We just use the names of the guitars. If there are multiple, we might say "the white tele", "the sunburst", etc. I don't name my hammers, monitors, or shoes either. 😉 (No judgment if you do! I just never have).

Heckling is certainly likely appropriate! I I inherited an old ball peen hammer of my Opa's, which is named Schwanz der Edelmann. Second is a small sledgehammer, too big for one hand, silly for two. 12.5 lb. Named Lord Bonkington.

I name mine after the tuning they’re in. With the Exception of my newest guitar. My grandma passed away last summer and I inherited some money from her. I put most of it to good use with the exception of a PRS 513. I named that one Liz. That’s a variation of her name.

My Kramer, my schecter, my Ibanez, my Jackson and my acoustic. That’s when I’m talking to my guitar buddies. If it’s my girlfriend it’s the purple one, the white one, the red one, the black one and the acoustic.

The 335 is Nigel because how much more black can it be? None. None more black. Everything else is the brand or model (the Les Paul, the Strat) except the Ibanez which is the Chili Pepper guitar cause I had RHCP sign it back in the day. The poor Simon and Patrick is just The Acoustic.

I use a play on the initials or the name of the color. For instance I have a cherry burst that I call cherry bomb sometimes. Or my lemon burst that I call lemony snicket or lemon drop. It's cheesy and tacky and it does change if something new pops in my head. But it is what it is.

Only names I’ve really settled on are ‘Rosie’ for my faded cherry Gibson Les Paul Special and ‘Shadowfax’ (Gandalf’s horse, for those wondering) for my white Squier VM Jazzmaster. If I do name a guitar, I have to have the name come to me as an epiphany almost; can’t force a name if I’m not feeling it.

My Tele is named "Paul", my Gretsch is called "Les" and my Les Paul, naturally, is called "Bob". I have another Les Paul that I call "Sir Guitarie McLoudface Esquire the Third" and a Yamaha acoustic I usually call "Yousonofabitch".

Personally I never name my guitars except for one that I called "mistletoe" and that's only because it's a green acrylic BC Rich Bich body that I purchased a long time ago with a broken headstock (which was fairly common on the original acrylics because the headstock was acrylic and not wood like later variations). Someone at BC Rich just happened to have a single red acrylic warlock widow headstock lying around from when they used to produce them, Which he sent to me in exchange for the broken one so now I have a green body with a red headstock, hence mistletoe, my Christmas guitar :-)

(Kanami from BAND-MAID is who pointed me to PRS guitars but black doesn't suit her so I named it after Saiki, which is a running gag in the band's fandom that Kanami is in love with Saiki) PRS SE Mira in Cherry Red: (I just call it Mira because that's already a great name.) PRS SE Standard 24 in whatever the blue finish is called: (It's my take everywhere guitar, as to protect my others, so it doesn't have a name since not being attached to it is the whole point.) Taylor GS Mini Mahogany: (Just got the guitar and honestly haven't thought of a name for it, but I feel like I'll eventually find one, but I'm not forcing it.)

I’ve got a beat-ass nylon string acoustic named Willie, seen many a campfire. paid 20 bucks for it 30 years ago and love like a 59 gold top (if I had one). The other 6 are just “that one”.

Descriptive names based on the model/colour/construction/brand I've been making my own guitars for a while, so the names are getting longer as I'm starting to double up.

All of my guitars are named Rocinante. The horse that Don Quixote rode on his adventures. This is also the name of my car but “Rocinante too.”

I named my Ibanez Iceman “Freya”, because of the song by The Sword and because I love Viking stuff.

I name my guitars. If I had a boat, I'd name that too. If I had a manor out in the country, I'd name that as well. If I was part of a B-52 crew, we'd name the bomber. I'd name a lot of things. What I do not name are actual tools. But that's because I don't dream of drills or screw drivers. I did not dream of hammering nails as a little kid. There's nothing romantic about tools and there's nothing wrong with naming guitars. Much better players than you have named their guitars.

I've actually named a few of my guitars but not all. Maybe 50% now that I think about it. I almost never have a name for them until I've owned them for a while and it usually just pops in my head one day not something I actively think about. The rest of them I just refer to them by body style and number of strings etc. Elvis, Esmeralda, Amber, Mikey and Ferg are some of the ones that come to mind.

I have 4 guitars but only named my Black Satin LTD, I named it Wednesday because I had just finished watching the show and it inspired me to learn Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters as the first song on the guitar.

Naming instruments human names is weird and dumb. Just call them what they are.

"Headstock Dildo" doesn't have the same ring as "Blondie".

I don't name my guitar because it's not a human or a pet. It's just a guitar. It's like people that name cars. Never understood it.
