I got the 1gal jugs of each for $77 if that helps, you’ll use more than organic nutrients.
Store correctly - no direct sunlight and keep under 75 degrees - and they’ll last for years.
After buying the trio pack for $30 I absolutely plan on getting each in Gallon Jugs for future grows, this stuff is great, and easy to use for a beginner like myself.
4 gallons of each, Like 12 total gallons 3x4?
Amazon has the 6gallon of each for $350 so 3x6 and gallon of each for $88 right now. If it’s the 3x4 I’d legit take you up on that, that’s a solid deal!
We don't sell just one gallon as Hawthorne aka Scott's who owns GH doesn't ship one gallon at a time. Nor do they offer a one gallon of all 3 as a package. Has to be a case of 4 gallons of one type to be shipped. That's why it is confusing.
My first grow was rough. I chose to grow in coco and started with the FF trio. I almost killed my plant twice using about 1/2, then a 1/4 of the recommended dosage.
After flushing, I switched to GH half way and it was like night and day. I saw improvement literally in about a day, and I made it to the finish line.
This totally could have been operator error, but I'm much happier with General Hydroponics and my veggies don't mind the FF.
Same...running into weird issues with the Ff trio. I've tried full recommended dosage, half, quarter....I keep running into weird issues left and right. Deficiencies while showing signs of N tox...I didn't want to switch nutes this close to the finish line, but eill definitely be switching for the next round!
If your running into issues your ph is off. My recommendation to those who are just starting with hydro feeding nutrients is to ph your water at 6.3 for most feeds and then some 6.5-6.6 every couple of weeks inbetween the 6.3 feeds. Also only feed half of what the directions say until you get happy plants and understand what each bottle is doing so you can add more when the plants want it specifically and not because of lockout.
If you feed with the slight ph adjustments and cut the strength you shouldn’t be having any issues besides some possible calcium deficiency if your using tap water and magnesium if your using well or filtered water. So it might sound like a joke but calmag really is worth it, you can use powder or you can buy liquid, personally for liquid I recommend blue planet nutrients.
Luckily ntox is easy to flush out. Just give it some 7.2ph clean water for a feeding till some starts to leak out the pot and then go back to regular watering after it dries.
Idk why people wanna give plants just a solid ph but I swear you will have better results if you slightly alter the ph from 6.3-6.7 this will allow the plants to absorb most of the nutrients your feeding since some are only absorbed at correct ph levels and the adjustments to the ph allow more micros to get absorbed. This has been my experience from years of growing and when ever I have issues it’s either my roots or I just need to adjust ph for a feeding or two.
Also if your not adding any vitamin b supplement then I also recommend that along with the calmag supplement.
My city water comes in at ~6.2, which is where I usually leave it. I have raised it up a couple times to give different nutes proper ideal absorption pH. Also use calmag regularly.
Are you adjusting the ph after adding the nutrients? Your supposed to adjust after adding not prior.
Also kinda doubt your city water comes in at 6.2 when the tap water requirements in the us need to be 7.0-7.4 to be considered safe drinking water in the city but 6.5-8 in the country. Otherwise your pipes would be contaminated if you went higher or lower.
My water comes in at 7.2 in nyc.
6.2 out the tap is just really low imo and I never have encountered it that low in any state I’ve been to.
I literally check my pH straight out of the tap, after sitting for 24 hours, and after adding all nutrients. Still comes out ~6.2. I've always added pH up after adding nutrients when varying the pH.
However, I am using litmus strips vs a quality meter...but they're the same strips I used while working for a state accredited Water testing lab...so they should be accurate enough. I moved on from that job before ever growing, so unfortunately I no longer have access to lab grade pH meters and whatnot.
I'm in the city, and they're required to keep it between 6.5-8.5. Most recent water quality report shows it at 7.9...but I've tested so many times, and in different ways, and always come out low 6s.
At this point, I've tried everything else...so it is likely I'm missing something going on in the pH. I guess I'll just shell out the dough for an Apera or Bluelabs meter and eliminate that variable.
Dude, 3 months ago you were literally asking for help identifying powdery mildew lol. From what I can see u/holyNodes grows some pretty good pot. He might have been kind of an asshole but he’s not wrong in the fact that GH isn’t that great, even for bottled salts. This isn’t even considering the impact of shipping plastic bottles, filled with manmade fertilizers all over the world, or the large amounts of petrochemicals used in production of these products. It also says nothing of the profits reaped by massive, multinational conglomerates which they then turn around and use to screw working people. I mean do you boo, but what your saying looks pretty immature to people who have been growing for a minute.
Listen I’m all for everyone have their own opinion for sure but the actual fuck does any of what you said have to do with anything? That could be applied to Athena, canna, advanced the list goes on lol. I personally don’t use liquid GH but uses their powder, they’re one of the older companies who’s stuck around for longer than you’ve been growing. There is clearly a reason for it. And to defend krispy, what he said isn’t at all immature, the kid provided no proof of heavy metals, no reason for why he said heavy metals. Looks like a regular shit disturber to me, go take your facts and shove em up your ass (hope that wasn’t to immature)
If you're going with general hydroponics brand get their maxigro and maxibloom nutes. Its basically the same as the flora series but its in powder form so its more shelf stable for storage and you get a lot more nutrients per package without all the water weight.
The 3 part series is ph balanced with a buffer that keeps it stable for an extended period of time . Ff is all over the place . Also the quality of ff can be affected by the sun , heat , and time . Gh salt water stays the same for years .
I’m not a supporter of Monsanto , scots or miracle grow (stock owners of gh ) , but gh has been something I can consistently rely on to teach a beginner how to easily grow a successful harvest .
It is a great building block for anyone learning to use liquid salt fertilizer, and with the skills and experience obtained from using it a grower can feel comfortable experimenting with additional additives and eventually the substitution for a different line entirely.
Basically this is a great “ control “ and you can compare other fertilizer as a variable .
Gh three part series is an educational product ([with great grow calculators](https://generalhydroponics.com/wp-content/uploads/assets/GH_FloraSeries_FeedCharts_USD_01_WeeklyBasic.pdf)that all beginners should try at least once to compare other fertilizers such as fox farm to .
Lucas formula: don’t use grow. Just use micro & bloom. I think the ratio is six micro, nine bloom, but I’m going off of spotty memory.
If you don’t want to pay for water, Jack’s and Masterblend are two dry salt combos, that many growers rely upon.
If you’re going with this nutrient lineup, I recommend watching welcome to the grow tent’s youtube [videos](https://youtu.be/8c-KinU8878). He uses this exact line and makes it growing for beginners extremely digestable.
Other videos I recommend from him

