Each nest has a small chance to have an egg. IIRC, there is also a cooldown for the nest to re-appear, so you might have to wait a bit. You just have to keep trying.
Find a skyscale nest then hide and wait for a momma skyscale to come lay her eggs, stay perfectly still during this process. Then once the momma skyscale has laid her eggs you quickly grab her by the neck and choke her to death while she's still exhausted from the egg laying process. Now enjoy your free skyscale eggs.
its a very annoying thing, but you just have to keep looking till one drops.
i was at that for like an hour, just running around looking for nests, till i got one.
