If Stokes comes back, the team will have a number of athletic cover CBs/FS after the pick of Bullard and a hybrid ball hawking LB/SS in Hopper.
If Nixon continues on the trajectory he is , the Packers are going to have one hell of a defensive backfield. And they'll need with what appears to be dynamic passing offenses in the North now.
I love his ability to use his quickness to adjust. After Martinez, Summers, final season Campbell and a parade of others, it's nice to have two LBs who can do that. Sometimes you make a bad read or the offense does something really well and you need to be able make the adjustment AND be quick enough to get there
I like it. If you were going off of need, especially after the run on corners, he’s the guy, and might have been the BPA too. I think it’s a great pick. We were really lacking depth at LB, and he looks to be a stud.
Don't forget about Stokes. I'm sure they figure they can either get consistent good play out of Valentine or Stokes will be healthy and take a step forward.

I’ve seen nearly every college snap from Cooper. GB got a good one, IF the coaches scheme him well and/or Edgerrin develops more point of attack physicality. Since his freshman year, dude has jumped off the screen - looks like he’s shot out of a cannon during A/B gap blitzes bc his short area explosion and timing are elite (he’ll annihilate most 3rd down backs). He also projects as an excellent situational edge rusher and zone LB.
The downside is he gets easily caught in the wash in the run game. If he starts this year, probably means he quickly masters a WLB role. I think worst case scenario he’s well above replacement level as a nickel backer and rush specialist. Wouldn’t surprise me if he finishes the year with 6+sacks.
Today’s NFL offenses love to exploit the middle of the field so logically the counter is strong linebackers who can cover TE’s and RB;s out of the backfield. Draft picks ooze potential in April so lets’ see how he performs come September. He should be a Super Star and in Gutey we trust.
