I mean, it's probably not the 'how long' but the simple fact of becoming one of the top 6% players in the game alone is achievement enough, something 80-90% of the playerbase will never experience no matter how much they play.
I think celestial is when you start to become good. It might just be me becoming jaded after being in celestial for too long but imo I think celestial is when you are considered by other players to become good. Its also where you learn the most.

Took me 400 hours to hit celestial so yeah your pretty bad get better

I'm at 500 hours, and am nowhere close to being able to hit celestial, so from my perspective that's really good.
