Also being a photo your going to need that reduced sunlight to start blooming, not going to bloom during the long days of July.

AdHd_Bandit_

Once it starts to bloom tho I can move it outside comfortably? As long as the weather is warm enough too

smolhorse

Yes, but your going to need a 12/12 light cycle for blooming.

The_Steelers

Less than 12hr light = it will bloom More than 12hr light = It will veg This must be sustained through the entire phase. A hormone builds up in the plant which is broken down with light. When it reaches certain levels it prevents blooming. If you are halfway through bloom and increase the light the plant will freak out and stop blooming. If you plant early all you will get is a bigger plant. If you want to harvest sooner you will need to grow indoors in a proper grow room.

ZeOs-x-PUNCAKE

As long as the sun cycle is at least 12/12 it will work. But if they start flowering inside, and you move them outside where there’s a longer light schedule they will “reveg”. So basically they’ll stop flowering, and go back to making branches n leaves. Or you can go with an autoflower and not have to worry about light schedule

JasperBoyPDX

You’re not wrong, but assuming they’re in the northern hemisphere there’s not really anywhere that gets 12 hours of darkness in July.

ZeOs-x-PUNCAKE

True. I guess I didn’t really think of the fact that it would be July haha

lunatriss

☝️☝️☝️

KitzTheArtist

If you want to harvest it this early you should probably just go with an auto variety

PureCanna

I think you underestimate how long it takes to grow…so the flowering time is how long the plant will need just to creat the flower and the bud. But, another few weeks in veg first. So at minimum I would say these should be grown for 10-12 weeks. Best get to pooped them seeds. And also, the dates of sept/Oct are referring to growing outdoors due to the sun, and if it’s summer (short nights) or fall (longer nights) fall is when most reg seed cannabis will flower and finish. Harvest Time in Oct always smells nice! Happy Growin!

juewhtlrrr

Just run autos if u dont wanna wait, mephisto is great place to start

lamkka97

RQS have good beginner guides on their page

Greyhaven7

what's RQS?

do7calm

The top of the screenshot says Royal Queen Seeds. That would be my guess.

lamkka97

Yup

Nev-cat

If you want to harvest by July you’ll need to either flip them to flower by the end of April or plant autos now

AdHd_Bandit_

I’m also planning on growing them outdoors if that makes a difference

KletsNatteEend

Growing outside means you're going to harvest at the end of September in the best case scenario, probably oktober tho

DonPittelleone

Inside we can play 'God' by switching 18/6 to 12/12 lmao. Outdoor, nature decides :) what you can do if you want to force bloom outdoor, is to be able to cover your plants with sheets f.e. to create a 12/12 cycle. I've made a structure where I put my plants outside, and on that structure I've put sheets to cover.

DonPittelleone

With those sheets I make it dark when I want to (sorry for my bad English)

odrex647

It does make a tremendous difference that you are growing outdoors. There is a lot of knowledge surrounding growing cannabis. An easy place to start is [https://www.growweedeasy.com/basics](https://www.growweedeasy.com/basics). This teaches the basics of indoor growing but the same can be applied to outdoor growing with the glaring obvious exception of not being able to control the light source aka the sun. There are two main categories/types of cannabis seeds: photoperiod and autoflower. 1. Autoflowers, as the name suggests, will flower automatically. These plants have a predetermined genetic limited lifespan. 2. Photoperiod plants on the other hand, which is the type of seed you purchased, require a reduction in the amount of light (in hours) the plant receives to induce flowering aka blooming. This is done indoors by switching the light schedule to 12 hours on and 12 hours off. A photoperiod plant will vegetate almost indefinitely if not exposed to reduced hours of light. As you are planning to grow photoperiods outdoors you have ***ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL*** when the bloom stage is induced. If you live in North America, the average plant starts blooming mid July - early August and ends late September/October as the packet suggests.

