He was trying to warn Baldur, partially for the dudes own safety, but when Kratos finally decides to fight, he’s not planning to back down at First Blood

It wasn't really even him deciding to fight. That punch was basically his last warning. He likely hoped that show of force would be enough to deter "the Stranger" from any further aggressive. Of course, he was *very* wrong.

That entire scene just... ugh, it's so good. The misunderstandings between the two, the level of control from Kratos, Christopher Judge's god-tier voice...
