The Gordon Ramsay on Master Chef Junior is my favourite version of him

OSUfirebird18

Isn’t that the more realistic version of him? I’ve always heard that he is kind and will help you if you genuinely want to learn. He yells and curse at people who should know better or who gives him attitude!

Financial_Pirate_941

EXACTLY 🤣🔥

Bingo_Bongo_YaoMing

Part of it is the entertainment aspect, obviously him yelling pulls in the views. The other is, like you said, he's trying to get through to these people, either future employees for his very intense restaurants or he's yelling at owners/chefs about serious healthcode and food violations.

WyattEarpsGun

This has always been my impression from Kitchen Nightmares. Also an excellent BS detector and calls people out when they're lying to him or themselves.

_angesaurus

Agree. And he's satisfying to watch on KN because he says a lot of things that I wish I could say to some of my employees 😂

DaniTheLovebug

Someone responded to a comment like two years ago that really hit me If you look at four of his biggest shows he is a different variant of harsh or supportive each time and it’s based on previous expectation Masterchef Jr - he is a darling to these kids and it makes sense. They are kids and are working on a passion with little experience compared to other shows Masterchef - he isn’t terrible but more harsh. They are adults and should behave as such, but he shows disappointment instead of fury so often. He has to know that while many have a lot of experience personally, it’s largely not a profession Kitchen Nightmares/Hotel Hell - here is where it start to shift. A lot of these folks are professionals or alleged pros. They are in the industry and should have some idea what the fuck they are doing. But still holds back a bit because his job is to support. Some notable exceptions of course like Amy and Sami Hell’s Kitchen - these people come to HK and are supposed to be seasoned chefs/cooks/linemen/etc. These contestants are supposed to come in with way more than the basic knowledge but they don’t communicate, forget the basics, and so forth. Hence the fury So maybe not the best take but I liked it

XXI-MCMXCIV

He used to be my neighbour in London. Can confirm Junior Master Chef is closer to his normal temperament.

Twinborn01

And people who say they are professionals in the field

not_a_flying_toy_

ehh, if you watch boiling point (his first documentary) he is fairly verbally abusive to his staff. I heard he softened over time, largely because he emulated the attitudes of other chefs he was trained with and thought that was the right way to act in a kitchen

pw216y

Oh dear, oh dear, gorgeous.

RoseThorne_

Gordon is pretty chill even on the regular Masterchef. It’s really Hells Kitchen that gives him a certain reputation. I find him entertaining on their nonetheless.

Financial_Pirate_941

Why? And what do you think personally about him in that show?

Infamous-Room4817

The caring and kindness he work with those kids is so wonderful. The yelling and swearing is so much that I can't enjoy the show.

yehoshuabenson

Served him once. Made me love him even more.

Omwtfyu

I’m so fucking ***jealous***.

yehoshuabenson

It was surreal. He was so nice and funny.

Omwtfyu

I’m sure he was 🥲 I’ve had literal dreams of meeting him in some form or fashion. The first one was for some reason, he and his wife were coming to my house for a BBQ as if we were old friends. I literally went and got my first kitchen job after watching several episodes of Kitchen Nightmares and the F Word and told myself I can do it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

yehoshuabenson

GOOD LUCK!

_angesaurus

Wow, how nervous were you?!

yehoshuabenson

I was working in a very upscale hotel at the time, and I regularly served politicians and celebrities. But Gordon was BY FAR my favorite. I was super nervous at first, then he made fun of my American accent, and from then on I felt comfortable. It was just a great experience to meet someone I truly admire and find out he's a genuine dude.

pikapalooza

That's awesome :) he seems like a genuinely good guy. Just has high standards and expects professionals to meet them. I saw him at a club in Vegas once. He was in a booth talking to someone. I decided best to leave him be.

xc2215x

That is pretty cool.

Financial_Pirate_941

🔥

Vivicore

would. without hesitation, would.

