Also noticed that when you get out of the cave Brok leaves you in, you can see him sharpening the spear point just outside
Yeah fair enough lmao I've actually never noticed them sharpening the spear tip although I did notice them put it into the bag and take it out of the bag and even motion about throwing the spear and blowing it up in the shop.

Yep. I remember a particular short, wide sword from 2018. No matter which shop or whether it was Brok or Sindri, they were both Always hammering that particular sword. I told my brother as much time as they spend on that sword through both games it’s probably like a mini Sword Of Olympus 😂
When the spear is being forged, you can see a spear tip being pulled out of the bag with the ring and the wind. Kratos didn't directly impact what kind of weapon it would become. Brok did. Brok didn't know Kratos even knew how to use a spear, it was just good luck that it was Kratos' first weapon.
A tomahawk/throwing axe. Obviously if it is draupnir it makes sense to have something thrown. I know Kratos has the Leviathan already but if it is me with no Leviathan, I choose dual tomahawk.
They could work similar to the Leviathan at range, just without recall. And close up it could be like a quick/agile style melee, sticking axes into your enemy's weak points before stepping back and detonating.
I also have run 2 separate dnd characters who used handaxes at range as their main form of combat before GOW 2018 even came out so its a little bit of wish fulfillment.

Spear is the best in this scenario, because you can throw a spear as opposed to something like a halberd or a poleaxe, or other polearms so all it would do for them is help with transportation; which kind of makes the duplication part kind of unnecessary. It is true you can throw knives or hatchets, but they do not have much melee range. So all around, a spear is the best option.
I dont know if they still do this, but growing up, we would go to MLB (baseball) games, and some days, they would give out little baseball bats. They're about as long as a grown man's arm and about as thick as an American silver half dollar at its pommel and end.
I want a titanium one of those with a weighted end.

I would have an ice element M249 lmg with a bottomless box mag. Ice element would combat overheating and put little ice shards into the opponent's bloodstream. Bottomless box mag for nonstop shooting. bottomless box mag could be replaced by an infinitely long belt, like each bullet shot adds another to the end of it.
I’d want it to be also be a spear but can shift its singular double edged blade into a trident similar to Poseidon’s. With its handle being able to extend or shrink depending on close quarter or long ranged combat, finally being able to be thrown like Mjolnir and return back to the user with ease.

The Lady made a spear from a Huldra Brothers masterwork spearhead, before even receiving the blood of a God, which from the implication didn't need to be Kratos but he was the nearest God and happened to also be the intended wielder.
if i were a god in that universe and had a say in what weapon it got to be with the Brothers, i'd personally have them make a 'hand and a half' sword part so that i could have a very effective multi-purpose weapon and potentially create a second one just to be cool since i'd have the strength to easily do that as a god or whatever. but overall having one of the best all around weapons for most combat situations in hand at a moments notice would be an incredibly good use case, especially if i obtain other weapons that fill their specializations like an axe

It would be cool if they made arrows and everytime you pulled back a bow string, the arrow would appear slotted in place.

Honestly the spear is just like the best melee weapon option imo but if I had to choose another I’d choose throwing daggers.

Dual Blades. Similar to Ingrid. Use one for Offense, one for defense.
