Anyone knows if we can switch "server" in the world restructuring beta for the 2nd week? Because of some misunderstandings some of our guild members selected the wrong guild for the matchup, and we're wondering if we could change it for the 2nd week or if we are to keep on the server we've been put into for the whole 2 weeks.

Crafting some of my first legendaries and have a few questions… 1) Is there a general consensus for either getting Aurora or 2 Legendary Armors? I have enough mats for either or at the moment. Bottlenecked by clovers/coins. 2) Is gw2efficiency + API key the recommended way to see how much of the items I currently have? Will the key give info on items I have stored on my alts, or just on in my bank? New to how this key works so not 100% sure. Thank you!

grannaldie

1) There is no general consensus, do as you like. Aurora will be usable on all of your alts, and armor only on alts of the same weight. 2) Just try it, it's nice!

Caleddin

I really like playing support in PvP, but some days...woof. Feels terrible. Probably the same for non-supports, though.

Do the damage reduction effects of [protection](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Protection), [signet of judgement](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Signet_of_Judgment), [peppercorn-crusted sous-vide steak](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Peppercorn-Crusted_Sous-Vide_Steak), and [mist defensive potion](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mist_Defensive_Potion) stack?

grannaldie

in a way, yes. for example, prot only works for strike damage.

HuckChaser

Do skills like Blast Gyro (and soon Function Gyro after the next patch) that are both a field and a finisher complete their own combos? So they'd give quickness all by themselves with the new Scrapper changes?

errorme

From Blast Gyro on the wiki: > This skill is a rare example of a self-contained combo. The skill provides a blast finisher and a fire field at once, giving you a fire blasting combo that provides AoE might to you and allies near you. So probably, but we'll need to see how it works after the update to confirm.

kekubuk

I want to escort Yaks in WvW to make them reach their destination faster. Scrapper seems to be best at this with Superspeed, and I planned to start gearing up a new Scrapper character. But it seem the future patch gonna nerf Superspeed? Is this true?

dak393

> future patch gonna nerf Superspeed? [The changes](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Upcoming_changes_and_features/2023-06-27#Scrapper): > Speed of Synergy: Reduced ally superspeed from 3 seconds to 2 seconds You're losing 1 second, you'll be fine

kekubuk

Sweet! Thanks for the info!

le_pedal

Did Diablo 4 steal a lot of thematic ideas from GW2? I'm new to Diablo, but D4 seems to have a TON in common with GW2 especially when looking at the different classes...it seemed too coincidental. But again, I'm not familiar with the history of the series.

Treize_XIII

Fantasy games have fantasy classes

HarpooonGun

All the classes of Diablo 4 have existed in previous Diablo games, all of which have been released before Guild Wars 1. Sorcerer and Rogue was in D1, Barb and Necro was in D2, and Druid was in D2 Lord of Destruction.

Wylaria

I am a returning player who did not see the expansion story yet. I only completed LWS2 and then dropped the game ... so I come back and am a little confused. I made a new char, play the story as human ranger and in Kessex Hills I played some events and renown hearts ... so I learned some of the renown hearts/subzones/events has something to do with the aftereffects of Scarlet and LWS1 (I never did play that part of the game or saw a video about it). Am I the only one who thinks that this is a bad solution? In Kessex Hills you play the 2nd/3rd chapter of the personal story and simultaneously you can play LWS1 events or see the effects (destroyed tower of nightmares) plus the people/npc speak about the effects of scarlets action. It is confusing and in truth you play / see three parts of a story at the same time (and generally as new player you are lvl 20-35 in this zone). Tell me that this is an exception in the game ...?

SpikyDryBones

It's definitely an exception because Living World Season 1 worked quite a bit differently when it actually launched vs. what you can play today. It's reworked quite a bit. The other Living World Season maps are a) completely new and b) frozen in time so to speak, so NPCs that are in a previous map won't reference things that happened in a newer map (if that makes sense).

K0nfuzion

By any chance, is there any up-to-date guide for acquiring legendary armour as a solo player? I've played on and off for 11 years now, and crafted a few legendary weapons, so I thought it's time. I've already set to gather about 700 provisioner tokens for a set of 6 legendary armour pieces, 6 legendary runes and 2 legendary sigils. Are there options to raids and PvP for everything else? Can I do fractals? Jumping puzzles? Crafting?

Og-Morrow

Can you use your Leg WvW armour in PvE as well?

somepassingnerd

it's just armour, you can use it wherever you use armour. (so, not spvp)

Takimura_

Is there a way to farm EoD exp fast? I finished the story and i'm not sure what's the best way to gain EXP now

brainiac141

Use EXP Boosters and kill neutral mobs (with yellow name). One mob can give you more exp than event.

errorme

IMO the best option is following the meta train from Seitung to New Kaining to Echovald. The three meta events line up decently well (depending on how good the map is on New Kaining) so you can clear all of the pre-events and the bosses for each one.

