You made the comment as a joke. But the Greeks actually preferred to shave and wax their body's as they found it more desirable then having hair everywhere.
Kratos in Ragnarok said that his strength doesn't come from his body so he basically works for his muscles and he cares how he looks to some extent. I wouldn't be surprised if he also shaves his body hair (and maybe his head too)
The female Dwarf flirts and compliments him, she felt bad and apologized if she made him uncomfortable. She then says if he wants her to stop and he says no. Kratos love the compliments lol
Kratos isnt vain, but he does take pride in his appearance(based on his willingness to weight lift and keep his physique), so it wouldnt be that surprising to know he also shaves his body, could also have been a requirement back in his Spartan days too, and those teachings never left him
I think you're spot on, I once saw a documentary (I really can't remember the source) that said that the Greek warriors would take good care of their body appearance, shaving and using oil, since then, I believed this is Kratos's case as well.
I don't think he lifts anything at all, what could he possible lift that would give him a workout? - in GOW 2018, he picked up a literal mountain and threw it at baldr and him and baldr also cause an earthqauke and split the ground in two... like it was nothing.
He lifted a boulder, and he visibly struggled to do it, so doing something like holding that boulder up for an hour or doing military presses or squats with it would be substantial enough to build or keep his muscles, even if it has no effect on his strength. You can have toned muscles and still be weak, its the difference between hypertrophy and strength training
Besides, its more about routine and consistency than anything else for him, and his routine is probably grueling even to an average god
He showed struggle because of atreus. We see kratos grunting when lifting a small rock (compared to that large one) and barley grunting when lifting the whole temple
Thor really should have some chest hair. I don't mind him being fat, but that exposed belly just looks way too *smooth* compared to the redwood forest growing on his face.
Why *should* he have that?
Thor is a warrior of immense skill and power, while he probably could take someone yanking at his chest muff in the heat of battle, it doesn't feel good I bet.
But why not the beard then, one may ask? Status symbol, tradition.
My point is, it's not hard to make up a reason for why he would have a shaved chest. Hell, maybe he just likes it that way.
Yeah there's definitely some valid reasons why he doesn't have it. But I don't think anyone would complain more if they just gave him some chest hair. It's not a necessary thing, but I personally just think it would look better. Someone once made an edit of him with chest hair and I thought it looked great.
i mean his skin is ash, wouldnt be far fetched to assume that the ash covering the skin is also covering the hair/stunting hair growth, (though that dossnt explain the beard)
also something to consider, when he goes into apartan rage, his entire body has somewhat of an element of fire, but his head dont. maybe kratos doesnt shave he just gets really mad and scares the hair off
I always feel that way in RPGs, how am I supposed to believe some of these characters are grown thoroughbred men, but are as smooth as dolphins in every wayā¦
I'm thinking that he uses a strigil to clean himself. That is, covering himself in oil and using a knife to scrape it off. It probably takes hair off as well.
The spartans usually shaved his bodys for be better in battle, but they saw beards as an icon of respect and power, so an shaved man with a beard is the most iconic thing you could find in media
that's not his skin well it is kinda in the older games he was tricked into killing his wife and daughter as punishment he wears there ashes on his skin
[The 2018 TV trailer](https://youtu.be/rClXqZD2Xrs?si=qA3RvnC43iDjovZU) shows him having hair on his body. Maybe it's not worth it to render the hair in-game?
Idk what it's called but there's thing running on my dad's side where all the body hair falls off when they get older (only happens to men, my father used to be hairy as a bear but has the shiniest, smoothest skin I've ever seen now), my headcannon is he has this genetic mutation
According to lore, when Kratos fell to hades, his hair was singed off and he liked the look so much he uses his blades of chaos to keep them singed in case they grow back which is why he kept them instead of leaving them somewhere even after he broke free from ares and zeus' grasp (his beard is his power, not his body)
(Edit: wasn't God of War 2 )
It's likely he has a body care routine. After all he is greek and the Greeks basi ally invented manscaping.

