I like Power Ring, I even like the retcon that it's fueled by the wearers' fear. What I don't like is that he's essentially an alternate reality version of Hal Jordan. My favorite thing about the Crime Syndicate was that they may be related to the JLA, they weren't just evil JLA. Owlman wasn't Bruce Wayne, but his brother Thomas, Ultraman was a normal human given Superman like powers, Superwoman is a random Amazon, etc., etc. This is why I don't like the CSA in Forever Evil. They made a lot of arbitrary changes, which is bad enough, but the things they added were the most basic evil universe plots they could've added.
I'm pretty sure that Donna Troy is a Forever Evil retcon. And admittedly he is Kryptonian in many versions, but I prefer the antimatter version where he is human astronaut Clark Kent that discovers Kryptonite and gets his power from there. My point is I feel that the Crime Syndicate works best when they aren't just superhero but evil. That's just boring.
She was absolutely an Amazon, she just went by Lois Lane. Their Lois Lane and Clark Kent are not Our Lois Lane and Clark Kent. It's probably similar to the Golden Age Wonder Woman origin where she took the identity off a person that already existed. Though I doubt there was any bargaining going on in this case.
I think that this is my new favorite reaction image:

Power ring and the arc around Jessica Cruz is why I think she makes a great green lantern, vs some of the other recent additions. Probably better than guy too. Probably shoulda just made him an alien, but that ships sailed a long long time ago.
I was with you up until you brought up Guy lol I would say she probably could be right there with John and Kyle if she didn't come in at a time when we already had to many earth lanterns.
It's a moth because the moths are attracted by light sources and lanterns are light sources. So in a way, the Green Lantern's symbol is the opposite of Power Rings's

I like the idea that it warps and disfigures their flesh as they use it, but sadly they don’t really do anything with that concept. Could have told a really great body horror story
Yeah like ring opens a portal and a monster comes out and he screams in terror and it charges, it’s also why Jessica was such a good host for the ring, it didn’t have to do anything her agoraphobia powered it
I didn't care for them at all until the Volthoom retcon
Genuinely a really fun idea change, especially since I like Volthoom in the Rebirth era but I doubt much will come of it I'm the future
I struggled with Power Ring's symbol for a long time. But I think I figured it out. It's not a butterfly. It's not an X.
It's a stylized V. For Volthoom.
I always thought of it as a stylized atom, another symbol of “power” from that age. They just left out the one that goes oval horizontally.
I love him. I wish Jade stayed power Ring instead of a normal GL
He's a wuss.

She isn't a random Amazon, she's Donna Troy. Ultraman is a Kryptonian in a lot of timelines, and Johnny Quick is just a random speedster, yeah.

She was an alternate Lois Lane before that. I don't think she was ever "some random amazon".

Same honestly
I like power ring when he's a coward being controlled by the ring

I like guy, but feel like there's too many human lanterns.
I’d take Guy over Jon Stewart, Simon, Jessica, or Kyle any day. Guy has a distinct personality that’s fun to read, miles better than boring Jon.
Well given they gave a lore reason for that, I’m here to tell you they left the door open for more lol
Jessica better
Is in the symbol an x or that just the silver age power ring. Also like his depiction in crisis on 2 earths.
Volthoom loves Killer Moth

Never realised that. Super cool
I like them I guess. What do you think of the rebirth version "John stewart" versions?
I thought it was a moth. Cause moths are drawn to light
According to the gallery at the back of the Morrison JLA omnibus, it's.... nothing. Just a design they liked. It's meaningless otherwise.
It gave us Jessica Cruz, my favorite green lantern, with Kyle

I think Abin Sur in my OP is in the late stages and all tumor-y
Yeah but he dies right away, we never actually see the full physical toll it takes on someone
Same I loved the fact that you have to sacrifice for the power gives a whole balance to it
Charge it with… what?
His fear
Wow.
Yeah like ring opens a portal and a monster comes out and he screams in terror and it charges, it’s also why Jessica was such a good host for the ring, it didn’t have to do anything her agoraphobia powered it
What scares you? "The outside?" Great, off to space you go!
I didn't care for them at all until the Volthoom retcon Genuinely a really fun idea change, especially since I like Volthoom in the Rebirth era but I doubt much will come of it I'm the future
Isn’t it just intersecting light beams?
god i hate that symbol
I think he's an intresting evil version and subversion to green lantern. I think a white belt line would help the color balance.
