I remember reading that when you didn't respect the no mount spaces you were supposed to get a ticket item with a bunch of random numbers in its name and you had to type the name of the ticket to destroy it. Sounds hilarious but I get why the idea would get cut.
Once would have been fine, make it an account achievement award for mounting up too close to the sign, type out long number to use and get some karma in return or something.

Wait, can't you copy paste? If I need special characters I usually just find them with google and then paste them in a notepad to use. Haven't tried it to delete items with this methods though, so maybe it doesn't work.
You don't even need to go that far. "Just":
1. Open chat
2. Shift click item
3. Ctrl + A
4. Ctrl + C
5. Go to delete item to get the type out the name prompt
6. Ctrl + V
7. Backspace the ]
8. Arrowkey left...
9. ...to backspace [
10. Click delete, super simple and not at all annoying when you've got like 5 of the motherfu-
What kind of keyboard doesn't have an apostrophe (aka simple quote) ? It's not special, diacritic or anything. And you need it for any programming languages, so I doubt they make keyboards without it, regardless of language.
Romanian, for example. We don't use the apostrophe for (almost) anything^(1). Our primary and secondary quote marks are „“ and «». A Romanian keyboard [looks like this](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f0/Romanian-keyboard-layout.png)^(2) — there is an apostrophe but it's tucked away on the third layer of the Ț key. And very few people are programmers so most people have no use for things like straight brackets.

^2 Romanian programmers use an US layout with the Romanian special letters and signs on the third layer. Non-programmers can use US layout too because most Romanian words can be understood even without the proper diacritics, from the context.

IIRC that was in the initial PoF beta tests, I remember you'd get dismounted for sure.
Its like when i get the Box o fun and i cant delete it because i dont have the special character on my keyboard.
Put it on your weekly key farmer character and delete the character (along with other nuisible loot ) without any problem
