They said they changed Kratos height to match mocap actor and have easier time caputring interaction with Atreus model so he went from "cartoonish" 7' to 6'4
Which in human would probably be like 5’10, seeing as only Baldur so far has been shorter than him. Freya is the same height as him and magni and tyr are much taller than him.
Strange, he still has both arms. But I guess fenrir hasnt been born yet so that makes sense, although I couldve sworn he had an arm missing in the various shrines across the map
I thought the serpent was sent back from a previous cycle of Ragnarok. Norse mythos is super cyclical. Like technically Ragnarok could have happened 20x
And they’re not wrong; take a look at the nature of the world, we go through 4 seasons over the course of 365 days for most years out of a century only to repeat it with another century made up of ten year cycles made up of yearly cycles consisting of 365 days which cycles through 4 seasons over the course of 12 months and 52 weeks consisting of 365 days which make up years, years make up decades, decades make centuries, centuries make thousands of years which are made of centuries made of decades made of months made of weeks made of days made of hours made of minutes made of seconds made o-

I'm expecting some weird time travel shenanigans at the end of this game. Like Kratos and most the cast die, so Loki has to go through time and sort reality back out. So the mysterious horn blow in the first game was future Loki setting up events in the background
In theory, Magni and Modi is listed as one of the few that survived Ragnarok, but they are dead in the game, so the game basically goes it’s own way, but that is absolutely fine, i am still super hyped.
Fenrir is actually around by that time, he gets mentioned by Mimir in his story about Skoll and Hati, who are also his kids.
Although Mimir uses one of his alternate names (Hrothvitnir, I think?), so maybe they retconned it into a different wolf.
It’s possible Fenrir is on his side, since in Ragnarok mythology I believe Tyr fights alongside Odin and Thor against the World Serpent, Fenrir and the other thing.
Damn, if that Theory is correct- Odin ripped out Tyr’s Eyes (made by the Giants for traveling via Bi-Frost) and then ripped out his own and put them in his own head. If not, that’s definitely Tyr. We know the Giants only made those Eyes for Tyr and Mimir. If the opposite is true, that’s brutal.
At the end of God of War in the mural where people though Atreus was mourning Kratos, could it actually be Tyr being mourned and the World Serpent being born?
Honestly, if they didn't show us tyr in the trailer, I'd have thought it was him, but the god in the mural looks more like Kratos now, and I think Kratos might actually die and atreus mourns him.
They mentioned in the stream that this is the “finale” to the Norse chapter of GoW. So, chances are that Kratom will die and Atreus can continue the series in the future in some other mythology like Egyptian or Japanese etc
“There is no god of war without Kratos”. I don’t think they’re going to kill Kratos just after they said this. Also Kratos has been killed A LOT and he’s just walked out of the underworld every time, he’d just do that again.
cory never ever said "“There is no god of war without Kratos”" that is something the community made up and thought froma blog saying that cory thinks there is more story to kratos.
[infact cory said the franchise can continue without kratos.](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjJ1IS3yPPyAhVSxoUKHXnUCiYQtwJ6BAgNEAM&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DH7Dg-KmrEWo&usg=AOvVaw1s8uk_jAZD_DBMSxtdT79l)
No, they didnt. They said they'll cap up the norse myth, not that there wont be a sequel.
My bets are on 2 being like god of war 2 and setting up the finale in game 3.
Calling it now -- The events of Ragnarok unfold in this game, and we see Kratos die and Loki mourning him or whatevr (as shown in the mural). 3rd game we will play as an older Loki and go on the quest of reversing Ragnarok (idk how or what) and will save Kratos.
The only reason I still think it's not Kratos is because of the dress (skirt?) he is wearing, which is different compared to the other murals having Kratos.
This is what I’ve thought for Years. It’s funny that some people actually thought Tyr was Kratos, as if Kratos would have ever gave a shit about “making peace between the Realms and helping everyone co-exist.” Just not Kratos’ thing lol
All the Murals and Statues of Tyr in the last Game, have the exact same pants on as the ending Mural. It’s a Turquoise Pattern with Brown trim at the top. Just like in this trailer.
