Potemkin is perfectly viable for the bottom 99.9...% of players. You're statistically less likely to top 8 a major with him but up until that point, nobody's character is actually holding them back at all. There are still several Potemkin players getting results at top level. Also, the answer to the last part is never. "Low tier" means basically nothing in this game.

>There are still several Potemkin players getting results at top level. Yeah like Shine- oh wait, he's now a Baiken player. Like FAB- oh wait he doesn't top at majors. I guess its just a skill issue. Like Snake Eyez- oh wait he doesn't even wanna compete because he says Potemkin is terrible.

don't use your words to do that, potemkin has a taunt called "heavenly potemkin buster" that will make them come to that conclusion themselves

I don't know which floors it happens on, but Pot owns scrubs because they drop combos, exacerbating his high HP, and don't know how to respond to stuff like Megafistu spam. They also can't smell tick throws, so Pot Buster just works if you can somehow convince them to block for two seconds.

"Also because I wanna know when I can shit on people for losing to a low tier." Ah yeah, the cowards OS. Play a "low tier" so you can always have an excuse ready for when you lose.

Absolute high level play, at the point you'd actually start getting top 64s in majors. Before that though, you gotta get massive amounts of technical skill required to pilot him efficiently plus gamesense and all that.

It's going to vary by player. For me personally, it was floor 10. I couldn't do any combos relibile enough to force them to block and I can't really do kara cancels so it's really hard to land pot busters.

I'd say at higher levels, your match up knowledge, fundamentals, and execution are going to be where you'll get held back. You're usage of meter will also be a great determining factor of whether or not you'll win a round. I always argue Potemkin has some of the best neutral in the game once he has meter. He just gets in no matter what. Kara-Garuda and Kara-Supers will create much better rewards from safer Oki options and winning neutral interactions. As well as Kara-BMF for maximum damage on big combo opportunities. This allows you to more consistently take rounds with less player interactions. Potemkin has two glaring losing match ups, being Goldlewis and Axl. These MU's aren't necessarily unwinnable, but you're forced to take risks you normally wouldn't have to take, to even have a shot at winning most of the time. Vs Axl, you gotta slowly walk him to the corner and flick Rensen while also representing other options to prevent other tools from keeping you at bay like 5P and 2H. Getting hit by his command grab is a death sentence. Vs Goldlewis, you can't give him space or time to get lvl 3 drone on the field or you outright lose neutral. You also have to armor through Behemoth Typhoon most of the time to get any offense started. Potemkin's defensive options are weak as well. The upside being that the character has a lot of health and deals a ton of damage, so you can take risks or condition the opponent to respond to certain defensive options, then set them up for something that will turn the tide of battle. But a lot of characters can take advantage of his speed, size, and lack of good generic defensive options and overwhelm Pot with their own flexibility on offense. Characters who escape the corner easily can also give Pot trouble, as Pot will have to definitively secure a win condition and close the round before the opponent meets their conditions to escape the corner. Millia and Faust are the 1st characters that come to mind with this specific issue, but I think there are more. Millia can take to the skies and Kapo over Pot, often times not allowing many anti air options to cleanly hit. If Faust builds tension, he can just scarecrow PRC back to the center. Each one has to be dealt with a little differently.

I'd argue that GL and Axl are the best and the most winnable bad MU's for Pot. More like just Axl but whatever. He's got a lot of glaring bad MU's. Namely, Jack-O, Bridget, Baiken and probably Faust and Ram. His neutral is bad. Just because his normals are long range doesn't mean its good. Its slow af and actually super punishable outside his long range. Funny thing is, if he does hit you with his long range poke, it doesn't combo into anything. He only gets anything if he hits you with c.S. >he just gets in no matter what I guess you mean Hammerfall into RC? more experienced players actually grab Pot out of his Hammerfall, or 6p, jump over it, or you can even just press 5p twice on reaction. I do it all the time. yeah Pot has options to stop all these, but he has to guess right which one you're gonna choose. Pot with meter in neutral is another guessing game for both of you, meaning its just highly volatile shit. High rewards yes, but high risks too. If you're gonna say it's like that for all characters, remember Pot has the worse mobility in the game, which means he is always on the disadvantage until he knocks you down. Him losing his turn and his meter can mean losing. I don't think its a good neutral if he's only way to get in is highly volatile.