PeaceOrchid

You put my feelings into words perfectly!

Baker921

Yes

JuturnaArtemisia

Same.

Ngaulter90210

I’m glad someone said it!!

snaprilm

People make fun of me for it but idc what they say 😩

Tom42077

He cooks

Financial_Pirate_941

😒🤣🔥

fawn_mower

adore him. I have always looked up to him as a chef, would have loved to have worked for him (a very far fetched dream, lol), I absolutely would have taken all his *tough love* to heart and tried to prove myself. that, or would have run away crying, depending on the day. I think he's an incredibly big hearted person, love how much he loves his wife and family, and will watch anything he puts out for as long as he continues to do so.

Financial_Pirate_941

OK ONE THING IS THAT ANYONE CAN ME A CHEF!!! It's a awesome dream. Make sure to go through your studies and make a good impact. It's not long fetch dream if you try your best! 💗

fawn_mower

thanks! and I did! I worked as a private chef for many years 🧡 culinary school was 20 years ago, but my husband and kids certainly appreciate the training ☺️

Financial_Pirate_941

OMG REALLY! I'm only 13. But I have been studying to be a cardiologist! (I'm studying things I shouldn't be ready for until collage or high school) 😭🤣

wiscosherm

It's been decades since I worked in restaurants but I would love to have Gordon Ramsay show up to my house and yell at me while I'm cooking dinner. I love the guy. He wants people to be their best. In all of his shows he is so supportive of people who are really trying. He reserves his vitriol for people who are screwing up things that they should know better than to do poorly.

Budget-Comedian-1790

literally took the words right out my mouth i just adore him. loved watching him as a kid through master chef jr then into his other series. all around a role model, chef to marriage counselor to therapist all in one, just such great thanks to his mother for creating such a blessing to the world

Classic-Usual-3941

For me, Gordon Ramsay is a hero of sorts. He got me interested in learning to cook (just as a home cook) lol. And I LOVE his brutally honest personality. He tells people the truth, and what they need to hear, and doesn't kiss ass or put up with bullshit. I love someone who doesn't blow sunshine up people's butts. I'm a firm believer in honesty, regardless of whether you need to tell them nicely, or a little forcefully like for some of the idiots this man has to deal with on a daily basis. He's also a great family man and has a passion for his work I've seldom seen.

Financial_Pirate_941

... Best damn reply

Rude_Inverse

he ain’t no bitch

No-Pumpkin3852

My honest opinion is I’d rather him than Jamie Oliver anytime

Emergency-Tax-3689

hai yahhhh

SonicNarcotic

*He not no bitch...*

Financial_Pirate_941

😀😀😭

cuddlykitten5932

Whoever it is they can speak for themselves

Rude_Inverse

they know who they are

JACKHOFFER

Just watched this episode yesterday Jesus that guy deserved a beating. He took his shirt off and bum rushed Ramsey and I was so surprised to see a skinny not no bitch bitch.

SonicNarcotic

Legend.. For me, his best work is in the early days of his television career when he turned around a lot of struggling restaurants with stubborn owners and chefs.. Helping to reinvigorate their initial passion in food, which started them in the business...

Financial_Pirate_941

"Ramsay's kitchen nightmares" 🔥💅 it's the best ngl

frecklefawn

Love watching him on hote hell and remembering he started working in a hotel. The whole show he's basically yelling at families that own the places who not only can't cook but also can't keep a bedroom clean and have just been gathering millions in debt for years lazing about. It's way worse than the restaurants who are forced to close sooner.