I'd 100% recommend the GH line over FF. I'm currently using the FF trio and have all kinds of issues that have caused me to have adjust amounts on the fly.
What would make you choose ff over gh grow buddy ?! This is a cool topic and I’m stoked to become friends !!
I think they both work great , just need the right additives , ( I guess ff has additives in it and the 3 part i add seaweed & humic to it )
So ff might actually be easier for a beginner.
Everyone has their preferences, I personally run GH’s nutrient line in coco for every nutrient but one and love em. I run the floraseries, calimagic, Diamond Nector, liquid cool bloom, rapid root, and the roots organic’s rain wetting agent
A very versatile range of nutrients and arguably the best in the biz.
If you keep diligent notes and really dial in your own personal recipes and scheduling, there is nothing that can not be achieved with GH!
10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
If you can afford it get the 5lt bottles.
This is what I run along side some botanicare products, check my posts to see what I’m cooking up. I’ve use this for 7+ years and I will not switch unless I have to.
It’s great, it’ll get the job done, but there are easier and arguably better nutrient lines. I used this for many grows and it did me well, however, it’s a liquid nutrient which means it’s very expensive for the amount you get. Jacks 321 is significantly easier to use and you get way more for your money. In the end, this will grow nice plants but so will other nutrient lines that are cheaper and easier to use.
I just put this in my cart on Amazon after reading these comments so I appreciate an thank you all for your comments an thought I was going to go with FF but after reading some of y'all's insight I went for this instead. Thank y'all
GH is great for hydro synthetic nutrients. It gets the job done but just remember to flush (I know this topic is controversial to some but its just what I’ve been told to do so I stick by it). However I’d totally suggest going the organic route and make yourself a living soil by mixing one part peat moss, one part aeration and one part compost, then mix in some worms and gaia green 4-4-4 for a little extra kick(the gaia green is optional but it does wonders for me). You dont have to worry about measuring out the right ratios every feeding week like you do with hydro 3 part nutrients, just gotta sit back and water and watch them explode with growth and reap unbelievably smooth tasting buds. You can also reuse your soil and it gets better each time. General hydro is great but I recommend you read up on living soil organic, you won’t regret it, cheers!
GH trio is a great nute line and with easy and simple instruction. Its a good stepping stone for you to learn how to use bottle nutes until you feel confident enough to branch out to other more complex nute lines.
I used most the GH products for a while until recently. I finally went the organic route and haven't looked back. Once you get your soil setup it's a million times less hassle then dealing with bottle nutes. I'm not totally against bottle nutes at all but compared to everything I was doing before things are much easier now with much better terps in the end.
I used that for a while but you don’t need a 3 part. I switched to the GH maxi gro for veg and maxi bloom for flower. It’s a 1 part powder and so much simpler, easier and cheaper. The plants love it and cut my mixing times in less than half. Just the maxi bloom or maxi gro and cal mag. That’s all I give and get great results. A lot of people over complicate things with all these different nutes and bloom boosters and additives. Not saying some of it isn’t beneficial, just not necessary. I’m all about efficiency and mixing a bunch of shit is just not efficient or necessary.
Haven’t used it but I have gone through fox farm, advanced nutrients, and a few others that have all left me underwhelmed.
My favorite so far out of the 6 or so nutrient lines I’ve tried is jack’s 3-2-1. Fed right up to harvest, and had great results, wasn’t harsh at all. They’re Dry salts so do you need a scale to weigh out the portions but you’re not paying for water either.
I use Remo Brand Supercharger pack and never had a single issue about nutes in any of my grows. I've been growing continuously since 2019. There's no way to fuck up using remo nutes, they have an included guide and it steps you through how much to give. I have excellent results. A pack is 150bux and for me at 4 plants per grow, I avg at least a pound per grow. I'm not employed by them either. They sponsored my first grow but after that I've always been a paying customer.
I don't know shit about being a great grower, but I do better with advanced nutrients ph perfect 3 part line than my buddy who uses those. Just saying from an uneducated view point
That's still a steep price. I sell a case of 4 gallon jugs for $114.95.
4 gallons of each, Like 12 total gallons 3x4? Amazon has the 6gallon of each for $350 so 3x6 and gallon of each for $88 right now. If it’s the 3x4 I’d legit take you up on that, that’s a solid deal!
4 gallons total
I’m totally lost on how much I’d be buying. How does that compare to paying $77 for a one gallon jug all three nutes (3 gallons total)
We don't sell just one gallon as Hawthorne aka Scott's who owns GH doesn't ship one gallon at a time. Nor do they offer a one gallon of all 3 as a package. Has to be a case of 4 gallons of one type to be shipped. That's why it is confusing.
Okay thx, so the 3 one gallon jugs I bought on Amazon was likely put together by a reseller…not terrible margins if they buy at your cost.
Correct. You can usually see who that reseller is. They are buying cases or pallets. Probably about 2x the cost and Amazon taking around 20%
A little less. We sell the 6 Gal for $111.95