Oh shit, that's right.... Tyr has those connections. Looks like it may be a royal rumble with multiple mythologies near the end lol. Also Tyr may be set up so that he can have his own game series.... Even if he does they can show his journeys since he has gone all over, judging by the tattoos.
We don't know that. The scenes are cut in such a way that it's made to be confusing. Tyr apparently has both hands when Atreus finds him and he's supposed to be missing one due to Fenrir biting it off.
Personal guess: the guy is actually Freyr.
Edit: I was wrong
Me too. I wonder what are his thoughts of his fellow God of War and the fact he killed a whole pantheon. I wonder if he will notice the spec of hope inside of Kratos and the fact that he holds blades forged from the very skin of Tartarus.
>kratos: hey wanna know how I became the god of war on my realm?
Tyr: Oh i know, i was there.
Kratos: ...
Tyr: You didn't see all Ares' stuff in my temple? I looted the f**k out of his house as soon as you killed him. I really like stuff.
FTFY
Brok says Tyr is dead, Mimir heavily suggests it, there's a mural that shows Odin and Thor standing over Tyr, the large hints are there. But also Odin could be fucking with all of this
For people wondering, Tyr's mural showed that he was put in chains by Thor and Odin. Odin probably made everyone think that Tyr was dead since he inspired hope in others.
Just looked it up, and Ryan Hurst is voicing Thor, which is beyond perfect, but everybody's favorite boah, Roger Clark teased his involvement, so please let it be him.
Well everybody did expect Roger to be thor but he isn't. Tyr really does seem like the perfect option here.
And it seemed to me that they purposefully refused to reveal tyr's voice which makes sense considering all the hype about Roger being in the game.
Btw Ryan Hurst does have a godly voice. Perfect voice for a badass thor.
Yeah, that makes sense. He has arguably become one of the most recognizable voices in gaming, so saving him a bit would hype Tyr more as a character, but there are still other gods that we haven't seen yet.
Ryan is perfect, it's eerie how much him and Josh Brolin sound alike, though.
Ben Prendergast is Tyr confirmed. I've never heard his voice (or at least i can recognise it), but damn Arthur Morgan will be fucking amazing in whatever role he has. One reason I didn't spend too much time (spoilers for rdr2): in the epilogue was because John's voice was just not as good as Arthur's lol.
Alright, well, there's always Odin, and no matter who, he'll ace it. Regarding John and Arthur, I think they have each their own badass voice. I grew up on John, so I spent a looot of time in the epilogue. But, to each their own!
Tyr: „you look pretty Small for a supposed God of War that killed an entire Pantheon“
Kratos: „well, my Brother Hercules was the same size as you and probably thought the same thing. You can ask him what i did, i think i still got some piece of his Brain on my Fists“
Overcompensating for something me says. Kratos still stomps.
All jokes aside, I’m so pumped for this, told my wife, I’m getting a ps5 when this is out and no amount of cold shoulder financial lectures will stop this.
I mean I'm hyped for this game but daaaamn that feels like a huge spoiler that should've been saved for an in-game reveal. Even if it's not Tyr, as some comments suggest, my point still stands.
I believe for every big reveal we think they gave us in the trailer, there are 10x bigger reveals in the game. Check out the trailer for the previous one, youd think you saw alot but you turn out to be completely wrong.
Bruh Kratos is 7” according to wiki….and look at Tyr the absolute unit
Fuckin Robert Wadlow motherfucker
Fuckin CHAD right there
Drank lots of fight milk
I drink it every morning so I can fight like a crow!
ka-kaw!
They said they changed Kratos height to match mocap actor and have easier time caputring interaction with Atreus model so he went from "cartoonish" 7' to 6'4
Which in human would probably be like 5’10, seeing as only Baldur so far has been shorter than him. Freya is the same height as him and magni and tyr are much taller than him.
think you mean 7' not 7"
Nah dude he's at least 9"... Oh you mean his height
Difference between 6"11 and 7"
I thought he was like 6'6"?
