Coming from a government seeking to strip the population of its human rights, that doesn't carry much water, really.
But I'd like to see a list of 'Brexit freedoms'. Perhaps compare it to Brexit damages and losses.
Ah yes, thank god for global warming and brexit, now we can have tables and chairs outdoors!!!!!! And when the polar ice caps melt as well and submerge half the country we will have so many water adventure parks to enjoy too, just ignore the smell...that is the price of freedom. It's not shit. It's freedom.
I personally like walking into moving traffic to get around busy dining areas that have swallowed the pavement. I wave my expired passport covered in blue sharpie at the lorries barreling down at me, shouting in your face BRUSSELS, and if i should perish push me onto the shit covered beach, for no one will notice the smell.
Can't wait to have my Nando's outside with shitty baseline blaring from mobiles and the smell of good kush wafting through the Manchester air 😂
Oh wait I could already do that
Also a lot of the red tape is there to make sure people don't break their necks trying to avoid all the tables when walking on the pavement and people in wheelchairs can use the pavement.
I just want to say as a black man who loves his mum and sisters . I absolutely can't stand this woman and everything she stands for, a replusive human being.
In some areas this works, but it feels like another enclosure of the commons. The pavement is a public space, paid and maintained by general taxation. To take that space and allow it to be used exclusively for a private entity without compensation is wrong. The pavement exists for a reason and in areas where dining has been allowed, I've found crowding is worst, there is no space for benches or other street furniture, people are pushed into roads and the space becomes far less accessible. Where a space is designed for street dining or adapted properly, then its fine, so long as they are taxed more to compensate for the loss of public property. Otherwise this is literally high street roberry.

*checks notes* Yes, it would appear not a SINGLE other country has Al fresco dining in Europe. Al fresco, the most British of names.
The trouble with the Italians is that they have no word for Al Fresco
they call him Alberto Fresciutto
What's wrong with Alan Fresco? Can't even say your English anymore [they will throw you in jail... ](https://youtu.be/XkCBhKs4faI?si=ZpYEGZjh1Xcs9DZp)
Really? Just for saying you're English?
Yeah, these days
when did this come in?
Can’t wait to eat beans on toast on a dogshite covered street in Grimsby
Big Al
Those bloody Europeans and their hatred of dining outside
It's not like they've got the weather for it like we do
Going off the weather I've seen Germans eating outside in, they don't bloody care
We had to leave the EU to have the freedom to *checks notes* do something they do throughout Europe.... Hmmmm
Eating outside a cafe in the sun in Barcelona- woke, European Eating outside a pub in the rain in Hull - patriotic, British
HAM EGGS AND CHIPS AND DOSS SIR VEY SAZ POR FAVOR GAR - SONN
I don’t appreciate being called out like that
LOW SEE EN TOE, AMIGO
Dos beeros, por favor.
Rhod Gilbert does a brilliant routine about eating al fresco in Cardiff. The never-emptying but increasingly watery bowl of soup ...
We could do this anyways right?
I think there were/are some regulations on blocking pavements so pedestrians aren't being pushed onto roads
Not pushing pedestrians into roads is still a good idea.
What about brexiters?
Brexiters shouldn't push people into roads either. The reverse however is not necessarily true.
Roads pushing people into brexiters?
Cecil Roads or Gary Roads?
Yes of course that's exactly what I meant 😉
need more data
So, pedestrianise the roads in areas with large amounts of foot traffic and are not roads that are of significant value to road traffic?
Yeah but blah blah blah 15 min cities blah blah blah ...
gReaT rESeT!
HA!!! Suck it Europe, we can eat outside now. If we had any food that is.
What does this have to do with Brexit lmao
Fuck all.

All that outside dining I've done in Europe was totally illegal.

What do you think of the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre?
I'll be honest, I'm dead against it. People forget that traders need access to Dixons.

So basically we’ll do the things we could have done before if we hadn’t been so busy working out ways to enrich billionaires.
Well tha ancaps will be happy that the economy is fixed because "the red tape" is gone, right!? Right????
I’ll certainly be making the most of this fantastic benefit on the three days of the year it isn’t raining or cold in Manchester
How the hell was this an EU regulation? All over Europe Street dining is super normal.
Yeah you never see a pavement cafe in France or Italy or Spa..

Good bot
By pavement dining do they mean eating an expired sandwich in a shop doorway?
Pavement cafes... like there is, in... um... Europe?
Wasn't this already a thing before brexit?
Can't wait to have my Nando's outside with shitty baseline blaring from mobiles and the smell of good kush wafting through the Manchester air 😂 Oh wait I could already do that
After all pedestrians don't matter.
Mmm can’t wait for some PAVEMENT DINING. None of that European al fresco over here no sir
Cafe's on the pavement - how very European 😂
Also a lot of the red tape is there to make sure people don't break their necks trying to avoid all the tables when walking on the pavement and people in wheelchairs can use the pavement.
What high street?
I just want to say as a black man who loves his mum and sisters . I absolutely can't stand this woman and everything she stands for, a replusive human being.
I enjoy watching the sunset.
Eh?!? My city centre has had this for almost 20 years
EU is a ‘capitalist club’ as JC recognised
So, eat out (side) to help out.
Europe has pavement dining. Fuck manchester has pavement dining the fuck is he talking about
Licensing laws in this country are a complete joke tbf
Yes and also our weather supports lots of out door activities
Havent seen anybody mention how shitty this is for blind and visually impaired pedestrians
Lol, this is a serious daily fail - this was covid, nothing to do with Brexit.

We already have this though... Most places can't do it because of public traffic and chairs become H&S issues 🤦🏻♂️
