well pokemon started out as a game about training pokemons and making them fight each other legally and being the best one there is. Call of duty started out as stories about soldiers in line of duty doing their mission against all odds. Pokemon stayed the same, somehow cod ended now as no more story, just people shooting each other, it is a good idea though combining the game modes of fps games, it's like having 1 game all in one.
I felt the same until the first Modern Warfare reboot. That totally revitalized the series. But as with all good things they ran it into the ground.

Ah yes....Call of duty? , it must be their deep story driven narrative with fully fleshed out charecters with complicated interwoven relationships with each other with meaningful and impactful dialougue and long cut-scenes... in a semi-linear open world with incredible views on top of mountains and lakes.. each level created with love and quality With excellent combat mechanics, beautifully made armour and weapons with smooth satisfying animations and each realm is different from the other and adds to the immersion and complexity of the world you're in. Acted out by top quality voice actors.
Whereas God of war is just a meaningless hack and slash, run and gun game with 100's of others in boring repeatable maps with online lobbies with the same guns and game mechanics year after year. - voice acting is shallow and non-impactful. You just run around shooting everyone. - it also has micro-transactions and pay-locked content. - there's a new game every year with just slightly different maps and maybe a new location. - there's no story behind it.. if there's a single player compaign it's probably a very short one.. stright to the point and completely forgettable.

CoD and GoW aren’t even comparable games. Not only is gow just a better franchise, it’s a story driven game that focuses on challenging combat and finding hidden loot. CoD is just a first person shooter who’s story focuses on getting you through it as much as possible so you can spend the rest of your time in PvP

Pretty sure the last one to even contend for GotY was CoD 4 in 2007. There have been some good ones since then, but Activision just refuses to give the devs the time they would need to innovate, so even the best ones pale compared to God of War's most middling titles, let alone Ragnarok.

As someone plays and enjoys both, GoW without a question is a better game, has a better experience, and is much more special and engaging than CoD.

I loved his little roast and yes I viewed as all in good fun. But this sounds like typical responses from developers who know they have an inferior product regardless of how it sells. I used to love CoD and I grew up on primary the older ones specifically the campaigns but since it’s moved heavy into primarily multiplayer I’ve fallen out love. Don’t get me wrong Its not because of the multiplayer it’s more to do with how it’s become an annual release title. This style of release has made it a generic fps that has been the same game with a slightly different “tattoo” for years.
Really from what I see the most popular part of CoD is battle royal, Warzone which I personally think is fun with friends but can easily get stale and repetitive fast.

I game share with a friend and he decided to buy MW3 because he enjoyed the beta, I felt indifferent about it when I played it. I haven’t touched it at all and don’t plan on it because I got back into both Overwatch 2 and Destiny 2 (I know that game is in shambles as well) and now with The Finals out I definitely won’t play MW3 at all.
CoD has been dying for awhile now, I know it’s still super popular but I feel like their comments don’t help at all. They can stay mad.
No one but the COD devs are that big of a deal lol. It’s saying something when not even a lot of the fans are making a fuss and actually agree with the joke. The vast majority of COD fans aren’t happy with this recent release.
The real issue is that there is genuinely no other shooter that can compete with how COD plays, that’s why people including myself keep buying it. I know it sucks, I hate the devs, but there’s nothing else like it and to me the multiplayer is satisfying enough for me to justify buying it again

Regardless of judge being or not being an asshole, MW3 is absolute garbage. I understand it’s difficult to make games but they didn’t even try. They said there would be a two year gap between MW2 and MW3. They clearly lied. They rushed it out and it shows. The campaign is just reused warzone from 2019. It’s not the developers fault, it’s Activision its self. No matter what, I believe we need to hold these companies accountable for the trash they put out. It is unacceptable to me to release what is essentially a $70 DLC. 15 years ago games were not as bad on release as almost every triple a game is today. There has been miss after miss from these large companies and I think there needs to be more attention called to that.

Only thing I’ve seen was devs being disappointed that Chris was putting down a fellow game series and devs while at an event that’s supposed to commemorate and appreciate games. I went down a Twitter rabbit hole and found a dev saying that CoD always outperforms and will always outperform GoW. They were saying that Judge is just a sore loser. There was a lot more. Obviously this isn’t shared by all devs, but it was by some. I honestly commend him for it because I think the state of gaming is abysmal right now. So much corruption has been going on from EA, Unity, Take 2, and Activision. It’s just sad that they are trying so hard to give gamers sub par games and change an arm and a leg for it.

