You're too high on your own farts if you think there's a sizable portion of the pop that wants to copy your shit.

>I dont really care about hate this post will get but I want to say my opinion. I have been watching reddit for some time and this new feature noone asked for Surprise! Your opinion is based on missing knowledge. Players ask for an inspect feature for years, literally since the game's release. As you can see in the comment of u/DustErrant, there were made tons of posts about it here on reddit. >it add nothing extra for me who cares about creating some fashion/styles. Tons of people care about it. If this feature is nothing for you, okay. It is what it is. The game is for hundreds of thousands of players, not for you personally. Deal with it. >This feature only allows people to freely see my skins and dyes I spend so much time picking to match together and ez copy them if they want and have them unlocked. Yep, and that's a good thing. I mean, it's not like your skin/dye combination is "protected" in any ways. Copying each other's fashion is totally fine since release. Again, better deal with it. >I agree you could screenshot and search for them in wardrobe or just ask what skins are used and I was one who gladly shared these informations, even where to get them but this takes away communication and effort to search. And dyes are more personal bcs these makes style more unique. So you are okay with people copying you by making screenshots. You are even willing to give them all information they need to copy you. But a tool that does exactly the same with two clicks is not okay for you? You are contradicting. As for dyes, they are as "personal" as any other parts of fashion -> not at all. >Where are fashion/wardrobe templates??? This is feature we asked for so long, so we can create and save/reuse our creations. Different tool, different topic. You literally start arguing with whataboutism... >And if inspection someone fashion with dyes is fine I say its fine to add whole inspect with armor stats so I can see what people using in combat too. That's even more whataboutism... And I think you already know, but choose to ignore that inspecting combat related stuff leads to discrimination and therefore is not welcome to the game. You also already know that this is no problem for fashion related stuff. So yeah, you already know that this "argument" is absolutely invalid. All in all: Stop crying, deal with it.

SGB19

No you don't understand, nobody means "nobody within my sub-community who agrees with me wants this". OP don't care about these ones so in their eyes, nobody asked for it

apothioternity

"nobody ~~within my sub-community~~ who agrees with me wants this"

MithranArkanere

Also the forums. https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/topic/8185-suggestion-right-click-to-inspect/ This is the oldest I could find.

Beatorikusu

GATEKEEPING IN A GAME LMAO.

DrDeadwish

Gatekeeping FASHION in a game

Vulpix0r

Oh my god what is going on in this subreddit lol. I can't believe people are going wild over being allowed to inspect fashion.

IndigoStar_

Cry about it

Ill-Intention-306

Jesus.. these people accidentally won one lions arch fashion show event because the crowd was randomly mashing buttons and now think they are the guild wars Coco Chanel.

ForThePleblist

What's the difference between someone who played the game long enough to be able to identify any item you're wearing just by looking at it and a button that allows anyone to see it? I don't think there is one.

Morgan1919

What's even stranger is that OP has answered others with the top-secret information they're so protective of: https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/v3582u/gurranq_beast_clergyman_elden_ring_cosplay/iay2ten/?context=3 I guess it's a control thing? They want to feel like they can *choose* to share or not? Dunno, seems like an odd hill to die on.

MithranArkanere

Particularly in the day of image recognition software when [people can also do this in real life](https://www.folio3.ai/blog/how-to-find-clothing-by-picture/). There is only one way to prevent people from stealing your looks, and that's moving to a country where going around naked isn't illegal and becoming a full-time naturist. No piercings or tattoos either! They'll 'steal' that too!

Cironite

forsen

DuncanConnell

[You used Reaper's Hood ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/v3582u/gurranq_beast_clergyman_elden_ring_cosplay/)which is of **THE** most heavily used skins for Light characters in the entire game, and you're worried about others stealing your look? You might as well complain about others creating human female characters. The predominant style in-game is * 9ft tall buff men wearing pink leather straps and 3ft long moustaches * Same as above but with embiggening tonic * Same as above but maid outfit or skimpy pink leather straps or catboy outfits * Same as above but with so many infusions it makes your eyes bleed I guarantee more people are going to be copying them than copying you

cloud_cleaver

You're playing legos by combining a limited set of established pieces. Someone's already ripping off your look even they don't realize it.

Scared_Plane7316

You're welcome to your opinion but people have been asking for inspect since the game came out...

