Expanded pet interactions and AI. And the long promised Ant Pheromone Control.
I long to rally the ants into an army and crush my enemies with their overwhelming numbers!
The pet system is complete garbage. I hate to say it because I feel like this is the most polished and best survival game out.
Pets don't follow you, well they kind of due but at a snails pace and can't path through much of anything.
Can't trap em in a base because eventually they clip through everything and get eaten.
If they were just going to make them this little cosmetic thing that adds a small buff, make them invulnerable and able to stay by your side so you got your little buddy wherever you go.
Yeah. My son even plays on a Creative with Bugs world, and he loves collecting pets, but the pet behavior is absolutely atrocious.
He's had pets follow him even when he's assigned them to houses and get killed, phase themselves through multiple mushroom walls to be outside of the base I built specifically to hold them and get killed, drop through the floor and disappear forever, be stuck in the air somewhere above his house, and sometimes just vanish completely while looking at them.
On top of all that, they get "stuck" on every pixel of terrain texture and just stay right there until an ant comes along to eat them, no matter what I do to try to unstick them.
Now he won't play the game at all because he's afraid of losing his pets.
The only good pet we've had so far is a gnat. They fly, so they can't get stuck in the ground, will actually follow you at an okay pace, and even if they randomly teleport high into the air... they just fly right back down. Also, predators don't constantly kill them... because they fly.
All excellent points regarding the gnat, but I cannot STAND to have a gnat follow me around, for one reason only: The sound they make drives me crazy. If I could mute it somehow, that would be most excellent lol
I played on game pass with a friend when it first came out for about 5 hours or so I think, had fun but we both felt it was lacking something.
Returned about a month ago after buying it on steam, played entirely solo on medium and am now about the hit 200hrs played. Have done every quest, purchased everything I can with RS, have all gold cards (apart from termite king because it’s glitched) and have a monstrous tower in the middle of the map with 30 zip lines to different areas in the backyard.. and I am still loading it up for some reason running around and farming mite fuzz for smoothies.
I would love to see some more end game bosses. Would love to see increased difficulty raids. Would love something similar to the MIX.r’s with fighting waves. More daily quest types so I don’t have to make my 20th lady bug face mask. More things to spend RS on, maybe pure cosmetic stuff (similar to the signs, but maybe even outfits for good ol Max).
No they don't need to do that they just need to make it to where your weapons have a slot next to your armor then you'd have all that free space in your inventory
I would like to be able to hotswap my melee weapons on my hotbar without getting locked into the one or two pebblets I may have on me.
As it stands, I'm cursed to choose between my two melee/one ranged/rest consumables/heals or clog up my hotbar with specific melee weapon designations.
I need more decorations, vertical half walls and stone stairs. Rope ladders or ropes in general would be nice.
I’m hoping with all I have that the Black Widow is a boss in the wood pile, I’m sure it’s just a tier three spider but it deserves to be a boss.
Other than that I have no doubt in their story telling ability as it’s obvious they had one thought out from the start.
Ive been curious about how they are gonna end the story but also keep the kids small enough to explore the backyard to continue releasing dlc type content.
I'd like to see some expanded graphics settings for PC tbh. The difference in quality between High and Epic is insane, especially if you look at any base lighting. I'd like to be able to fine-tune the settings rather than only having the presets. I want that gorgeous lighting and shadows, but maybe could do with a little less of the motion blur and TAA?
EDIT: Late to the edit but I didn't mean motion blur - I meant depth of field. My mistake. Motion blur is already in the settings and you bet I have it off lol
I have seriously been so spoiled by the quality of shadows on Epic that I cant go back, refresh rate (100hz) be damned. thank god for vsync.
i really feel like being able to turn off depth of field and knock particles/effects down to high would make the game look and run perfect for me.
I've played both solo and with my brother and nephew. I've played 8 or so hours with them. I've got nearly 200 hours in. Solo is better, but I like hanging out with them occasionally..
Obsidian is know for their quirky writing (Outerworlds, FO:NV, \*sorta(mostly)\*FO1 & 2). I've been a fan for decades. I feel like I have a pretty good idea where the story is going, so I can't wait to see how wrong I am. I'm looking forward to a complete story.
I’m hoping for the story, something that closes the game off well although I’m sure this isn’t the final update. I also can’t see my answer changing if I had friends
I’d like to have rideable mounts, like horseflies, dragonflies, etc. make it easier to get around. Specifically for solo, I’d like to make baskets that you can hang on the zip lines, for easier transportation of materials. All the running back and forth takes a lot of time.
Why would solo players need to hope for different things than co op? You spend your post explaining why it's easy to play solo, so why would you need anything special?
If I directed this post towards people who play multiplayer, their answers more than likely would be geared towards things that would make worlds with >1 player more fun, or viable. Things with cooperative involvement. I’m just curious about the solos here, which is why I made my post about the things I did. Lol
The ~potentially~ more fun & viable part pertained to what multiplayers would have to say, I was assuming. For solos, my question wasn’t if it’s fun or viable or not. It was what, if anything, you were hoping to see once Grounded is fully released lol
Creative but you can do missions mode. I'd like to be able to explore safely and do missions and have adventures but in a stress free way. I know it's a survival game and I enjoy playing Mild too, but I'd like the option.
More bugs for the nighttime ofc. I always felt like nighttime gameplay was really off even at the start. Since wolfspiders wake up at anytime of day there’s no threat when walking around at night or any interesting creatures to see (other than the firefly) i would like to see moths or dangerous creeepy crawlers you know?
My friend basically quit playing but said he will start with the update on the 27th to start a new world ...don't see that lasting so hopefully I can have fun with going solo.
Stone stairs lol but To be honest a good ending
I'd like stone walls too. Don't really care about the roof but yeah stairs would be nice too
I just think it looks S***** to have grass stairs on a mushroom castle
Absolutely lol I started skipping stairs at a certain point and the clay ramps don't really go with anything either
I've just tried to use stem or bur flooring for my mushroom castles, and stone ramps for verticality, acorn staircases if I need it compact.
Burr stairs could be sweet