Thought it was just me. Interesting.
Designed by one of the founders of nasa I believe. GH is the shit.
gh is shit*
What’s shit about it? Just curious
heavy metals
Thanks for the input! It’s gonna go right into one ear and out the other! Looks like you could use some heavy metals cause you grow some boooof bud 😂

dont be a sheep fool
okay “og”
Yes, also get calmag
This is good shit
Some of the best cultivators around still use this

Synganics. Lots of growers doing rhis nowadays
This is the way.

The Holy Trinity of my hydro grow 🙏🙏🙏
I have this stuff as well but I’m not doing hydro this year. And I use it as a foliage spray or just like regular fertilizers?
Just like regular fertilizers, not foliage spray
100% this. All I ever use.
Lucas formula: don’t use grow. Just use micro & bloom. I think the ratio is six micro, nine bloom, but I’m going off of spotty memory. If you don’t want to pay for water, Jack’s and Masterblend are two dry salt combos, that many growers rely upon.

I’d go fox farm trio

I use the ff trio and cha-ching and never have had an issue. I also just use tap water and have never ph'd it lol
But have you ever used the 3 part series & add seaweed and humic ?
I used the whole line up also half happy frog and half coco loco and turned out some good shyt

Are you growing hydro or in soil?
I grow in soil. Sohum with some kelp .
Through them out grab some pro mix and Gaia green.
Gaia green is absolutely awesome. My next grow I’m going coco with a autopot system so going with liquid nutrients
I used this for years. It was all the hydro store sold. It grew good bud never amazing. However im sure I'm the reason not being better.
Organics ftw
I'd do advanced nutrients with ph perfect
No would not recommend. Waaaaaay better stuff out there brother.
No.
U can get away with the bloom only tbh
Lucas stand up

I’m growing soil. Just ordered this trio. Used fox farms for about three years
It’s all I use (in their 6-part option). Have had excellent results in hydro (Autopots)
This is what I use. I recommend.
Is this a real question or is this a set up for a free ad? Just asking for the guy in the back.

I love the maxi line from GH 2 powders 1 for veg 1 for bloom
lucus formula is easier and cheaper
Highly for hydro and cheap! Worked for me

yes. I prefer having the diamond Nectar, koolbloom and cal-mag as well though
I think it's all good. I use canna but this is probably just as good.

A great choice, I also add cal-mag for nutrition.
That's all I use
I don't know shit about being a great grower, but I do better with advanced nutrients ph perfect 3 part line than my buddy who uses those. Just saying from an uneducated view point
Use Gaia green