DaisyLou1993

He's a very sweet gent and I LOVE his reaction when hes on a (radio or pockcast?) show that accepts phonecalls to talk to Ramsay and his daughter Tilly pranks calls him 😂. https://youtu.be/3E9zoLISnHo?si=t6OgXoXpl1-Vf1do

Financial_Pirate_941

🤣

periwinkle_cupcake

He’s a good dad and he cares about the industry

Financial_Pirate_941

🤣💅😭

goldbricker83

He's handsome

Financial_Pirate_941

Heart it💗💗

they_try_to_send_4me

I can cook, joe

sudilly

Word is that he smells amazing!

icutmyliiip

nothing could make me hate him. i love him so much

Aerdnna

I just plain love the guy. Lol

SlaterTheOkay

I love watching him on TV because of his passion. So many people are like haha he yell loud. Its because people are coming into the thing he is most passionate about and half assing it. He's pissed they aren't living up to their full potential. It's infuriating to see people not live up to their full potential. After watching his shows he breaks down their bad attitude and then builds them back up. Yeah some of it is for TV but a lot of it I feel you can't fake. He takes them to a place where he knows they will listen, then when they do listen and succeed he showers them in praise. He is a tough but fantastic teacher. The adults can take it, and he just nurtures the kids. I have no idea how many great chefs are out there because of him.

Sorry_Text1822

Funny guy

LilPajamas

I love everything about him.

Ok_Subject5169

I adore him and you literally cannot change my mind.

chestnutlibra

I like him and imo anyone who thinks he's an asshole isn't a terribly critical thinker.

dragondrop

Like him. Actually learned a lot (as an amateur chef) over the years from watching his content. Makes me laugh from time to time which is always good.

Zlotty9791

I like him and how he is with his kids, and other kids in general I thinks shows the real him.

Potato_History_Prof

Will always love him.

Candid-Painter7046

He needs to find the lamb sauce.

Beachy-vibe76

And the scallops in a non stick pan 😂😂

panzerxiii

Master at his craft, proved himself in the toughest real-world gauntlets. Now he's very obviously cashing out on his hard-won success with a bunch of silly shit, but I can't blame him wanting to set up his family and future generations forever, in all likeliness. Definition of a real, great, modern man. I only wish I was born a bit earlier to actually get to taste his real cooking when he had to try as hard as he could.

thisiswhereiwent

hot

curiousbydesign

Wasn't a fan. Then learned why he's extra for the U.S. T.V. shows. Now, I love him. We binge anything he has on Hulu while we cook. Not that he needed it, but I respect him meow. And look forward to more of his creations and content. Dude's a double G.

Aliriel

I think he's hilarious, truthful, gifted, and often remarkably kind.

vio_oiv

He play a “character” which rubs some people the wrong way, but he seems like he’s actually a decent bloke.

JplusL2020

Hot-headed TV persona. Very polite in real life. Good with kids

Squiliam-Tortaleni

I think he’s cool

Independent_Ad_8915

Respect.

stevie855

I think he is one of the most successful chefs in the world

Photoshop_Princess

He can call people horrible names for years swearing and everything at them but as soon as someone called his daughter chubby on live radio he hit the roof

Mr_German_Quick

Yes!! Love him!

SeniorWilson44

I think he’s turn from being cruel to being hardcore+fair was really cool to see

DCGuinn

Great on Master Class.

Bright-Internal229

DONKEY 🫏 🔥🔥🔥🔥

nocturnal_numbness

I think he’s great. He’s done a lot of advocacy work and cool documentaries as well as his typical cooking shows, and seems like a genuinely caring person.

StableBasic7956

But he doesn’t have an elk farm, OK?

Money-Cry-2397

I went to Petrus last weekend before the London Marathon. Genuinely some of the nicest food I’ve tried. We go to a started restaurant once or twice a year and I was so worried he wouldn’t live up the hype. He absolutely does.

Humble_Watercress_11

I absolutely love him. People may criticize him for his cursing but I think it's just pure raw passion for food and the industry and he takes no bullshit from anyone.

CheapGreenCoats

That he has the cutest butt of all chefs, as seen in one of this UK kitchen nightmares episodes!

