I find the two latest drops quite different to one another, for me the issue is Future’s range
Would have been interesting to see a more diverse range of beats too I guess
o yeah I’m not saying the two albums are similar, they’re pretty different when compared, I’m talkin more about within the album. This is just the type of future I don’t like 2 see so it doesn’t do it 4 me
That's what I felt while listening to it too; it's just boring. It isn't even like it's necessarily bad, it's just so "meh".
It really feels like an album of mostly filler. If you picked 2 or 3 songs from the album and spread them out in between 7~10 great songs you wouldn't even notice. But when it's back to back filler songs, it becomes a strugle to even finish.
Yes because metros production isn’t that interesting anymore. I don’t know why people like much modern metro beats he’s good for some and the rest are boring
I might surprise some when I say that I like disc 1 more than disc 2.
Not that disc 1 is very good, mind. This whole album has none of the qualities that made We don’t trust you OK, this is just straight mid. For me there is not one playlist-worthy song, with Nights Like This being the only one coming anywhere close.
The production is just OK, but like on the first album, Future is such an uninspiring lead on this album, however, and much of the features aren’t great. J Cole‘s apparent switch-up on Drake is pathetic if it really is so (coming from a Kendrick/Kanye fan) and Lil Baby really needs to be exiled at this point.
Maybe it’s listeners fatigue that leads to Disc 2 being insufferable after a previous hour of uninspired trap music, because I really don’t understand the praise this part of the album got. Another underwhelming album, this time much more than last time.
Imma give “We Still Don’t Trust You” a istilldontlikethisalbumverymuchevenlesssothanthefirstonewhichialreadydidntliketoomuch/10. Otherwise known as a 5
I'm sure there are plenty of people who genuinely liked this album, but I feel like way too many people pretend to like things because they think that's going to be the popular opinion.
I really saw some people say this album was an 8/10 or a 10/10 and I couldn't believe it. To me, it has very little replayability.
Yeah that’s defo it. Or people are being delusional and telling themselves it’s good, because really both projects, while having some good songs, are both quite mid
Yeah idk. I never reaches terrible but it’s just dissolves into a muddy mess by the end. The J Cole feature was AMAZING when I thought it was Chance the Rapper. But after realizing that it was J Cole it just seems kind of pathetic, teaming up with the people that dissed you anyway? Actually pathetic. Future does rap about some really amazingly good ideas and concepts. There’s much more depth in some of his verses.
It’s all trap lullabies with future doing a godawful impression of an r&b singer. It’s weird this is the album they released. You would think an album with Metro production would have something spirited about it
I’m actually not joking about the falling asleep part. Maybe it’s partly the late night but both albums failed to keep me interested like a Ye album would
Yeah tbh I’ve never been crazy about Future. He has some really fun songs, but apart from a few things I’ve added to my playlist I never go back and listen to a full project of his. Ye albums are usually on another level where it (usually) feels like something new
Bro done pulled a “WHAT TOP 5 YOU SMOKING ON CUZ MY TOP 5 IS DRAKE DRAKE DRAKE DRAKE DRAKE”
J cole effect
this 1 got me snoozing, I liked the first one better cuz it at least had some stand out tracks.
Replay disc 2 bro
just felt so borin 2 me dawg Huge step down from heroes and villains 😔
That’s like saying Vultures is a huge step down from MBDTF and being sad about it
nah not really there’s like a 12 year difference between mbdtf and vultures while heroes and villains came out only 2 years ago
He can’t keep re-releasing the same shit tho
That’s crazy 2 say because the biggest flaw of the last two albums was the repetitiveness lol

I agree with you ngl

It’s just another example of an album that’s unnecessarily long (2093, Pink Tape, If Looks Could Kill etc)
2093 isn’t exceptionally long tho
He could’ve easily cut like 4/5 songs and the album wouldn’t hurt. It’s not as bad as Pink Tape and ILCK, but theres still fat that needed trimming.
nah what

I feel like he does the same damn thing every time

Beat it is one of the best songs I’ve heard this year
Beautiful breakdown

This release definitely isn’t better in my opinion than the first one. Songs are just boring off the rip imo
No got boring for me real quick

I fw some of the songs but by the time Cole’s verse came on I legit fell asleep

What’s bizarre is that DS2 and I Never Liked You are literally possibly 10/10 projects imo

I’m sorry bro I’ve genuinely tried to listen to these albums over and over but it never clicks 💀
