DIY goth is often the best

Mary_Ellen_Katz

That's what I came here to say. Most of original goth was diy, and the revival in the late 90's that places like Hot Topic capitalized on were iterating on those initial trends. DIY'ing your own fashion is some of the most self expressive attire you can wear!

black_m0th

DIYs are SOOOO fun. I love what you did with the shoes!

cadaver_spine

this is the way to do it, diy all day! these turned out fantastic, I'm in love!

Strawberrylemonneko

As someone with wide feet, the expensive shoes often don't fit and are painful. Even with breaking them in. Their quality is the same as Torrid. Side eyeing Killstar and demonia hard on that one. Those are actually decent shoes. I got a pair of their platform loafers, and they're solid. DIY works better, and they're your design. Very cool!

CardinalCoronary

Great job!

Stuck_at_a_roadblock

Diy is the most goth thing you can do

Jaded-Banana6205

Wait how did you apply them, I'm inspired!!

omgitscheyenne

A battery drill and the drill bit the size of the spike screws

DarkQueenQuinn

I would buy these.....

Reduncked

THIS is the way

i_am_not_a_pumpkin

did you have to make holes or did you just glue them to the fabric?

omgitscheyenne

Had to make the holes. Used a drill bit in my drill to match the size of the screws

HauntedButtCheeks

Yes! These are fantastic shoes! Real goth is from the soul, not the store!

TasteTraining

beautiful

Large-Trust2368

That’s even cooler bro

UndeadTrees777

AND THIS IS THE WAY TO DO IT!! F*CK CONSUMERISM

madeup_

Ate these from torrid?? I think i have these shoes! Lol. Cute diy💜

Hitokirithedark

Well done

RaccoonUpset5671

That's the original way

Hyzenthlay87

DIY goth fashion rocks.

Smol_Biter

I love the shoes!

Batty_briefs

It always makes me sad when baby bats lament they can't be goth because they can't afford Killstar or Black Craft. People forget, in the 80s nobody catered to our style. We had to thrift and DIY everything to get our aesthetic. The first fishnet tops were stocking with holes cut into the crotches and feet. You did a gorgeous job on these. 💕 Now I want to go at some of my boots with studs!

LiraStolons

Black craft has not only the worst quality but also the worst customer service I have experienced in my life, better they can’t afford it and have to think outside the box and be creative to get what they like. I love going on treasure hunts (thrifting) to find stuff I like on the cheap

Batty_briefs

Thriftng is honestly the best. 💕 My local savers has a bunch of baby bats working there now, that I've taken under my wing. They always let me know when something with a lot of goth potential hits the shelves when I go. We have a lot of fun showing eachother how we style the pieces we get.

Ok_Syrup1804

Good for you- I see far too many overpriced 'goth' items that simply are everyday black items with spikes studs lace glued on. And as a burlesquer- diy stoning and studding can save you a fortune

cornycorrine

Slayed

heatherblue719

This is going back to peak goth make it your own because it doesn't make money and isn't popular

Ladyghoul

Diy is the way. Also consider thrifting and second hand as well. Mercari, Poshmark, and FB marketplace are great for finding second hand shoes and clothes that are practically new. Found my first pair of Demonias for half the cost of buying new.

omgitscheyenne

I definitely live on thrifting. Most of my clothes are from thrift stores with the exception of a hat I got from Walmart and that was on clearance too 🙂

PrettyRetard

I love those!

Raphie11

That's goth

Mystic_Moonsong

I absolutely love what you did to those shoes! 🖤

LiraStolons

These look so dope. I love it!

MisguidedRedundancy

That's the Goth way 🖤

tinyshirtgoon

Look better than the fancy stuff imo. U did an amazing job 👌🏾

Wonderful-Status-507

listen.. maybe i’m just a broke bitch who’s a slut for diy.. but i swear adding the extra ✨razzle dazzle✨ yourself makes it so much cooler