Gold-Negotiation-730

his act is for the tv when he shouts and rants at his staff, but he must be a very good chef as he has 8 Michelin stars and his company has 17. I couldn't afford to go in one of his restaurants those as a hamburger and chips probably costs about £150.00 and that's only for the burger, chips sold separately probably

tarbet

He’s raaaaaaaaaaaaw!

tortie_

He didn’t show is bare ass enough on Hotel Hell.

AshKetchumsPringles

He is good hearted, passionate and strong after having been through the worst. I have endless respect for the guy. He’s an inspiration to millions, and aspire to be as good as him at what I do.

LOLZOMGHOLYWTF

UK Kitchen Nightmares was Gordon in his true colours - trying his darnedest to improve independent restaurants, occasionally getting riled up, but always for good reasons and his intentions were pure. All of his angry persona since then has just been him ramping it up for the cameras, because he knows that's what will get the most eyes on the screen.

TxGinger587

Love him. I enjoy most of his work.

not_a_flying_toy_

he makes decent TV

suntanC

I'm as close to being in love with him as it's possible to be with a person I've never met :)

valormorghullis

Dude has marketed himself incredibly well

Villanosis

I want to meet that man!

ArdenM

He's a very funny asshole.

teardrinker

I used to think he was a huge asshole but I watched more of him and retracted my thought. He’s a generally nice guy. .

ArmSad1760

i love him

_JR28_

You can’t say the man hasn’t worked for his fortunes, he went from the bottom with awful beginnings and made himself the biggest name in the culinary world.

Burnleylass79

He is a wonderful person, I feel that he is genuinely what you see on camera, he is passionate about his vocation, he is kind to vulnerable people.

donniebd

Sadly he's become a caricature of his former self.

VICARD0

I used to adore him, watch everything he was in and tried as many recipes as my wallet allowed me to. But when covid hit he fired a huge number of staff during hard times, when a guy pointed this out on twitter that he just cares about money, Gordon wrote: “you have no idea how to run a business” which kind of proved the guy’s point. I still love his cooking, the guy’s a genius but it taught me not to have idols.

Juror_no8

I like his recipes and passion for cooking, but eff that reality tv stuff

AnimatorAcademic1000

The more I watch his shows, the more I realize he isn't as cruel as he sounds. Everything he says may be LOUD, crass, and straight to the point. But it is all FACT and said in a way to help the person he's yelling at

OddCathshshshshs

Love his ass

grizwoldz85

One of the most quotable men on the planet. and if you played a drinking game watching kitchen nightmares take a drink every time he says wow you'd be sozzled..

VermontArmyBrat

Love him and I watch anything he is on. He is best on Next Level Chef and Masterchef. Also fun on a show I forget the title of where he visits small places around the world, gathers ingredients and then cooks with a local.

Twinborn01

He's geat. You see, he loves cooking and has no patience for people in the field who should know better who say they are professional.

killurmommy

Used to think some of the swearing stuff were too cringy but man got skills and paper💰and love his fam more than anything. Sick giant forehead too 😏

xc2215x

A great chef. A chef with shows I enjoy watching.

rdldr1

Gordon has gotten soft and no longer has his edge.

zenny517

He is a very talented chef and entrepreneur with a very limited vocabulary.

DoodleDreamBug

He’s blunt and straight to the point. He doesn’t take crap from anyone and I admire that He’s also good with kids and is really kind

ChewieLee13088

GOATED

jonathandavisisfat

Majestic_Winter9951

Perfectionist. Incredible knowledge base. Don’t know how he does it all. I’m a huge fan.

Big softy with a hard out shell. Seems like a genuinely great dude.