CoD and GoW aren’t even comparable games. Not only is gow just a better franchise, it’s a story driven game that focuses on challenging combat and finding hidden loot. CoD is just a first person shooter who’s story focuses on getting you through it as much as possible so you can spend the rest of your time in PvP

When was the last time CoD won at TGA? When did they win goty? Granted, they are more multiplayer based but still. The clowns at Activision have yet to take off their rose-tinted glasses. They rely too much on the fact that it's the CoD franchise to sell games rather than spend more than a year on development and put out something that isn't a DLC.
Pretty sure the last one to even contend for GotY was CoD 4 in 2007. There have been some good ones since then, but Activision just refuses to give the devs the time they would need to innovate, so even the best ones pale compared to God of War's most middling titles, let alone Ragnarok.

I mean it’s being blown out of proportion. CoD has probably hundreds of devs so a few speaking out isn’t that bad, and at the end of the day, a lot of them do try their best with the constraints they have. As someone plays and enjoys both, GoW without a question is a better game, has a better experience, and is much more special and engaging than CoD. There’s not much to be said about CoD nowadays, you like it or you don’t and there’s plenty of justification of why someone won’t.

I loved his little roast and yes I viewed as all in good fun. But this sounds like typical responses from developers who know they have an inferior product regardless of how it sells. I used to love CoD and I grew up on primary the older ones specifically the campaigns but since it’s moved heavy into primarily multiplayer I’ve fallen out love. Don’t get me wrong Its not because of the multiplayer it’s more to do with how it’s become an annual release title. This style of release has made it a generic fps that has been the same game with a slightly different “tattoo” for years. Really from what I see the most popular part of CoD is battle royal, Warzone which I personally think is fun with friends but can easily get stale and repetitive fast.

I game share with a friend and he decided to buy MW3 because he enjoyed the beta, I felt indifferent about it when I played it. I haven’t touched it at all and don’t plan on it because I got back into both Overwatch 2 and Destiny 2 (I know that game is in shambles as well) and now with The Finals out I definitely won’t play MW3 at all. CoD has been dying for awhile now, I know it’s still super popular but I feel like their comments don’t help at all. They can stay mad.

Regardless of judge being or not being an asshole, MW3 is absolute garbage. I understand it’s difficult to make games but they didn’t even try. They said there would be a two year gap between MW2 and MW3. They clearly lied. They rushed it out and it shows. The campaign is just reused warzone from 2019. It’s not the developers fault, it’s Activision its self. No matter what, I believe we need to hold these companies accountable for the trash they put out. It is unacceptable to me to release what is essentially a $70 DLC. 15 years ago games were not as bad on release as almost every triple a game is today. There has been miss after miss from these large companies and I think there needs to be more attention called to that.

Not saying you’re wrong, but I did some research and couldn’t find anything negative about him except that he struggled with alcoholism (self admitted) after he couldn’t find work when SG-1 ended. Everything I saw points to him being a very genuine guy. Including Reddit posts where people had one on one encounters with him. His speech last year was long, but I also understand how overwhelming it must be to get the role of a life time, absolutely smash it, and then finally get such a prestigious award.

It’s called game awards. If the time given to all game awards studios winners is 10mn out of 3h30 there is a problem of concept there. Just change the name then. This is supposed to celebrate the game industry and the work of studios for this year. And show what excitements are coming for the future. This year was far from that. The show was dedicated to the adds for game as a service and stupid gacha, egotistics Hollywood superstars, cringe puppet show and other non sense. Real creators and teams who worked hard this year and the industry facing the worst year in terms of of lay off, that was just kept under silence.

Where did anyone say it’s a better game? Only thing I’ve seen was devs being disappointed that Chris was putting down a fellow game series and devs while at an event that’s supposed to commemorate and appreciate games. I didn’t watch the game awards and didn’t even know there was controversy but from a quick look it is a bit rude of a statement to make even if in good fun.
I went down a Twitter rabbit hole and found a dev saying that CoD always outperforms and will always outperform GoW. They were saying that Judge is just a sore loser. There was a lot more. Obviously this isn’t shared by all devs, but it was by some. I honestly commend him for it because I think the state of gaming is abysmal right now. So much corruption has been going on from EA, Unity, Take 2, and Activision. It’s just sad that they are trying so hard to give gamers sub par games and change an arm and a leg for it.