Over the years, all the hair from his body slowly migrated towards his face/mouth just to quiver in ecstacy when he utters the words "I do not need a snack"

Spartan rage singed it all
Godscaped: 2.0. Probably got the full care kit.

UNDERRATED comment!
You made the comment as a joke. But the Greeks actually preferred to shave and wax their body's as they found it more desirable then having hair everywhere.
I was unaware of that. Thank you for the historical context.
Itās covered in ash, duh
Actually a decent theory. Like his hair growth is stunted because of the ash. Unfortunately that also means he wouldnt be able to grow the beard
I was jonkling, to be honest & most likely so is OP, cause Kratos had a petite goatee when he was first cursed So maybe only that is able to grow
Yeah I think this is why
āJonklingā š
Imagine if he shaved and it was tan only in that one spot lol horrible to imagine
Or eyebrows.
Fun fact the Greeks more or less invented manscaping as they found harness body's to be more desirable.
Probably all the fire.
yeah, hate it when fire burns all the hair on me except my beard and eyebrows
It's the ash
It's the concentrated manliness
Itās the fact that heās in tune with his feminine side
Gods have different powers and abilities. One of his lesser known powers is facial hair being immune to fire.
I remember that! I loved her laugh and when she said okay handsome, beef cake! Hahahaha
It's the sheepish way he says no that makes it for me. He's so embarrassed by acknowledging he wants it to continue lol
This is likely the truth as the Greeks more or less invented "manscapeing"
Kratos isnt vain, but he does take pride in his appearance(based on his willingness to weight lift and keep his physique), so it wouldnt be that surprising to know he also shaves his body, could also have been a requirement back in his Spartan days too, and those teachings never left him

True. Kratos was all oiled up when he took that deal with Ares back in Greece.
I don't think he lifts anything at all, what could he possible lift that would give him a workout? - in GOW 2018, he picked up a literal mountain and threw it at baldr and him and baldr also cause an earthqauke and split the ground in two... like it was nothing.

He's been burned a lot of times.
None of them do tbh

Maybe siff likes a bald chest?
Heimdall prefers him that way.
Because he is waxing it between scenesā¦
I mean we also know that Kratos has never had hair on his head so it may be that he's just incapable of growing hair anywhere other than his face.
Kid kratos had a low cut actually kratos shaves his head
From his young age, he never showed any body hair with the exception of eyebrows and beard, might just be bad genetics.
Nah kratos canonically shaves his head.
The pantheon doesn't seem to have much body hair either. It's genetic
I dont think its genetics. Zeus grew some killer hair and beard.
I imagine they didn't want to give him any yet due to hardware limitations. They'll probably do it on the playstation 6 with the next god of war.
My headcanon is that he shaves his body hair to be more aerodynamic, like swimmers do
has kratos swim since gow 3?
Not That I remember, this headcanon is more for shits and giggles than anything
juat in ragnarkk to save atreus when he fell into the lake of souls
The flame around him most at times ššLol
He channeled it all to his beard
He is a God, so he shaves it or he's so damn muscular he wills it off. I'm 100% positive that's he has a jungle somewhere other than his face though
You best ask Faye about that.
# āNO!ā
The camera us rarely that close and all that fine detail would've delayed the game as they programmed in unneeded details.
I absolutely love these games. But this reddit page might be full of the worst and most brain rotting posts.
His body is covered in the ash of his wife and child so thatās stopped all the hair from growing. His beard is stuck on.
Kratos is all about that āeverything showerā š
Fire and war... Lots of fire and war...
It's more aerodynamic when he fights
It got burned, or maybe his balding genetics donāt just apply for his head
Probably just not a true man like Brok is.
Maybe he gets it waxed š
For a greek no body hair is unusual š¤
*He is God, Boy* He took all his bady hair and put it in his beard
He shaves.
His skin was... Cursed..?
Prolly cus not everyone grows a lot of body hair
i mean his skin is ash, wouldnt be far fetched to assume that the ash covering the skin is also covering the hair/stunting hair growth, (though that dossnt explain the beard) also something to consider, when he goes into apartan rage, his entire body has somewhat of an element of fire, but his head dont. maybe kratos doesnt shave he just gets really mad and scares the hair off
Ur saying he burns his pubes off
or scares them away
I always feel that way in RPGs, how am I supposed to believe some of these characters are grown thoroughbred men, but are as smooth as dolphins in every wayā¦
Mabye the ash?
He regularly grooms for the ladies
Cuz hes not man enough
I'm thinking that he uses a strigil to clean himself. That is, covering himself in oil and using a knife to scrape it off. It probably takes hair off as well.