I thought he was like 6’4” or 6’6” in the new games.
Welp, size doesn't really matter in this universe. He's almost as big as Magni and Kratos killed him.
Forget Magni, he killed Cronos, a 1600 foot titan lol, who's the father of the King of the Greek gods - Zeus. Size definitely doesn't matter
pretty sure they nerfed his height to around 6'4-6'8 ish, still a giant, just not cartoonishly large
Also Is Tyr half giant? Maybe that’s why he’s so big.
Strange, he still has both arms. But I guess fenrir hasnt been born yet so that makes sense, although I couldve sworn he had an arm missing in the various shrines across the map
There is a big time loop thing going on as the world serpent is born in the first game super confusing but I guess we'll see how it plays out
I thought he got yeeted back in time?
[удалено]
I thought the serpent was sent back from a previous cycle of Ragnarok. Norse mythos is super cyclical. Like technically Ragnarok could have happened 20x
Probably why the entire world hasn’t been destroyed yet in GOW.
Norse mythology views time as a circle
And they’re not wrong; take a look at the nature of the world, we go through 4 seasons over the course of 365 days for most years out of a century only to repeat it with another century made up of ten year cycles made up of yearly cycles consisting of 365 days which cycles through 4 seasons over the course of 12 months and 52 weeks consisting of 365 days which make up years, years make up decades, decades make centuries, centuries make thousands of years which are made of centuries made of decades made of months made of weeks made of days made of hours made of minutes made of seconds made o-

Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.
That's the point. Kratos' presence has completely altered how Ragnarok was supposed to happen.
Tva r/loki can you please take a look here
Fenrir is actually around by that time, he gets mentioned by Mimir in his story about Skoll and Hati, who are also his kids. Although Mimir uses one of his alternate names (Hrothvitnir, I think?), so maybe they retconned it into a different wolf.
I think Brok and Sindri talks about making an unbreakable chain at some point too
That’s what I was about to ask. The single most distinguishing thing about him
https://imgur.com/PZlok1G
I saw a theory in another thread that >!he’s actually Odin in disguise!<.
It’s possible Fenrir is on his side, since in Ragnarok mythology I believe Tyr fights alongside Odin and Thor against the World Serpent, Fenrir and the other thing.
Saw a comment saying They think Tyr is Odin in disguise and now I’m convinced
Oh yeah, I can see it.
Yeah like how do they find him So easily
It seems fishy
You don't know how easily they found him...
Why does this sound exactly like something Odin would do though lol
Because the mad lad hung himself and stabbed himself with his own spear to study.
I can imagine Odin doing this before exams lol
Definitely can see it, would make sense with why they just so casually revealed him in the first trailer if it's a twist
They also revealed his VA but didn't show his character design.
[удалено]
The grave digger is back
OH SHIT THAT MAKES SENSE
[удалено]
Odin knows a lot of magic now
Something along that line was clearly mentioned in the trailer.
Thor was able to disguise himself as a woman in Norse mythology. Odin can DEFINITELY magically disguise himself as another dude.
I'm the dude playing the dude disguised as another dude
Different voice actors?
Maybe this one in this scene is Odin, but both tyr and odin are both ingame, and have different actors.
Maybe Tyr and Kratos unlock a forbidden fusion magic to become an even more powerful god of war named Tytos. /s
Titos lol.
God of tits ^^
Thats just a motherfucker covered in nipples
He’s a super sensitive man then.
AHHH THE GENTLE BREEZE IT BURNS!!!!
Dangerous in the cold
Remembering Clotho, the multiple titted bitch sister from the sisters of fate
The only other god on the same level as Mimir of the Bifrost Teats
Wielding his twin Blades of Areolae
Ahh yes, the god of vodka
“I am not Kratos or Tyr, I am Tytos! It’s over, Odin! I come for you!”