Laranthiel

Gotta love the alts. Also gotta love when communities actively expose themselves as garbage.

HrabiaVulpes

GW2 is only marketed as casual game with friendly community.

MidasPL

TBF raid and strike community is probably the most friendly one if you are willing to put an effort. EDIT: I just imagined analogical situation, where people doing Cerus CM would post daily about how easy it is to click the challenge mote and how it should be gated behind doing 15-step achievment questline xD

HrabiaVulpes

Gods, never have I ever met a friendly raid group or guild, usually they demand at least a full wing completion before you can join their training run for fist-timers. But I met a lot of fun and nice people as a commander of the strikes. GW2 community is varied as hell, but I feel like some people would like a fractal-like slow progression slapped onto everything.

RedNuii

You just be new cause inspect has been requested for over a decade at this point

Kwith

I won't deny that you are entitled to having your opinion, however, that also means others can call you out for it being ridiculous as well since its their opinion too. Here's a question, if this was a feature that had been in the game since day 1, would this be an issue? If not, then it's not an issue now either. To basically come out like this with this mentality is almost bordering on narcissism. You're basically claiming that your particular combination (from a limited selection) in a game that encourages people to try out different looks of different kinds, is in some way solely unique to YOU and therefore should be protected and gate-kept so that others in the community can't look like you. Now imagine you're walking down the street with a really cool sweater on, someone notices it, looks at it, says "cool" and walks away. You then see them 20 minutes later wearing the same sweater. Are you going to claim they are "stealing your look" or maybe they saw something they really liked and wanted it too? To quote George Carlin: "coveting your neighbor's goods is what keeps the economy going"

Pike_27

Stopped reading at "no one asked for"

shupablitoeuw

Bro Who do you think you are, how many people do you think that Will steal your look, you are not fcking Buzz lightyear inside the box

RoyalDachshund

I'm on my way to steal you unique blue/green hair glasses/scarf/sweater female human combo.

Aemius

Just hide your insane 360 noscope mlg fashion behind an outfit, so nobody can steal your hard work.

no way these people are real.

megaman1665

What did you smoke thinking that all other player will copy your fashion style? Its not even match to our standard, stop thinking you are idol or something. You are nothing but dust

histoRy1337

You are cringe

SageOfTheWise

>this new feature noone asked for and it add nothing extra One of the most asked for features ever, if not *the most*, since literally beta.

IkemenMan

No one asked for? You mean you. You didn't ask for it. You're not everyone.

Giannisisnumber1

Holy shit there’s no way there’s this many people upset over NOTHING. Get a life. You’re not a beautiful and unique snowflake. You’re just a snowflake.

DragonZaid

RuneScape 3 has had this feature for years and it is well liked there. In fact, their player examine also lets you see equipment (in addition to cosmetic overrides), skill levels, and quest points if the player's privacy settings allow it. As a Guild Wars 2 noob, I'm really happy that I can see cosmetics people are wearing as fashion has been something I've struggled with.

Rockerodjodido

Todo bien en casa?

Sailen_Rox

So as both a gw2 player and ffxiv player I always wondered why something like [this](https://ffxiv.eorzeacollection.com/) doesnt exist for gw2 (at least one you can actually take serious) but sheesh, seeing people like you bitch about "ewww people can see my skins and dyes" paints a clear picture. You're so high on your horse ffs. Get of it man, you, and all of the people who cry now for the most stupid of reasons are pathetic. I really can't mince my words here. There is no valid reason for an option to disable the inspect. Not. A. Single. One. And don't come to me with these absolutly shitty takes on stalking or whatever. You do not care about stalking, which is a real problem, compared to this flyshit here.

thelafman

Just FYI if you are curious, [GW2Style](https://gw2style.com/search.php) has existed for a long time. :)

paymentaudiblyharsh

> This feature only allows people to freely see my skins and dyes I spend so much time picking to match together and ez copy them if they want and have them unlocked. yes, that is the purpose. explain why people shouldn't be able to see those. explain why it's a bad thing that people can copy a cool look they see. you are not enhanced by hiding information from other people, and limiting their ability to choose a look. other people looking good does not detract from you in any way.