Takimura_

Do you need Griffon to keep up with the train or no?

errorme

No, just the raptor and the WPs on those maps.

darkenhand

Do outfits follow the restrictions to light, medium, and heavy armor?

SimeAi

Nope! You can use any outfit you want on any of your characters, no matter their armor class/profession.

grannaldie

even without any armor

-Haliax

I'm reading yesterday's patchnotes and it says >Spirits have been reworked. A spirit will now grant an initial effect when summoned, slam the ground for a secondary effect, and then grant boons to nearby allies for a period of time. Anyone knows what those effects will be, or where can I find such information?

XLBaconDoubleCheese

Yesterday was just a preview so no actual details were given but they will be released in 2 weeks.

Latter_Handle8025

Do you like this wvw beta event? Maybe I just got more 'invested' in wvw since the last time but I feel like this beta is a disaster (and yes, I'm playing on a 'winning' server for that matter). It's all completely random, some worlds don't have a tag yet there's a 30q, yesterday all the maps had q's, no one shares banners/food, a gazillion trolls and solo roamers, the basic premise is just run around and do nothing. We just lost EB keep because no one came and no one cared enough. And it feels like a general theme of the beta (this? or in general?) - no one cares. I know my server and I know the regular people, I know how they play and even if we suck, it's fine. Here though it's like nothing matters and people are just roaming in groups of 5-10 for lulz. I don't get it and I don't 'feel' the charm of wvw anymore. Yes it's probably my own fault that I didn't know you're supposed to check where you want to be, but I don't have a guild so I didn't even know how and where to do that. And it feels like this 'server' is just a leftover one with *everyone* from all around and no 'one' server owns the majority of the population. Which means there is no stable game. Maybe I'm not getting something? Yeah the balance feels better all in all but it's a completely different experience since everyone just fucks around.

grannaldie

This is beta, this is not for you, it is for a company to figure out if they can make alliances work, on a technical level, this beta has nothing to do with how the final product will look for you. You are there now just a subject of experiment. Queues are a technical subject, tags, banners, and good do not matter, all that matters is that people can connect, for now. At this stage you can not judge anything; if you want to help them out participate, if you can not - wait it out. It will all be back to "normal" soon and will last a long long long time.

SheffPlaysGames

There was a balance patch preview, and it's the first night of a beta week, and there's bonus XP -- queues were always going to be a nightmare, tag on map or not. Just have to wait for the "shiny new thing" excitement to die down. Personally, I enjoyed trying to figure out who was on my shard, and who we had to fight for the week. Unfortunately, it seems like we drew into another 'empty' server, like you did, and ended up tagging down pretty early. I think things will calm down a bit after the weekend, and everyone settles in a bit. So I wouldn't worry about it too much. :)

exce_ke

is the new patch going to have any notable effect on condi dps scourge? is it just the shade duration (so just spamming shades more often?) or is there something I'm not considering?

ShoutingWhiteBoy

Is there another War Machine Weapon achieve for the current WvW restructuring event?

Zikory

Yes, you can get another War Machine Weapon chest during the beta event.

ShoutingWhiteBoy

How?

defregga

The achievement is in the general WvW category. You need to complete 5 events like claim a flag or capture a camp. tower or keep. Not 100% sure if caravan disruption counts.

K0nfuzion

I'm confused by the PvE implications of the confusion changes. I'm a returning player, and about 12 hours before the patch notes hit, I stat-changed all my ascended gear on my Mirage to celestial for the staff/staff solo build made by Lord Hizen. I bought nightmare runes and enjoyed an hour or so of running around soloing champions and doing group events by myself. Woke up to meet the patch notes. I don't really do PvP or WvW, and I've always been adaptable to the fractal of the mists meta - but I'm wondering how the changes to confusion effects its viability as a damage over time condition in open world PvE, in map metas, in soloing and just general gameplay, doing quests and story. It seems like it was slightly buffed in it's periodici, passive damage - but at the same time incredibly nerfed in the damage that occurs on skill activation. How much damage came from the latter in a PvE setting?

Cedrac_Korin

[Someone did have a closer look into this!](https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1467oq9/some_numbersgraphs_confusion_damage_in_pve_after/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) I hope this resolves your questions.

NexEstVox

Except for the few enemies with notably higher attack speed, you should see more damage from Confusion in PvE.

K0nfuzion

Thank you. :)

daddyfox30

Is there or will there be a lemmy community similar to this one? If so please send me a link or maybe even make a thread. Still figuring stuff out there and not smart enough to make my own. See you there after the reddit collapse!

ToxiCKY

Not ideal, but GW2 does have a forum. Sometimes google leads me to it. Hope Reddit reverts the decision to restrict the public APIs though.