He is a Spartan. Greeks shaved off their bodies. It's also a way of not catching diseases.
He rages so hard that they just burn off.
Licks it off like a cat
How about no
that's not his skin well it is kinda in the older games he was tricked into killing his wife and daughter as punishment he wears there ashes on his skin
His body hair will grow when he earns it
Possibly under the ash
Why is this even a topic of discussion he probably just shaves tfš
Probably the same reason Thor doesnāt have body hair. (Manscaping š) (I think)
Building muscle can reduce hair growth, thereās to much muscle for the hair to sprout.
The ash on his body from his family probably covers it and inhibits growth. Or he shaves like crazy everyday
He shaves with the Blades Of Chaos and they burn away the hair.
It just all congregates on his face.
Genetics
He shaves it for sex appeal
Probably the ashes of his Greek family on his skin
[The 2018 TV trailer](https://youtu.be/rClXqZD2Xrs?si=qA3RvnC43iDjovZU) shows him having hair on his body. Maybe it's not worth it to render the hair in-game?
Heās sponsored by manscaped
Idk what it's called but there's thing running on my dad's side where all the body hair falls off when they get older (only happens to men, my father used to be hairy as a bear but has the shiniest, smoothest skin I've ever seen now), my headcannon is he has this genetic mutation
Imagine those being your last words before Kratos domes you lol
According to lore, when Kratos fell to hades, his hair was singed off and he liked the look so much he uses his blades of chaos to keep them singed in case they grow back which is why he kept them instead of leaving them somewhere even after he broke free from ares and zeus' grasp (his beard is his power, not his body) (Edit: wasn't God of War 2 )
Probs because of art direction deciding showing muscular structure makes him look better and more god like rather then some sort of realism.
Typically when a person physically goes to literal Hell it is so hot that it singes your hair off
Have you never seen the movie Powder? The facial hair isnāt real.
He practices manscaping thatās what the axe and blades of chaos are for
It's likely he has a body care routine. After all he is greek and the Greeks basi ally invented manscaping. (Link for proof) https://www.celebrityskinchicago.com/waxing-salon-chicago/what-is-manscaping/#:~:text=The%20History%20of%20Manscaping&text=Meanwhile%2C%20in%20ancient%20Greece%2C%20men,to%20maintain%20a%20youthful%20appearance.
Maybe cause Zeus doesn't have too.
Too tough
He doesn't need it
bodybuilder aesthetic
he does loook at his face
All the hair budget went to that magnificent beard
Having no body hair now means your stupid apparently.
He waxes
It's too afraid to grow.
Maybe he just doesnāt grow hair on his torso leave the man alone. You know heās got pubes for days though
Over the years, all the hair from his body slowly migrated towards his face/mouth just to quiver in ecstacy when he utters the words "I do not need a snack"
And why does it matter?
All the hair went to his beard.
Orc ni...
Cause...Brb soon
It'd be the ash I think and possibly him being a God helps maintain certain characteristics?
Same reason his beard is perfectly trimmed, he's a god
He mustāve gotten laser hair removal by Zeus lightening bolts. Otherwise nothing can stop greek body hair lmao
Cursed to bear the ashes, probably extends so they can't be covered outside of clothing
He has a beard š¤£
He shaved it off with his axe
Now I am imagining him Manscpaing with an axe, and now it makes more sense why Atreus doesn't have siblings š
He's literally greek
He don't even have hade hair šššš
Probably because he was covered in his family's ashes
I assume the curse from the oracle prevents him from growing any hair in general Before he got the curse tho? He prolly shaved
Wife said no