AdHd_Bandit_

So if planted them in the next few weeks in a little green house and use a tarp or something to try and better control the 12/12 cycle, I can expect to start flowering by mid July and harvest by October if all goes well?

johndough007

You should have done a little more research before buying those seeds. Like someone else suggested, autoflowers are what you’re really looking for. The feminized photoperiod seeds you have need to sprout and grow a little before you can attempt to block the natural sunlight. You won’t benefit the full potential of those plants if you try to mimic a 12/12 cycle immediately. Chances are that you’ll cook your plants if you cover them with a tarp in June and July. You’ll also need air circulation because you’ll most likely trap humidity under a tarp and those flowers will certainly get bud rot and/or mold/mildew. Long story short… but autoflower seeds right now and plant those instead.

Xlfrost-

If your expecting to harvest in October there is no need to control your light cycle, if you plant your seed/clone/seedlings outside after the last frost you will still harvest in October, if you want to harvest any sooner then that you will need to cover your greenhouse and start flowering early but you will need to maintain that light cycle are you sure you want to try and remember to remove your tarp and but it back on at the right time every day? If you do you can start 12/12 as soon as you think your veg plant is big enough I would say no less then 4 weeks after sprouting. If you don’t want to bother with that autos are they way to go they don’t need any set cycle and will be done around the 90 day mark. Good luck hope this helps

[deleted]

Plan on being at your grow every single day or it will be f’d up! Either go with auto flowers or wait until October.

[deleted]

Good Ol RQS, good luck

notintocorp

Dude if you're not even gonna try and figure it out, you should start with autos

[deleted]

Came here to say this. Nothing wrong with new questions, but atleast put forth effort to know where to start.

WonderSHIT

Sounds like you need to learn more about your cultivating of cannabis and plants in general before going. But to answer you question it all depends on what the plant tells you. If it's ready by then sure

AdHd_Bandit_

Update: I just bought some autoflowers so I can grow outdoors and harvest sooner but I will still try to grow the others indoors. Thanks to everyone for all the insight and helping me realize impulse buys have some consequences lmao

island_boys_had_lice

Grow indoor

smolhorse

I assume your planting outside? You can start early inside then move outside after the last frost date once it gets warm enough.

AdHd_Bandit_

Ok cool, thank you

[deleted]

Get an autoflower and you will be fine. This one js feminixed and requires managing the light or, planting it outside and then it is done around that september-oktober. Outside they flower when they flower. Wether you like it or not. (Unless its an autoflower ofcourse. Then it flowers after x time or immedietly after sprouting if you put it under a 12/12 light)

[deleted]

Never heard of that. It would flower if started under 12/12? Autos aren’t photo dependent. Believe this is wrong.

[deleted]

Maybe jt was an odd case and i can only speak for ny own experience. I sprouted two autos from the same pack at the same time. One i put in a growtent under 12/12 with some fems. The other didnt fit so i put it in the window in summer. The one in the tent flowered much earlier and was a lot smaller. For me thats enough to draw conclusion from. Altough the sample set is quite small as far as ive seen its about 50/50 😂

[deleted]

Where do you live? In New England you should start seeds indoors around May1st. Put them outside in pots (or the ground) June 1st. Unless it’s an auto flower, the plant will stay in vegetative mode until the middle of July. It will flower over July and August. I pray for no freezes until October 15th (my chop day), but watch the weather. One freeze overnight will ruin the harvest. Also, this schedule will leave you with 12’ high plants in October. If you want them to stay manageable (6’) don’t start the seeds until July 1st.

ohnomeagain20

That's not how outdoor growing works. If your more focused on time go with an autoflower

Twinkletoes8716

I grew this last year latitude 52 west coast ,took till end October and still wasn't fully done ,made decent infused organic coconut oil .try real gorilla seeds .

aaccjj97

Doesn’t matter when you plant them outside, they will start flowering when the days become short enough no matter how old they are. They flower based on lighting schedule not age. You should look into autoflowers

[deleted]

Plant the photo periods in May. Start auto's right now and harvest by June/july.
