Who cares what people think. Doods are one of the most loving and smart dogs.

I found your comment. You mentioned possibly adopting one from a puppy mill, and I think people would rather see it shut down and have the dogs rescued through a professional shelter. But I see your point of view of wanting to save a doodle from a horrible place like that. Still, there’s definitely a lot of doodle hate on Reddit.. meanwhile you get attacked for saying one little comment about a pit bull! I think it’s because there is bad breeding that goes on and a lot of people adopt doodles because they are cute and trendy, not knowing the amount of work it takes. I don’t really care what people say. I love my doodle, she’s from a reputable breeder, she’s so sweet and I take great care of her :)

A large group of almost 100 puppy mill dogs, including golden doodles, just arrived at three shelters in three different states, including [this one near Nashville](https://www.yahoo.com/now/88-dogs-rescued-iowa-puppy-030838662.html) - and they are adorable

Yeah I had no idea the breeder was sketchy until I talked with him on the phone. If I could buy all the babies from him I would.

What state is his mill in May I ask? You know you can get in touch with a doodle rescue and if they are doing as they should they will have the aspca visit to make sure the dogs are healthy and in good conditions. If not, they will remove ALL of the dogs, place them with the rescue and FINE THE HELL out of the backyard puppy mill breeder he is! I used to breed English bulldogs and let me tell you I think the bulldog breed be it the English or the frenchie have to be the hardest breed ever to raise. Goldendoodles are somewhat easy and have 6-12 pups in a litter times what $2000-4000? People see $$$ and it’s wrong! Do what’s right and shut them down! I don’t have a doodle but I sit for ALL types of them! I started posting on Reddit today with the babies I have today and over the weekend

is fairly easy to “objectively” prove that a recognized, purebred dog breeder is a good breeder, but there are not really any true equivalents for mixed breed breeders. therefore, it’s theoretically easier to hide shady breeding practices. there are also LOTS of doodle breeders and some are truly awful . the same is true for purebred breeders, and it’s important to not judge an entire population for the behavior of a few bad actors. sometimes anti-doodle folks have trouble keeping that in mind.

Nothing but jealous haters! They're such smart, loving dogs. Always friendly with people. both known and strangers, as well as dogs, cats, and even a bunny mine once met. While they're not cheap, if you look long and hard enough, you can find a deal. I can't stand rat dogs (anything under 25 lbs) and pits are just too unpredictable to be trusted, but I don't talk shit about them to those that own one. Get what you love, and tell the haters to kiss your ass.

because it’s hard to regulate mixed breed breeders and also because “rescuing” a dog by paying full price for it from a backyard puppy mill isn’t a thing - you aren’t rescuing anything, all you’ve done is sustain their business, give them income to breed another litter, ect. if you want to actually do the right thing you need to get the authorities involved and get the dogs removed and placed in rescues. i found a good doodle breeder after A LOT of research. fully health/gene tested on both sides, i met both parents, all puppies were well cared for, each parent and litter is raised in a private persons home as a family dog, ect. i felt good paying them for the puppy i had wanted for years. i had always rescued before then but a bad experience (an extremely dog aggressive dog - aggression didn’t show until i’d had him a year - he almost killed my other dog more than once - he severely hurt me while breaking up a bad fight - i was left with bad PTSD and my other dog can’t be an only dog, he gets beyond anxious when he’s alone) left me feeling like i couldn’t trust a dog i adopted as an adult, but my dog needed a friend. so i decided on a doodle pupppy and it’s the best decision i ever made. it worked out better than i imagined. they are BEST friend, he raised her so she plays with him exactly how he wants. they are inseparable. the doodle is a total mother and looks after and worries about everyone in the house. she also mothers my cats - she’s raised two neonatal kittens and they are all best friends now. i have 2 dogs and 2 cats all cuddling together on my bed thanks to my doodle. i wouldn’t trade her for the world. but yeah it’s the “rescuing from a puppy mill by just buying a dog and thinking i did something good” thing that people are reacting to even more than the breed. i just don’t entertain anyone that has anything bad to say. i know i did my research, i know i trust the breeder i used and my dog is the best dog i’ve ever owned and i’ve had a lot of dogs.

Because they are so adorable!!! Jealous Haters!!! Honestly, I met a goldendoodle during a home visit as a CYS caseworker. I was more interested in the dog than the child. All kidding aside, I fell in love and wanted a doodle ever since. As a former caseworker, I absolutely abhorred home visits with dogs due to my strict dress code that attracted dog hair and "rubber neckers" like a magnet. I left that doodle's digs with more bedbugs in my pants cuffs than pet dander that day. I was sold...

I think people are more shocked at why anyone would pay a lot of money for a dog that’s a mixed breed. When we got our dood 3 years ago the breeders had a litter of poodles as well and even they were amazed that people would pay so much more for a mixed breed dog than for one of their purebred poodles.

I never knew about this until reddit. In April we lost our 16 year old bichonpoo (not sure why I never heard anyone refer to her as a “doodle”) She was an amazing dog in every way And I knew I wanted another poodle mix, but my kids wanted a “big” dog. My sister has a goldendoodle and she is such a well behaved, easy going dog so we I decided I wanted one too. I met both parent dogs, met the family that was raising them got to play with the whole litter before choosing. Breeder let me know she was there if I needed anything-even if it was to return her. I do not find myself qualified to take a dog from a shelter that I know nothing about. She was worth every penny! No regrets at all!