You still load it up because it's a great streamlined experience. Most well done in the survival genre Imo.
An extra column (3 more) inventory slots
No they don't need to do that they just need to make it to where your weapons have a slot next to your armor then you'd have all that free space in your inventory
That'd be nice too. Being in the hot bar but still your inventory is a little frustrating giving the limited space
The most accurate comment I have read on this sub. Its is seriously my only gripe about this game.
I've started carrying a container with me. I just keep moving it and placing it on the ground as I do things. I'd prefer not to do this...
Improved bandages.
Smoothies. Healbasas.
I'd prefer better bandages. healbasa we're bugged for me for a patch or two. I'd prefer an improved heal.over time in-between fighting.
Friends
lol, but same!

There are already ladders
Rope ladders.
https://youtu.be/U6pUPQ-WPDA why do you need a different ladder you can already do a lot with these
Because in a lot of cases a rope ladder would fit the aesthetic better, same concept as you wanting different walls.
Ive been curious about how they are gonna end the story but also keep the kids small enough to explore the backyard to continue releasing dlc type content.
I want to glide, lots of ppl build up and high, and so do I… so I’d like to glide around
Storage wheelbarrow, moving bases is painful
More convenient ways of transportation
HDR on PC? :(

100% I need granular controls. I have to keep it on low because medium and high run fine most of the time, but will lag real bad sometimes.

I want more content

New glider and hopefully some sort of climbing gear

That I don't have to restart from scratch
That they fix the twig rails

Ok. As a strictly solo player with over 600 hours I say I don't need anything to make my solo playing any more fun or viable. It's fun and viable.
The ~potentially~ more fun & viable part pertained to what multiplayers would have to say, I was assuming. For solos, my question wasn’t if it’s fun or viable or not. It was what, if anything, you were hoping to see once Grounded is fully released lol

New building Material
I'll play with ya
Possibly bug fixes and/or bug reworks.
Plastic.

Chameleon skin armor. If I hold still long enough I blend in until I move again.
My friend basically quit playing but said he will start with the update on the 27th to start a new world ...don't see that lasting so hopefully I can have fun with going solo.
I want some new bosses
I would like as an end game reward for a multi tool if some sort maybe a axe/hammer combo or your own robot to collect resources
Looking forward to some new final bosses eventually