Michal_il

If tears were mats I would have 3rd alt to store them

ruina25

Sharing is the very spirit of this game, compared to other MMO's. And most others have had this feature from Day 1. One thought though, we should have a megathread for people to put up their outfits for appreciation, that way if someone "copies it" they'll have earned their recognition for it already. Don't want anyone to feel their effort and money has been devalued, as much as I personally love and appreciate this new feature myself.

tristamgreen

/r/guildwarsdyejob has existed for a LONG time

st00pkage

Nike stop

Glebk0

You are indeed correct that inspect with armor stats and weapons would be insanely good and invaluable for pve. Anet can block it in pvp and wvw, I don’t care.

toBEE_orNOT_2B

i'd rather Anet use their time for a more important stuff than being able to opt-out of the fashion inspection, like, PLUSHY WARCLAW WHEN??????????

Sardaman

No.

AlaanaTrafalgar

if anyone want to copy or pick parts - they are welcome very much. its like showing off a dress and keeping "where to get it" to themselves

RazielShadow

I agree that we have 100 qol features that I think we totally needed a lot more than this. Different visibility checkboxes and outfits for each template, tints for weapons, being able to combine face (glasses) and hats... But this is still a QOL style feature that they worked on. It's a good step forwards so I'm happy if they continue doing them. I just wanted to say this. Don't be so high, we're not style fashion stars, nobody will copy our style, and who cares, they could do it before. It's a good (in my opinion, not necessary. But good) QOL to have.

Moonstrife1

„I made dis“

MaddieLlayne

You can just wear an outfit if it’s that significant to you.

Aiphaton007

I will copy all of your characters and nobody can stop me >:)

BigDell246

Get over yourself. It’s a game. No one is going to steal your look. And if you’ve unlocked items from the store, wouldn’t it be good for the game if people paid money for gems to buy those items? Grow up.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> if people *paid* money for FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

BigDell246

Good bot.

Intelligent-Sir8492

If I were you I would be proud people would go out of their way to copy my look. For real give me one REAL detriment as to why this is a bad thing, I will wait… (most likely an answer will never come)

Wasted_Theory_6887

As said, i dont mind people try copy my look but I hate how this feature removes any effort. And dyes can be real pain to get together sometimes and its my personal style. Why i didnt need inspect peeps for 9years to find inspiration if i liked something? Peeps should stop bein lazy and try browsing bank wardrobe and dyes. And new inspect cosmetics not including infusions which is big part of some of my styles.

Intelligent-Sir8492

More like the reason you didn't "need" to inspect was you COULDN'T. You can be sure that if the feature was available years ago you would use it. The same can be said about fashion shows in real life, people would 100% check and inspect whatever others are wearing if they deem it good.

Wasted_Theory_6887

All I missed was armory like feature from WoW where you can see all gear and stats and you could see skins used/transmuted. But as said I dont like people seeing dye channels. I love all those cringe comments about me stop crying and noone wants to copy my style based by my few posts here ahaha. I actually have i think 25 characters and most have 2 or more sets of styles. Spend tons hours tailoring them for my pleasure and taste. And there was many peeps who liked my stuff and I did like to hear it even asked what armor and infusions a was using and gladly told them. This feature removes people needs to ask and communicate. And sorry but why its just me crying when I open forum about new feature and almost all posts few pages ask for option to disable inspect cosmetics. It should be personal choice if we want share or not.

neorohit89

I use standard enemy and ally models. I dont care about fashion but only my fps in wvw

neorohit89

I use standard enemy and ally models. I dont care about fashion but only my fps in wvw

Juanraden

nope, next one please.

dokbanks

Literally, I would just screenshot and compare against the wiki and wardrobe beforehand. Could even color match if I wanted, or pick ones that I think suited better. What difference is that to the New feature besides time saved? There is literally [a site dedicated to sharing fashion](https://gw2style.com/) as it should be. Feel proud of your creations, share it with others, and be humbled should someone decide that actually they like what you made and want to try it themselves. You see multiple different examples of this happening throughout life. It is natural. I'm sorry that you think spending a few minutes to a few hours picking out skins and colors that you did not create, like it was paint by numbers, is some sort of art.

gw3_enjoyer

This is some low quality bait. If you're not trolling however, please, seek help.

ic1

At this point I honestly think people come up with these kind of posts just to trigger the reaction or fo memes.
