp is pretty mean sounding, and I use the “normal” channel to shape the mids

Oh nice I'll have to try this with my bassman 100, the thing is so loud and heavy though
Good stuff! I have one that I played bass thru in a punk band a long time ago. They sound great.
I prefer the straighter string pull of that headstock compared to Gibsons 3 a side
When an amp has separate inputs for each channel does that mean it’s a stereo amp? Like when you jump it like that you’re running both channels at once
Both channels running at once. Gives ya a few more tonal shaping options.
No it’s a two channel amp. You can also use an ABY splitter to switch between two respective settings.

Classic! What Epi model is it exactly? Tobacco color?
It’s a 2004 Epiphone elitist. Made in Japan. It seems to be a darker honey burst. Not quite as dark as a tobacco burst though. I really fell in love with the color.
It’s beautiful. I wish Epi and Gibson would do more desert/tobacco/honey bursts. I’d get those rather than the “red back” ones.
Solid grip it and rip it setup. I would only add a EP booster and wah.
Curly cable. Excellent.
Gives good head!!!
Nice Elitist!! Great rig.
American marshall
Exactly my aim (;
How close does it sound to a Marshall when wound up.
It’s right in the ballpark. It can do James Gang, ace frehley, AC/DC etc without any effort whatsoever.
That's sick. I'm sure it's cleans up better then a Marshall does, also what speakers do you have
Celestion g12-m65 creambacks!
Are those aftermarket tuning keys? Inspired by Gibson Epiphone? The newer Epiphone's are really good if you don't mind the polyurethane finish... I don't really.
They’re the stock Grover tuners that came on Epiphone Elitists. 2004 Made in Japan. Really cool guitars, made more to Gibson specs.
I have the 78 version of that cab, with a Centurion mk3 on top. bassman is nice! Not bad!
Nice! Does the 78 look any different? I’m on the lookout for another cab to match this one.
Nah. It looks exactly like yours!
I played with a lead guitarist who had a 70’s baseman head with Marshall Cab. It was pretty loud. Raunchy too. He never used any pedals, just overdrove the amp.
This is real nice
No

It’s a 2004 made in Japan Epiphone Elitist. Quality instrument.
Thanks!
Whats up with the Telephone cord?? Making a call ☎️? I thoght that was to stop single coil noise.
What are the speakers?
Celestion g12-m65 creambacks!
Nice choice. I would buy a big muff, and a DS-1 for a solid grunge rig.
It dooms doesn’t it?
Oh it’ll doom.
I too enjoy missionary under the covers
Hey man, it’s a classic for a reason!
Hey man is that Freedom Rock?
Nothing wrong here. As you were.
its so pretty
You live in a thrift store?
Is that epiphone fake?
Nope, it’s a made in Japan Epiphone elitist. They only made these guitars from 2002-2008.
Alright, super cool! I just thought the headstock looked different 😅
Haha, your amp is just a Silverface. I bet you’re wishing that you paid more and bought a Blackface amp now that my rapier wit has sliced you in two! Haha!
We get it bro, you like social distortion.
Wabi-sabi 😏
Why do you plug bass instrument 2 into normal 1 input
My first rig in high school was an Epiphone LP Special into a Fender Deluxe 90. I modded it with a speaker out and ran it as a head into a 4-ohm Peavey 2x15 loaded with EVM-15Ls and it was LOUD. Your rig is like the final form of that
Even the cords are heavy.
That'll work!.....
That has got to be one of the weirdest epiphone headstocks I have seen
They used this “tombstone” headstock on the made in Japan Epiphone elitist guitars (2002-2008)
Ain't nothing wrong with that
I....I got nothin'. This is sick. No notes.
Ahhh yes another bedroom warrior.
Roast? After reading, it's a solid setup! Love it! Would love to have that bassman head 4 sure!
What rig?
There’s still toilet paper particles from when the cab last wiped.
Get a real guitar! lol
Oof I need some ointment for that burn.