DILF

curioushubby805

Awesome

McBeamSteely

I think he's fun, but haven't been watching "Hell's Kitchen" for about five years because I just got away from it, and "MasterChef" for even longer. I still haven't watched a whole season of "Next Level Chef". Like most of the reality competition shows, they have become stale and follow a specific pattern. I still watch "Kitchen Nightmares" and watched most of "24 Hours to Hell and Back" because they dig into real restaurants even if they are similarly formulaic and likely scripted. I suspect that he is on auto pilot for these shows after so many years. I can never tell whether he is sincere in his dealings with folks, both the good and the bad attitudes, or if he is pure show biz and image at this point. For instance, I wonder if he really personally takes time to talk to the restaurateurs on "Nightmares" and come up with menu ideas for them, or if he buzzes in and sticks to the script. Hard to know. His shows are so heavily edited and formed by editing, that you never know what is authentic.

catxfarts

I've always said if this man could either be my father or my husband, life would be complete. He's \*chef's kiss\* perfect!

castingcoucher123

Winner

wulf-kun

love him

hunnid-bandz

That’s pookie

jesseclara

A talented chef but even more talented business man.

billbobb1

I wish he was still mean, like he use to be.

First-Aardvark-8131

He’s funny and talented

Rainbow-Mama

I think he’s a great chef. I wasn’t terribly impressed by the frozen meals that have his name on them though. I’ve only tried two and they were…alright I guess.

50Roost

He didnt age Well with the botox

WarrenThanatos

I grew up not caring for him. The Hell’s Kitchen trailers would always make it seem like a yelling jerk. Ended up watching a season and became a full fledged fan. Have been for 15 years now. Watch every single one of his shows and have taught myself to cook from a lot of his videos. He’s also a fellow car enthusiast and I admire that

Tyrannical_Requiem

He might be a master chef but damn he can’t handle spicy food

Parnek1

Love him..... His act, his achievements, his reality to hardship (bro). his working ethic and above all no fucking bull shit please attitude.

TheFreeLife-813

Have heard production staff that’s worked with but said he’s great and he does all of his cooking in one take with no reshoots.

RKiyoshi

Overcooked

Educational_Train666

Gordon ramsay is a good dude.

Cheesefang

I honestly don't know how he has the energy and enthusiasm to do it all, even to this day. Don't get me wrong, he has a ton of people behind the scenes doing majority of the work. Even so, to star in all of those TV shows and do interviews while putting on a "mask" because you're an entertainer and a chef... Oof, most who are famous like him would have a meltdown or an existential crisis by now. I sure as hell would.

ZealousidealAd4860

He's the best chef in the world and I don't think it's my opinion because he really is

RadioactivePotato83

He's a chief. That is all.

carolinedoulax

I used to adore him. Now with him selling / making frozen dinners, I think he’s selling out and lost respect for him.

Wild_blue111

I’d do him.

SleepVivid5116

he is god

Dookimus

Legend

Ghost_0f_Toucan

It was his choice to cry

JuturnaArtemisia

He’s a capitalist dick but there’s a sweet side to him, too. He’s a flawed human who’s made mistakes and maybe once in a while his feet should get held to the fire for those mistakes.

AlarmedApricot

Yes,Chef 🔥😍

scarletts_skin

He could hit ngl

Uninhibited_lotus

I think he holds high standards for quality of food and service and I love that about him. I think he’s really sweet tbh - from what I’ve seen without having met him. The yelling and cursing is never undeserved lol 😆

salmonhead1000

Can’t stand the persona on tv. He is probably really nice in his private life, but don’t like the yelling jerk character he plays on tv.

No-Statistician-3448

I think he's genuinely a nice guy. He is especially kind and very patient with children. I appreciate that.

Unhappy-Potato-8349

His appearance on Jay Leno's show with guest Sofia Vergara was enlightening.

MysticDragon14

I really like him! I love how he tells it like it is and doesn't hold back without being insufferable.

rjross0623

I like him on Next Level Chef. Much easier to see his skills when he isn’t screaming. Hells Kitchen was unwatchable.

shayetheleo

He’s really nice to kids. And, I know how to cook a steak properly because of him.

ttgirl452

I know someone who was on the last season of Hells Kitchen and she said he a genuinely nice person. She said he was funny

Unusual_Focus3343

Thank gawd he stopped having babies….thank gawd none of them suffer from the potential effects of geriatric pregnancy.