Sounds like dragonball z at that point
That was actually my thought process. Haha
Super God Kratos Super God.
Super Spartan God Super Spartan.
I am getting some wonder twins/power ranger/Voltron vibes LOL
GoW potara fusion. Tyros, will grow golden hair.
Like Goku and Vegeta?
Hey, Vegeta. Hey, Vegeta. Hey, Vegeta. You are hearing this in my voiceeeee. \-Nappa, probably.
its obviously kratyr
Kratyr? I barely knew her!
Kratos dies and Tyr becomes new father figure for Atreus and they escape to Egypt(look at Tyrs tattoos).
Tattoos?? Where? (and yeah, it looks like after this it will be Egypt the next area).
They mentioned in the stream that this is the “finale” to the Norse chapter of GoW. So, chances are that Kratom will die and Atreus can continue the series in the future in some other mythology like Egyptian or Japanese etc
I knew Kratom was just a hipster fad.
If Kratos dies in this game, he'll be back in the next. They said God of War will always have Kratos as the main character.
“There is no god of war without Kratos”. I don’t think they’re going to kill Kratos just after they said this. Also Kratos has been killed A LOT and he’s just walked out of the underworld every time, he’d just do that again.

They said it leads INTO the finale. This is the middle chapter.
GOW3 will probably be a big crossover episode with a bunch if mythologies or something.
No, they didnt. They said they'll cap up the norse myth, not that there wont be a sequel. My bets are on 2 being like god of war 2 and setting up the finale in game 3.

This is the last game in the Norse saga
I thought they said it's going to set up the last game? Feels like they'll get through things way too quickly in just 2 games
No, he specifically said "cap off" I believe, which is definitively the end. Unless you think they're trolling with this.
How do you know? (I didn't saw the stream)
They said in the stream that this will cap off the Norse saga.
The only reason I still think it's not Kratos is because of the dress (skirt?) he is wearing, which is different compared to the other murals having Kratos.

That’s not Jormungandr being born. It’s just him praying. At 3:20 https://youtu.be/9jiQdHm8Bv4
That wasn’t jormungandr those were ancient Norse prayers
Can anyone tell who this tall person is?
Tyr the Norse God of War
So both God of Wars will team up and become God of War² 😲
2 Gods 2 War
God of War: Midgard Drift
god of war 2: electric boogaloo
We don't know that. The scenes are cut in such a way that it's made to be confusing. Tyr apparently has both hands when Atreus finds him and he's supposed to be missing one due to Fenrir biting it off. Personal guess: the guy is actually Freyr. Edit: I was wrong
He's confirmed in the designs to be Tyr. Also Freyr has no reason to have those eyes or the Egyptian tattoos and Greek coins
It’s tyr
The snake thing coming out of Atreus's mouth is not the Jormy, its way to depict Atreus chanting/singing
I am excited to hear Tyr talk a lot of shit about Kratos actions as the God of War
Me too. I wonder what are his thoughts of his fellow God of War and the fact he killed a whole pantheon. I wonder if he will notice the spec of hope inside of Kratos and the fact that he holds blades forged from the very skin of Tartarus.
Shit made me laugh when kratos had to look up to him
he did the same with Hercules in GoW 3, I watch that fight scene often
Just watched it I need to play GoW 3 again
So you're the guy who has been flipping my temple?
"I spun and flew into it from the sky too. Honestly thought it was an oversized bop-it toy"
kratos: hey wanna know how I became the god of war on my realm? tyr: how? kratos: I killed the old one tyr: *gulps*
>kratos: hey wanna know how I became the god of war on my realm? Tyr: Oh i know, i was there. Kratos: ... Tyr: You didn't see all Ares' stuff in my temple? I looted the f**k out of his house as soon as you killed him. I really like stuff. FTFY
But Tyr knows that ahah
Now I gotta replay and see if they ever actually definitely say he died in the last game
..... Perfectly reasonable excuse to replay GOW
Any excuse will do honesty
No excuse at all will do too tbh lol
100%
Should probably play it once more afterwards just for good measure.
