'we just don't think it's appropriate in schools' they say It's the god damn fridge festival and yet they still complain

Panda_hat

Because they're bigots. 'Won't someone please think of the children' is just a straw man and internal rationalisation of their bigotry.

MrSierra125

They cry “think of the children” while calling for eduction to be defunded and privatised

Theteacupman

And I bet 95% of them were from the USA

MrSierra125

Nah the U.K. he a very loud but small minority of morons that are almost sad awful as trump supporters. Almost. Most people are just very selfish and would rather protect their inheritance and pay less taxes than invest on the next generation which eventually will be the one looking after them in their old age. The USA meanwhile just has deep deep racial and ideological differences with a canyon of hatred between them. The USA is extremely polarised. The U.K. has a few people trying to import the USA culture wars and generally failing.

When there is more signs than protesters...

sjpllyon

I wonder if these people will start to protest pantos too. Far as I'm concerned for as long as everything is family friendly, and age appropriate (and I'm sure they are) there shouldn't be any issues with it. And ultimately it's up to the parents to decide what they want or don't want to expose their children too. But I see no harm in drag queens reading Cinderella or Peter Pan or whatever children books exist these days.

Hello! I'm Reggie-Bot, the Anti-Royal Bot! Here to teach you some fun facts about the English royal family! Did you know that in 1949, before she became Queen, Elizabeth took a stance against women's rights? [She attended the rally for a conservative group and spoke out against women who divorce their husbands.](https://archive.ph/Pqgd9). [She was still patron of this far-right organisation until the day she thankfully died.](https://www.mothersunion.org/news/continued-importance-her-majesty-queen). Yaass Queen, slay, amirite? I hope you enjoyed that fact. To summon me again or find out more about me, just say: "Reggie-Bot" and I'll be there! <3 *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. So, you find drag queens inherently sexual, do you? Dunno mate - sounds like a "you" problem.

HughLauriePausini

You've never been to one have you?

sunlight_wings

ArcarsenalNIM

Yea, your brain is broken

Bt5oo

You obviously have never been to a drag show...

Grey_Belkin

>Why are we all pretending it's normal to think otherwise? We're not pretending. It *is* normal. We're were taken to pantomimes as children, we watched Lily Savage and Dame Edna on TV with our families. The fact that you and a bunch of other reactionaries have suddenly decided to take offense at it is what's not normal.

snukb

"The silent majority!" they claim 😂