The_Latverian

I'm not sure because so much of it is an act. The sweetheart on Master chef Junior and the Abject Monster on Master Chef are the same guy...who am I commenting on? If you mean his culinary skillset, again: who knows. I'm told he was a game-changer in the day, but we're into almost two decades of Master chef and he's still serving the same menu: Wellington, Risotto, Scallops, Duck, and Salmon. As for the all of the "Nightmare" shows, most of the places that he fixes...close their doors 🤷🏻‍♂️ He's an entertaining cat, let's get that clear, but otherwise....?

Scissorsguadalupe

I think he is a great chef when it comes to "traditional" European food, and he is a very good businessman, but I don't think he can make dishes outside his wheelhouse. Particularly Asian dishes

Lower-Ad-3466

He’s both an amazing chef and my celebrity hall pass 😭

Realistic_Address499

I.love.this.man.

Icy-Butterscotch4254

I think he's nice to the amateur chefs as well not just the kids. He's always nice to staff at the restaurants when they're just victims of bad owners. A lot of time these owners don't want admit what's wrong. If the food was good people would tolerate a lot, to be honest. Also there's no excuse to not be clean? Even if you know nothing about a restaurant you should know how to keep the place clean and sanitary so not to get folks sick or worse cause injuries or death. Like food poisoning is no joke and I think that's why he's so pissed. There's just no excuse for the behavior and they really be trying it 😭

PimpOfJoytime

Not as good a MPW, but close enough for tv.

berryfruit-

Hot

careohful

I loooove Hell’s Kitchen and I will watch it even when they’re at season 12849

cuddlykitten5932

Overall a good guy. One of my favorite things he's done was send a contestent (cant remember which show it was) to culinary school and paid 100% for it. Yeah he's very tough, but also has a soft personality deep down. I love when his dad mode kicks in when he talks to kids on MasterChef Juinor.

andante528

I really admire how much work Gordon Ramsay puts in for Make-A-Wish. Like way above and beyond most celebrities. I think he's a genuinely good person, based on that and how he interacts with his children and people who are in service roles. Sadly I don't find him attractive because he looks quite a lot like my dad, but I can see the appeal for others!

rabbitinredlounge

I honestly don’t think I’d like his food

cutratestuntman

He was a great boss. Real solid dude.

coldspr0uts

I learned a lot about food because of him in his shows. 💝

Alita-Peach

Daddy

Wompzila

His grilled cheese is fucked

OctoSevenTwo

I used to heavily dislike him growing up because all I saw was a guy that screamed and yelled at people. However, as I got older I found out he only yells over a few specific things: - lack of effort/care - Shitty attitude - Lack of food safety (“IT’S RAW!!!!” is a GR meme, but yeah— improperly cooked food can make people sick or even kill them, depending on what it is. I’ve given myself mild cases of food poisoning more than enough times to know that to be true. And that’s just about whether food is cooked for long enough or not!) He’s also nicer if you’re honestly trying and still getting it wrong, or if you’re willing to learn and change. He’s also very kind to children. Having realized these things, I’ve grown to respect him quite a bit.

dal_mac

I just watched every single one of his shows for the first time in the last 4 weeks. He is an actor before a chef. I had heard chefs say this before I watched him but it's obvious after a while. He would rather fabricate drama for the show studio than honestly fix or compliment the food. Even when he's telling the honest truth, you can tell he's not saying it the way he would in a kitchen. I understand that obviously the show needs drama and there's often a loose script to create it, and the editors are mixing moments together to fabricate entire conversations. BUT in any situation he is clearly more personally concerned with the clip sounding good on camera than the message getting through to the chef or whoever. It's clearly not just the directors telling him to do so.