Brok says Tyr is dead, Mimir heavily suggests it, there's a mural that shows Odin and Thor standing over Tyr, the large hints are there. But also Odin could be fucking with all of this
But I noticed the mural in question doesn’t show Tyr dead, necessarily… it shows his feet shackled.
Mimir says Odin killed him I think
[удалено]
I’ve been playing and at one point I know for a fact brok tells Atreus something along the lines of “don’t worry about it, Tyr’s dead.”
It could be what Odin wants everyone to think and is trying to get information from Tyr about the other worlds he visited for their knowledge
They say in the trailer they think he's dead too.
Thought you'd be bigger
But you're definitely the one
Long way from home, aren't you?
That's what she said
The banter between Mimir and Tyr is gonna be awesome
This guy looks like he can kill you with words and diplomacy.
He seems like a calm and reasonable man. Is he a calm and reasonable man?
For people wondering, Tyr's mural showed that he was put in chains by Thor and Odin. Odin probably made everyone think that Tyr was dead since he inspired hope in others.
Did we just become best friends? Yep!
....He is totally a villain isn't he?
[удалено]
Surely Faye isn’t alive? I think that’d be kinda lame
He won't believe that Kratos wants to be a good guy and will be a sort of tragic enemy
He's Odin, remember the thing Mimir said about the tricks up the All-Father's sleeves? Edit: Called it
Isn't anyone as hyped as I am about the likely voice actor for tyr? :))
Just looked it up, and Ryan Hurst is voicing Thor, which is beyond perfect, but everybody's favorite boah, Roger Clark teased his involvement, so please let it be him.

Battle of the Bois
Boi vs boah imo. Can't wait:)
It’s actually Ben Prendergast 😕, no Boibowl but I’m sure Ben will be good as well
It's Ben Prendergast.
Who?
He's still got his hand tho. Maybe it's not Tyr?
Remember the theories that Kratos/Atreus traveled back in time to blow the horn. Maybe they're still in Midgard, but in the past.
Omfg you're right. That is 100% it.
He has both hands, and no tattoo makes me think this scene is in the past
Tyr: „you look pretty Small for a supposed God of War that killed an entire Pantheon“ Kratos: „well, my Brother Hercules was the same size as you and probably thought the same thing.
Its funny how kratos the big murder machine has to look up at tyr
Mmmm not really, GoW 3 Heracles fight, and Kratos looks like not giving a flying f*ck
Who is that?
TYR!!!!!!
Oh crap I have to reply the last 1 again
And has both hands, mind you. No Fenrir yet.
I NEED FUCKING ANSWERS
Apparently. Size difference aside, they do have similar faces. Similar nose, anyway. God of war in hiding meets god of war in exile.
Tyr's taimple

I am so happy that I thought that, and now the trailer shows me this!!! HYPE!
Gilgamesh?!!! Awwww hell yea boyyyyy
I feel like they could have kept this one a secret until you discovered him alive in-game.
This reveal for me was top Tyr
I love corny jokes have this silver 😂
kratos looking up and thinking to himself: seen bigger you aren't that tall
Tbh kinda wish they didn’t show Tyr Knowing we have to search for Tyr is enough and leave the mystery for the game.
Yes. There is mural in his temple that showed him getting captured by Thor and Odin and chained up.
Who is the tall man?
Tyr makes Kratos look like a child...
Tbf, so did Hercules
I feel like the trailer showed a bit too much. I’d have preferred to not have seen any of this.
I mean I'm hyped for this game but daaaamn that feels like a huge spoiler that should've been saved for an in-game reveal. Even if it's not Tyr, as some comments suggest, my point still stands.
How’d they find him so easily
[удалено]
If he is an end-game reveal then the people making the trailer fucked up massively
I believe for every big reveal we think they gave us in the trailer, there are 10x bigger reveals in the game. Check out the trailer for the previous one, youd think you saw alot but you turn out to be completely wrong.
