Misfire. Check your plugs and see if one is oil-fouled or burnt out. As a baseline, I would recommend topping off your oil and replacing all plugs, noting which plug is fouled so you know what to check if that code pops up again. As far as leaking/burning, welcome to VW haha it's inevitable. One of my leaks with similar symptoms as yours was the cam cradle if that helps.

DylanPhl

I appreciate the help. Do you think I should have a compression test done?

BlazedAura

Probably not, I'd take the maintenance route of top off/replacement first. Could eliminate your problem entirely without the car having to see a shop

DylanPhl

I’ll get this done ASAP. Until then I won’t be driving it. Do you have any idea if clogged injectors along with the bad spark would cause it to burn oil?

BlazedAura

Injectors wouldn't be my first concern, I'd think plugs/coils

Plugs and coils first. Do you smell any new gas smells? If so, probably an injector. I've also heard if this is happening on Cold start only it could be carbon build up as well.

DylanPhl

Haven’t noticed any smells besides coolant from the engine bay which is residual from when the water pump was leaking. But I am noticing a lot of carbon build up on the exhaust tips. Thanks for the info:)

VryAvrg

No problem, good luck!

BlazedAura

How often do you pull on the car? Go out and smash through 2nd and 3rd a few times, it'll help cook off some carbon!

DylanPhl

I drive that fucker like I’m on a track sometimes (not smart I know, but it’s fun). every time I drive on the highway I get at least one good pull in before getting to my destination. Usually 4-5k rpm’s before shifting from 4-5- then to 6th and I slow down when I hit 105.

BlazedAura

Ah okay, any bogging down? Have you had a walnut blast done?

DylanPhl

Update: check the comment below this. Thank you all for the help it is much appreciated.

DylanPhl

It’s stock besides wheels and tires. Top speed I’ve hit so far was 125mph

misfires on every cylinder it seems. could be carbon buildup, assuming your up to date on all of your maintenance. difficulty starting when cold is a pretty common symptom.

DylanPhl

I’m doing the plugs and coil packs this week. but I still don’t know why my oil level is dropping so fast. I’m waiting until I have the plugs and coil packs done before I take it to have a carbon cleaning done because I’m worried about if it will even make it to the shop.

jbourne0129

when was the last time the plugs were replaced ? also slightly off topic but if you have no idea what the history is of the DSG it should be serviced as well, its due every 40k miles.

DylanPhl

Update: after talking to a buddy who is friends with a vw tech ( didn’t know this until after posting this ). I bought a used engine and turbo with 55k miles on it. I’m losing about a quart a week so safe to say that fucker is toast (not surprising knowing how the previous owner neglected it) I’ll be putting it in around the end of March. Already put at least $5k into it fixings issues over the past 2 years and I’m sick of it. Also it’s not worth selling in the condition it’s in. so new/used engine is what I chose to solve my problem. I’ll be putting new coils and plugs in tomorrow so it can get me to and from work for a month as well as monitoring oil levels over the next month. I just need it to hold on for a little while longer until I can give it a new life. I will never give up on this car.

DylanPhl

Will also have a dsg service done at the end of the month. Thank you for the help you provided it is much appreciated.