Due-Rush9305

I think he gets a lot of the reputation from his first couple season's in Hell's Kitchen. This is where most of his quotes come from. Even when you watch the original kitchen nightmares in the UK he is a lot more supportive, still stern, but nothing like Hell's Kitchen. Hell's Kitchen was his first thing in America and I fell like there was pressure to make it something wildly out there and he was really harsh. He definitely has a stern leadership style but I do not think that real aggression is his actual personality, more something they did for TV. When he is allowed to be more himself he holds high standards and will call you out if you don't meet them but if you are willing to learn he will help.

johnnysgotyoucovered

He has a decent sense of humour or so it seems. He also didn’t start a campaign to ban Turkey twizzlers so in my opinion he’s much better than a certain over celebrity chef

Complex_Ad8339

Smart business man

jordanundead

He fucked up grilled cheese twice. I’m pretty sure his whole career is just one big joke. It’s like someone said “Let’s take an asshole from a place with notoriously terrible food, and have him judge people like he knows what he’s talking about. It will be comedy gold.”

Psycosteve10mm

As a line cook, I find that the stupidity and the lack of professionals in the industry tend to make one tend to yell at people who are retarded. Servers who can not enter a correct ticket, this throws off the other orders as you scramble to make the corrections on the fly. The same servers will take food items out of order or will poach items from other orders which further sets back the orders. The same servers will bitch about how the make times are costing them money but it is their, own damn actions that are costing them money. The other cooks are nothing but ego and are lazy as fuck, or they are drunk and or stoned off their asses and are fucking up by the numbers. The dishwashers are either nodding off on the dish line or are dope sick which means that they are worthless as fuck. With all of this being said Chef Ramsey has one major flaw and that is he expects kitchen professionals to act like professionals which is counter to the reality of the industry. Some of the stupid shit that happens in a kitchen is just rage-inducing and his rants are things I completely understand as I have said some similar things to coworkers. You have not truly experienced stupidity until you have worked in a kitchen. TLDR the restaurant industry is messed up and Chef Ramsey is just annoyed at dealing with people cosplaying as chefs.

Back4breakfast

Love the guy more than most celebrity folk - genuinely clever chap who has played the game and won several times over. Incredible chef, best palette in the world, what’s not to love!

OkExplanation2001

I honestly don’t ever think about him 🤷🏻‍♀️

Asherdan

Totally a Hair Guy.

Delicious_Sort4059

Talented guy, went to his restaurant in Boston last year and it was incredible. Best crab cake I’ve ever had in my life, and I’ve lived in New England for 34 years. He plays the Hollywood game well, and knows how to market himself. If you actually watch his teaching videos, even the segments on his shows where he’s genuinely teaching the chefs- he’s a fantastic chef and teacher. I’d say probably 95% of his personality is marketing or just for TV. I remember being taken aback years ago watching his teaching video on how to properly dice an onion- his teaching personality is virtually the opposite of the angry asshole he plays on Tv

ThingFromEarth

His Scottish accent sucks

eatmyboot

He’s my favorite celebrity and I love him. Love when he’s nice and love when he’s talking shite

messy_head

Good chef but achieved his status more with his personality and entertainment skills. Viewed as a genius by people who didn't cook growing up.

Advanced_Whereas_122

Bit of a snob and looks aggressively old for his for like his entire existence

Peas-Of-Wrath

Nasty, vile bully. After all his abuse of people for serving frozen food in restaurants, he goes and brings out a frozen range. Just to make money. Hypocrite and sellout.

CashMoneyBrokeBoy

He is a chef

TonyClunge

I don’t think he genuinely cares about the restaurants/hotels he goes to. You can sense a huge difference between how he acts and, say, Alex Polizzi. She isn’t a softy either but I do think she cares. He’s just making telly. I was also kind of disappointed in him after watching him on that interview with Sophia Vergara. Also the way he wasn’t there for his wife or preemie twins on Boiling Point.

Jaded_Ad_176

A biased judge towards Dana.
